McCain Hauls in $15 Million In March
April 07, 2008 4:53 PM
ABC News's Bret Hovell Reports: The month of March was good to John McCain – his campaign raked in more than $15 million, his best haul of this election cycle.
But his two rivals for the White House, Democratic Sens. Hillary Clinton of New York, and Barack Obama of Illinois far outpaced that total. Obama, in fact, raised more than Clinton and McCain combined.
McCain, R-Ariz., spent the entire month of March as the presumptive Republican nominee, after his main rival for the party's nod, former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney, dropped out in the middle of February. He won enough delegates to make that nomination all but official on March 4, after winning big in Ohio, Texas, Vermont and Rhode Island.
With his nomination sewn up, and the Democrats still battling on the other side, McCain has been free to focus on fundraisers, often doing 7 to 10 per week.
Full details of McCain's March numbers will be filed later this month.

McCain is not fit to lead. Sorry but thats just how it is. He is anti-constitution and therefore anti-American. He seems to like the Patriot Act which is an anti-American piece of legislation. It amazes me that an anti-conservative, anti-Republican may actually be the Republican nominee. If he is I will go ahead and congratulate Obama fans on his presidential win, because no ACTUAL Republican is going to vote for a liberal democrat like Amnesty McCain....pure and simple. Looks like us ACTUAL conservatives may have to look to Bob Barr to get at least a smidgen of conservatism and constitutionalism addressed in this election. I really hate that McCain's presence as pretty much a 3rd party neocolonialist candidate is splitting the Republican vote. I wish he would go ahead and bow out and stop destroying the Republican party. Shame on those who voted for this democrat in the primary.
