ABC News' Jan Simmonds Reports: The Chicago Sun Times is reporting that Rev. Jeremiah Wright, the former pastor of Sen. Barack Obama, fired back at the news media during a Chicago funeral service on Saturday. Wright didn't mention the Democratic presidential hopeful by name but did call out some of his critics, including Fox News commentators Bill O'Reilly and Sean Hannity, at times drawing standing ovations from the 2,500 mourners in attendance.

He said: "Fox News can't understand that. O'Reilly will never get that. Sean Hannity's stupid fantasy will keep him forever stuck on stupid when it comes to comprehending how you can love a brother who does not believe what you believe." Wright also referred to Fox News as "Fix News."

Saturday's funeral at Trinity United Church of Christ in Chicago was closed to reporters but Sun-Times had a reporter inside the church. The newspaper's Web site Sunday carried a recording of Wright's remarks at a eulogy.

You can listen to the eulogy by clicking HERE:

Wright also made his first public appearance in Norfolk, Virginia today since the furor over his remarks criticizing the United States. He once again made no mention of Obama.

Wright emerged as major problem for Obama after some of his sermons in which he made incendiary comments popped up on the Internet.

Clinton supporters should reconsider their new found love for FOX news because if they are successful at stealing the nomination from Obama the guns will be redirected to their true enemy...The Clintons.

With the Colombia fisaco, trying to reneg on the Iowa agreement, Bosnia and all the other real gaffes that FOX has given them a pass on they wont even have to ask the Bill alone in the White house question...The GOPers are jealous of Obama because he has been able to do what the GOP was never successful at...Beating the Clintons.

Jeremiah Wright AND Obama’s apologies only make matters worse for the Democratic Party.

It’s like Obama's “typical white grandmother comment”. Remember how he compared his “white grandmother” to “Jeremiah Wright”, so he didn’t have to apologize for Wright’s radical remarks in a church of God?

Now he is comparing Pennsylvanians to his home state of IL. He is calling his home state of IL (and several others) “god fearing, gun, toting, racists” like he did with his “typical white grandmother”. Maybe he feels the people will forgive him if he throws his home state under the bus.

That big bang you just heard is the OBAMA BUSMOBILE crashing into the wall of “truth and honesty”.

HILLARY / EDWARDS 2008!

Fox News with Shepherd Smith is not so bad. O´Reilly and Hannity are news
"analysts" although I don´t think Hannity (the inanity) could analyze himself out of a paperbag. Enough already.

You gotta admit it - Wright doesn't know how to keep his mouth shut. Maybe if he says enough we can get another one of those speeches out of the mouth of Howdy Doody Obama.

Buffalo Bob Wright and Howdy Doody Obama, jumping the shark.

@TadAllagash

We have to take back the white house in 2008..
These conservatives are disgusting. All the attacks they were making when Bill Clinton was president, seem to have disappeared when one of their own entered office.

At the end of the day, those of you crying racism from Obama and Wright were never going to vote for Obama in the first place..

Just like those of you who believe there aren't any "bitter" people in America.

Pastors and prophets are seldom easy to listen to, and Rev. Wright is no exception to his lineage. Options available to USA/Americans is the same as it has been throughout history: blame the messenger, and continue headlong onto the road of destruction, or listen, even when you don't like what you hear, take it to heart, and change your ways, to get back into the grace of God. Read: II Chronicles 7:14

Its just so easy to blame everyone else for the problems of Rev Wrights people. Blame the government for all the people who have aids and do drugs. Blame fox news for actually reporting what Rev Wright preaches. It is so easy for the Rev to blame everyone else. What he needs to do is have people like himself look in the mirror and take responsibilty for their actions. Take the easy way out Rev by blameing others. The odd thing is some people actually believe his worthless rhetoric.

Trinity is a racist church and is proud of it. Trust me I've been there. But ya gotta understand they have the right to be racist. Blacks have suffered enough. It's time to turn this around.
Vote Obama 08!!

Foxnews is unfair and ubalanced. Has anybody heard anything about McCain from Foxnews, wake-up. Bill Oreilly and Hannety have started to support McCain since it was known that he was the republican presidential candidate and they continue to bash Obama because Hill the Bosnian Sniper and his supporter Ed have appraised FowNews for attacking Obama, his church and former pastor. Nobody has heard about McCain's church and controversial pastors or Hill's church. Duble standard. Obama's pastor is not on the ballot, the word "bitter" is twisted and taken out of context by Hill the Bosnian General who has received 800 000 to ship over American jobs to Colombia as she has done with NAFTA. God bless NYT, WP, CNN, ABC, MSNBC, CBS, God bless America and God bless Obama. OBAMA08.

Clinton supporters are fully aware of fox. We will cross that bridge later....

Yeah! Go get 'em "Wright" this time. Show 'em some true colors, ya Fix News. We brothers are all together in this - now that Powell has switched party already to lead the troops. Our phony candidate will rise to occasion this time to defend Wright himself.

Wright once again is up to his spewing of hate for America and whites, oh well I hope he keeps talking every day from now on.

Posted by: SJ | Apr 13, 2008 3:33:55 PM

Hillary will sign a pact with the devil, which she did with Fox News. Obama can't hate white people after all is a partly white. It's you racist that hate for hating sick. He will be President and bring all of this nonsense to an end.
Bitter but Hopeful
Obama 08

Fox news is propaganda whose aim is to keep us from thinking for ourselves. If we do not wake up in time the rest of the world would have left us behind. With all the facilities we have in our country is it not appalling to see so many of our people under informed? How we easily fall for emotional triggers! We do not have let us be herded.

O'lielly is and idiot and sean hannity is stuck on stupid I did not like what rev . Wright said befroe but in this case he's dead on they are both morons that always have half assed things to say about so many just rem. O'lielly and Glick and Hannity well there are so many things both have said I could go on I don't see the problem here at least with this statement !!!! good job REV Wright.

Bill Oreilly and Sean Hannity commited
wicked transgressions by every night
pounding on Rev. Wright. They did not
air the remainder of the sermon, neither
did they listen to other sermons about
Jesus Christ and God. They did this so
that Hillary can gain votes to match up
against John McCain. Why does John McCain need this from Fox News? Cannot his staffers run his campaign?

Posted by: Plainspeaking | Apr 13, 2008 3:41:05 PM

@ Michael..

Obama isn't a racist,

And Im just a level headed black person.. I understand completely what Rev. Wright was saying, and I saw how Fox news Spinned and looped a 30sec clip out of a 30min sermon..

but thats "typical" of conservatives to never see beyond anything.

Did I just describe you well enough?
