Ron Paul Tops Amazon List at #1
April 30, 2008 4:38 PM
ABC News' Z. Byron Wolf Reports: Texas Congressman Ron Paul has "wound down" his campaign for the Republican presidential nomination, although his supporters continue to make a showing at state conventions from Missouri to Nevada - even even causing a ruckus that required the Nevada convention to be temporarily shut down.
His fans also catapulted Paul's latest manifesto, released today and titled appropriately, The Revolution: A Manifesto, to number one on the Amazon bestseller list.
That makes not just an erstwhile presidential candidate who cedes he can't win the race but is encouraging voters to support him at the polls, but a bestselling one at that. The next nearest candidate is Sen. Barack Obama, whose Audacity of Hope is at #113 on the Amazon list and whose Dreams of My Father is at #278. Things don't look as good in the cold hard online reality of Amazon for Sens. John McCain and Hillary Clinton. McCain's Faith of My Fathers is way down at #4,758 this hour and Clinton's Living History is at 21,380, although those two books are years old.
The Amazon list is updated hourly and Paul's supporters, who have been waiting for the book, also know how to make their point online. So, it's unclear if Paul's one-day showing will catapult him into The New York Times Bestseller list, where Obama is currently at #4 and #8 on the paperback nonfiction list.
Paul says in Revolution: A Manifesto that campaign books have deservedly short shelf lives, but he wrote his more as an entrée to his revolution of freedom, peace and small government, notions which he says are on the rebound and are going, eventually, to unite Americans.

Dear Sir/ Mme another hillary supporter for mcainintheass, the article is talking about books, candidates who can write and who are intelligent enough to tell their story so that people can buy their books. Hill the Bosnian General is again with her friend McCain at the end of the list, their stories are not famous and not intelligently written. That is the reflection of their IQ as you may know. God bless America and God bless Obama.OBAMA08.

Ron Paul was clearly the best candidate from the start of this primary campaign fiasco. However, the news media apparently made some sort of pact to bury him before his campaign could even get off the ground. Ron Paul represents exactly what America needs: a middle ground and LESS involvement in other countries' affairs. But as we all know, unless you're far right or far left, no one pays any attention to you.

Hillary still has SOME of the same problem as Ron Paul: she is too close to the center politically. For several decades, America has chosen between ultra-liberal and radical conservative/theocrat. Hillary is the best choice of the remaining three candidates, but she still has an uphill battle against the fringes (on both sides).

Zdnet, I have been called a centrist before and also an isolationist, but I take these comments as compliments. You sound intelligent, but give me some credit, too. A difference of opinion does not necessarily make our "opponent" stupid. For what it's worth, I have contributed to Hillary's campaign; I hardly think I qualify as "too far right"! Besides, I am an atheist, which most Republicans think is the worst thing on Earth.

Ron Paul wasn't disenfranchised by the media. Ron Paul got his message out in several debates, was written about in thousands of articles and news reports, was given a voice just like anyone else, and failed to convince most people that he, like his followers, is a complete nutter.
Ron Paul sank Ron Paul because Ron Paul has relations with supremacist groups which most Americans don't care for, no matter what the other message is about in regards to freedom and liberty. David Duke might have some great ideas about private enterprise, but it doesn't mean that I'm going to listen to him either on any issue.
Sorry Ronulans, your candidate has racist and anti-semitic ties, and that helped to do him in. Everyone heard your message and rejected it. Please have the decency to respect our decision. Perhaps that's the part about democracy that you don't understand: respecting the will of the people.

Read it and then share the knowledge with all your friends.

I ordered this book and I absolutely cannot wait for it to arrive. I started following Dr. Paul's campaign in May of 2007. Ron Paul has never changed his message, he is a true strict constitutionalist which is exactly what America needs. This country was founded on the finest ideals, the founding fathers had a wonderful vision of liberty for the common man that has been eroded over our history. We must return to our roots and make this country great once again.

I'm sorry, when the networks decide who will and who will not be in a debate for the presidential race, I don't think that necessarily indicates that anyone chose or did not choose Ron Paul.
Consider this - before he even "wound down" his campaign, any time the Republican candidates were mentioned in any of the primaries/caucuses, they always referred to only McCain and Romney. The media made sure to always omit any mention that hey, there's another candidate out there, sure he's got low numbers, but you might have another option here. No. The media wanted McCain as the GOP candidate, and so let it be done.
Get it straight - the media is absolutely running the presidential race. It is abhorrent that any single network that is supposed to bring the news instead of dictate it can push their propaganda on the public when they're supposed to merely present the facts to us and let US decide.
And if you want to talk about iffy associations by presidential candidates, I believe one is getting harped upon in the media right now - but it's not Ron Paul in question. At least he never lied about braving sniper fire, not caring about whether or not he was defaming our military and their safety procedures, and he's not a blank check that the special interest groups can write to whomever they choose.
Posted by: DisdainLady | Apr 30, 2008 6:02:52 PM
If everyone purchased a second book and sent it to one of their representatives, would they start to get the message?
Writing in Ron Paul in November!
Posted by: pita | Apr 30, 2008 6:05:45 PM
Summer Seale, you apparently don't know this is a republic, not a democracy. And you must not know that the local head of the NAACP in Ron Paul's district supports him, and he is closely associated with Jewish economist Murray Rothbard. No way is he racist.
Ron Paul had the most elected delegates in Nevada and beat McCain in the caucus, thus deserving the national delegates. But the state GOP is so afraid of him they walked out. Who doesn't understand losing?
Posted by: David | Apr 30, 2008 6:06:39 PM
ABC, PLEASE stop saying that the Paul supporters caused a ruckus in Nevada. Every single person there was an elected delegate, and every single one of them had a right to vote. Voting a simple change of some procedural matters does not a ruckus make.
A ruckus is made when the people who lost the vote walk out.
Posted by: Alexia | Apr 30, 2008 6:10:04 PM
As one of the few people that have read all of the campaign books mentioned, (OK, I skimmed McCain's), I'm not surprised that Ron Paul's is selling best. Besides being the newest, it's also the best written.
I am surprised to learn that anyone cares. Does a tinfoil hat make reading difficult?
Posted by: Shane Savoie | Apr 30, 2008 6:23:53 PM
The McCain supporters abruptly exited the Nevada convention to prevent a quorum because Ron Paul was getting too many votes and they wanted to invalidate the election. It's days later and the convention is still shut down: how is that "temporarily"? It's no wonder some of the comments about Ron Paul show so much disinformation. They must be trusting news reports and false blog reports like this one.
Posted by: Sandra | Apr 30, 2008 6:41:43 PM
Ron Paul supporters did not cause the ruckus. The McCain supporters did. They weren't getting what they wanted so they acted like children and left in order to end the convention. It is all on video.
Even senior delegate Mike Webber said that what happened was not right and acted to try to prevent the McCain people from violating the rules. He is not a Ron Paul supporter but said that he was exposing his political career by attempting to prevent the McCain people from wrongfully ignoring the rules and hijacking the convention.
The McCain supporters are typical of the it's my way or the highway mentality that is pervasive throughout this country's politics now. After eight years of Bush, we should have had enough of this.
Posted by: Web Smith | Apr 30, 2008 6:57:28 PM
Paul supporters did not cause a ruckus that forced the Nevada Republican convention to be shut down. They were following the rules, exercising their democratic rights. The convention was suspended illegally to prevent Ron Paul's supporters from winning.
Posted by: GuyCybershy | Apr 30, 2008 6:58:02 PM
McCain's supporters caused the ruckus in NV. Who thinks their third place finish will result in first, just cause Mittens says so? gimme a break. The party leaders tried to ram him down the delegates throat. The ellected delegates said, no way. I guess if you don't like a Republic, Byron, you should move.

Posted by: Rhysw | Apr 30, 2008 7:08:09 PM
I was at the Nevada State Convention. Ron Paul supporters were on their way to sweeping 90% of the delegate slots when the Nevada State GOP leadership shut down the convention. McCain supporters first tried to get all their people out to prevent a quorum. When that failed the chair of the convention called for an indefinite recess without discussion or a vote. This is not valid under Robert's Rules of Order.

Rhsyw, what don't u like about his platform? The fact that it would eliminate government wastefulness? Unconstitutional wars? Etc. The man is a great politician, a great thinker, and a great person. Predictions that he have usually turned out correct(crash of dollar). He knows what he is talking about.

duderino,
Yes, that's right. I'm for government waste, unconstitutional wars, etc...
You have me pegged there. Oops. I guess anyone who is anti-Paul is just like me.
Oh put me down for anti-Freedom as well - apparently Paul supporters think that's a strictly Ron Paul issue.
Posted by: Summer Seale | Apr 30, 2008 8:12:14 PM
well, u failed to answer a question. I also did not state anything, I just questioned? But I will state this, you are most likely one these people who know nothing of issues but you do know all about rev. wright, monica lewinsky, etc. Please give us paulians something that you don't like about Ron's platform. If u can.
Posted by: duderino | Apr 30, 2008 8:22:12 PM
I don't like his stance on the war, for one thing. That's one big issue for me. I also don't like the fact that almost every 9/11 truther out there supports Ron Paul and sees him as an ally. That's another problem I have with Ron Paul. I also don't think his economic ideas fit with the 21st century of a very complex economic system which took centuries to build up. I don't like his stance on abortion either.
But the war is primary for me. For the record: I'm a militant atheist in the vein of Chris Hitchens. My solution to religious Jihadi is a concrete room, a rubber hose, and fifteen minutes of my time. Anyone who doesn't support the war does not get my vote. Period. End of story. I don't care what their reason is, they aren't going to get it. Ever. I dig the fact that we are killing jihadis, I like it, I support it, I hated and loathed Saddam - I'm glad he's dead and it's too bad they didn't hang him by his nuts first and feed him to a paper shredder. I'm a violent, evil, girl who likes revenge. I don't really like George Bush's policies a lot of the time, but he supported the war so I voted for him in 2004. I will vote for McCain for the same reason. I will vote against anyone who puts up an anti-war platform. I will never, ever, compromise this position. I've heard Ron Paul's position, and I don't agree. That's my right. My vote is going to McCain, against Ron Paul, against Obama, against Hillary. I like that we're in Iraq, I like that we're setting our sights on Iran, I applauded in September 2007 when Israel bombed the Syrian reactor, and I'll keep on baying for blood, tears, and bombs until the enemy is defeated; crushed; broken; dead. End of story.

Summer Seale, your delusions of grandeur are comical. Obviously you didn't hear about Ron Paul being excluded from Fox's New Hampshire debate the night before their primary. Didn't notice that Ron Paul was marginalized even when he was allowed to debate (two questions Dr. Paul, one do you believe in the 9/11 truthers and are you going to make an independent run for president--you have 2 seconds to respond). Didn't notice that he was cast as a Libertarian in major news outlets, not a libertarian (small "l"). Didn't notice all the BS about hookers for Ron Paul, racists for Ron Paul, and all the crud that the MSM chose to focus on. He is a man of substance, and when allowed to speak, he makes more sense than all 3 of the other candidates put together. As far as the economy, he's freakin Nostradamus!
I do agree that "censorship" is not a completely accurate description. It's more like false characterizations, just like this piece, VERY SUBTLE. Case in point, his supporters caused a "ruckus" (in the very first paragraph). And it's a fallacy as pointed out by many. However, it's tactics like these that were enough to convince the weak-minded lemmings that he had no chance to win. Or that he was a kook. A gadfly. Many I talk to now *regret* that they didn't vote for him. Well, he's still in there Summer. There were 12, now there are two. Go Ron Go!
Posted by: madmambodog | Apr 30, 2008 8:52:24 PM
madmambodog,
Go ahead and vote for him. I ain't stopping you. Nobody is stopping you. And those questions put to Ron Paul were absolutely relevant. And, again, I did listen to his platform, I've been to his site, I've "googled Ron Paul", as I was told, and I'm still not voting for him.
Ever.
Go figure.

Ron Paul was the most refreshingly honest candidate there was in regards to the US and foreign policy . The other Republicans scoffed and laughed and tried to make him out as fool during the debates , it was a sickening spectacle knowing that Paul indeed was telling and speaking the truth . Trouble is most people are ignorant of the truth , they don't read , they don't pay attention , they don't reason and use logic or question but just listen to the sound bites here and there and listen to or read the main stream media " news " which is most often not reliable and truthful and functioning as our protector like it used to but is now an extension of the propaganda machine and too way many just buy it ! Bush and the Republicans and their lies and propaganda and criminal activities , so many stories , major stories the media will not even touch and now with the elections going on they just repeat these simpleton meaningless stories and don't bring up anything of substance , they are like entertainment net works now , not journalism and reporting and informing ! Ron Paul had some goofy ideas but as far as foreign policy he did not pull any punches and told it exactly how it really is .

Summer, glad you're for the war. But the painful truth of the matter is, we're leaving soon. The money is going to run out or our economy will collapse, whichever comes first. When you're through with one of your sycophantic diatribes, tell us which one you'd choose if you were president. I'll hang on to my hat and glasses.

Summer, I'm not trying to convince you to vote for Ron Paul. In one of your earlier posts, you said that Paul had gotten a fair shake in the media. And that's not true. That's my point. End of story. Period. Ka-put. Absolut Citron. And any other corny conclusions you can muster in your den of hatred.
Now, who wants popcorn?
Posted by: madmambodog | Apr 30, 2008 9:19:52 PM
It's amusing how incompetent the mainstream media is. Ron Paul did not end his presidential bid. The fact that ABC and US News can't even report that correctly illustrate their pathetic job as so called news organizations.

I so badly want to rip into ms. seale. However, I am done with her because she is evidently senile and full of hate. Just two more questions: how many terrorists have u killed? and why did we go to Iraq?
could it be that they had no army to defend themselves and they have oil. also, bush had to finish what daddy couldn't do. looks like somone will have to finish what G.W. couldn't do as well. people like seale make me sad to live side by side with such ignorant people. if she is actually human. i'm done.

Summer- you go girl! Give them hell. The pauliacs are clueless mutants on the whole who are mesmerized by luap nor in the same way the obamatards are. They could check out the numerous investigative pieces at www.littlegreenfootballs.com that shred the doctor's BS claims. Of course the paulbots will rationalize how paul had no idea what was published in HIS OWN newsletter for many years, much like Obambi claims he was unaware of how radical Wright's sermons were for the 20 years he attended services.
Why won't the paultards tell us why paul was on a neo-nazi's radio show numerous times? Since Paul has been in Congress for ages, why has he not accomplished anything related to his big vision for America? He's got the same testicular fortitude and Obama and would let jihad run rampant unchallenged. luap nor, obama and jimmuh carter are birds of a feather who hate america, jews and would be clones of Neville Chamberlain. Paul might have gone futher if he were part of a corrupt big city machine, were a mulatto and had some kind of charismatic speaking style. Libs bash McCain for being an ancient geezer- that applies to paul also.
Yes, it would be great to have a much smaller govt.,lower taxes, etc., but isolationism, trade barriers are wrong and that stupid idea of backing money fully with gold is physically undoable.
Many of the pauliacs appear to need help with reality. Paul will never be anywhere near the Presidency because most of us see him for the lying phony he is; not that the others are not big liars also.
I understand that your idol will face a stiff primary challenge for Congress this next term. Now go back to dangling from the nether regions of the only man who can save america. Bwaahhhh!

Change long suppressed happens quickly and unexpectedly.
2008 is the year we restore our Constitution, ignored since coups d'etat of 1913 and 1963.
Count on it.

Wow, judging from a few comments, not everyone is ready for a Freedom Agenda. And that's just plain okay. As for me, Paul's Manifesto is a hit. I bought it along with A Foreign Policy of Freedom, which is actually a collection of floor speeches over the years. Read the latter, and you'll wonder where Stalin Media and your lame Congress have been all this time.

I think that this is just a really great book. I think Dr. Paul tells us like it is, and what we need to do in order to be truly American again. We have forgotten our principles, and we need to remember what liberty and following the Constitution is about again. This will make us great again.

unclemongrel-
we went to Iraq for their oil? Pray tell, where is it then? Construct some more strawmen. Iraq invaded Kuwait and your admired UN voted to oust Iraq from Kuwait with a coalition that did not want baghdad captured or hussein removed. Hussein accepted terms to end hostilities and then violated them endlessly. How many govts., spy agencies, clinton and clinton admin. officials said Hussein had WMDs? And yet you will say Bush lied. Better to have a presence in the mideast than have terrorists nuking an American city, you would think. Maybe this war would have been winding down if traitors like the paultards and the loony left were at all working for an AMERICAN victory and not kissing islamic fascist butts and thus encouraging them in the same way sKerry Lurch and Cronkite did with Vietnam.
I woon't further respond because you paul apologists haven't a clue what makes things right. Now, go back into your parents' basement and play some video games.

>>For heaven's sake, nobody in the states *hasn't* heard about Ron Paul.<<
You are dead wrong! I live in the upper Midwest. I've spoken to several people who never heard about him telling me his name was not mentioned by the media during poll results around the country. MEDIA BLACKOUT on Ron Paul is a fact.

Summer Seale's name should be changed to Summer Chicken Hawk. It's okay to send other people's son's and daughters in to fight an un-Constitutional war, just as long as it's not you. Oh, I know, you are going to reply and tell us that you served or have a family member that did...sure.
What's more, it's sad that you continue to buy into the hype that we are actually trying to wage/win the war on terrorism. What's sadder is that you feel so strongly about this war, yet you are willing to at least have the courtesy of getting a Declaration of War from Congress, the people's representative. The saddest part is that you support a candidate who would commit 5 generations of American men and women to a war that was never even declared by Congress, as mandated in our Constitution...you know, that document that is the supreme law of the land. Pathetic.

Summer Seale - you sound rather intelligent but, based on what I have read so far - I'm pretty sure you have a hidden agenda for your stance against Ron Paul - you have to be a paid Juan McWar staff. It can't be any other reason.
4000 innocent people died because of intelligence failure on our part. We so carelessly gave the jihadist visas, let them in here, take classes only to fly (ignored reports about that) and kill our citizens. The response to that is to go to a country that had nothing to do with it and kill 100,000 innocent people and let die 4000 more of our men and women while making 2 million flee their homes to Iran and Syria. I hope Syria and Iran will make their bomb sooner just so they can save their citizens from our Thuggy policy.
And by the way, 7 years later in this war that you are so passionate about - where is Osama? If we are fighting terrorism - shouldn't we start by looking for him?
Posted by: Baba Padmanabhan | Apr 30, 2008 10:37:24 PM
summer, don't take the paulites word on this war, please read an article called"warisaracket". it was written by a military general (you would probably sleep with a general if he promised to kill a bunch of muslims). i have never met anyone so passionate about killing before. did a muslim break your heart or something? somethings going on here. tell us. get it off your chest, you'll feel better. then maybe you'll have an open mind to real change. a much needed change. wish you could see it.

Sicne you apparantly dislike the Constitution what about it would you change?
Posted by: Jason | Apr 30, 2008 11:18:38 PM
duderino,
why don't we intern the muslims in our country while we're at it?
I'm a Ron Paul supporter and I don't support the war, because they're ignorant on how to fight it. I mean really stupid. Policing Iraq NO, killing the enemy OK. But we should have issued Letters or Marque (Constititional) and tracked the masterminds of 9-11 like the Jews did in in retaliation for the muslim murders in Munich. This would allow us to sneak into Saudia Arabia to get the real bad guys. Ron Paul supports getting Bin Laden. He doesn't supprt what we're doing in Iraq because its a humanitarian mission, not kill the enemy. With special forces and the CIA resources they could have nabbed Bin Laden in a few months. The reason we haven't got him is 100% political.
So keep supporting an ineffective and expensive method of war fighting and I'll stick with the smart guy.

It is typical of ABC news to spread disinformation about the Ron Paul campaign for president. He never once said he can't win the race, and has never thrown in the towel for your information! Ron Paul is one of the wisest statesmen we have had since the founders! This book is a brilliant legacy for all Americans, except, sadly, for the 'mind-controlled' ones who need this book the most! He is here to stay and his message will become more and more ubiquitous as those responsible for their 'Project for a New American Century' neo cons, with the help of their (Council on Foreign Relations)buddies, the left-wing democrats, destroy what is left of our sovereignty.
All I can say to those who point fingers at him and accuse him of anti-semitism and racism is yes, by your 'political correctness' mental triggers, you must perceive him as you are told you will. For those of us who prefer to 'think for ourselves', he is one of the most intelligent statesmen ever who has consistently protected our Constitution and Bill of Rights for 32 years. He will one day prove the turtle will win the race in the long run! I am a proud State delegate for Ron Paul's message, and support his campaign wholeheartedly!

It is sad to see such hatred. Obviously has issues, or has really been effectively indoctrinated into the fascist hate machine. Most of us are more concerned with living our own lives, not ending those of others. Dr. Paul is the only one who will mention monetary policy, which is at the root of ALL of our social and economic problems. If you learn nothing except this, and America realizes that faulty policies and corrupt government institutions can and should be eliminated, no matter how large they have been allowed to become, then maybe we will have a future.
Posted by: Marc | May 1, 2008 12:05:41 AM
Okay, Brian, that's enough. When you start calling people traitors because they support a particular candidate, you're digging in deep. This is an insult and a disgraceful way to view alternative viewpoints. Facts are, Bush did lie, about a thousand times (but who is counting?) I really don't like the dichotomy you are establishing here--we "accept what is, sheepishly" and be loyal, or we disagree and be branded as traitors. This kind of dichotomy does not exist anywhere where choice is concerned: what if I don't like a particular football team, or a particular politician, or a store? But to brand people as traitors, maybe you should start reading the Constitution and analyzing the facts before you start this rhetorical claptrap. Or are you so starry-eyed in love with "the leadership" that you can't admit you've been screwed and lied to?

My apologies to Brian. I misread the signature. It seems that my comment should be dispensed to Leila.

Summer Seale, I am not surprised that you support McCain and not Ron Paul. You are a supporter of continuous war, you call yourself evil, seem to love the thought of mass, violent deaths and are seething with hatred towards the faceless "enemy."
You also call Ron Paul a total idiot and "nutter" -- but if you and he arrived at the insane asylum at the same time and you told them your violent, murderous thoughts, who do you think they would admit first?

Dear humanity,
We have reached an extermely bewildering time. There are social engineers that have been obeying their masters, and thus created many illusions. There are people that evidently solidify their delisuions when one states that they might possibly benifit from a rethinking. I think we should shake them a bit by saying "Summer seale I wish that you find peace, love, and happiness." If you are fearful of your community or state, MOVE TO CANADA! America is going down hard. We can all feel that the Doctor is not likely to win; the implications we do not know. The big three each seem INSANE to proponents of truth, liberty, and justice. Have the courage to leave 'your' country behind in company of loved ones. The world is becoming less fearfull of america's imposition.

"'ABC News' Z. Byron Wolf Reports: Texas Congressman Ron Paul has "wound down" his campaign for the Republican presidential nomination, although his supporters continue to make a showing at state conventions from Missouri to Nevada - even even causing a ruckus that required the Nevada convention to be temporarily shut down."
That's an outright lie. I watched Ron Paul on a Bloomberg Night Talk interview last night, and he says he has not dropped out of the race, and there is absolutely not any breath of him "winding down" his campaign.
You guys just love tryig to sideline the man and did your best to ignore him. But even if he decided to quit tomorrow. I'd still vote for him. Because the people that are running other than Ron Paul are the same old, same old. The same campaign lies. Telling everyone what they want to hear. I'm sick of it. Ask Congress and Hillary Clinto about owning the profits they made from the companies that are getting the big contracts in Iraq. 151 Congressmen are making profits from contractors in Iraq.
And after all the crap all of you pulled with the Pentagon Pundits you have enough nerve to put a lie like this in print. Pfffshaw it's sickening Just disgusting.
I'm sick and tired of media lies and the manipulation of the facts, and the lies by Congress and President. You all need to take a short jump off a long pier together.
I am so disgusted by this mess that I don't intend to let it lay. I'm going to hang on to this and keep it fresh in people's minds for a long, long time to come.
Oh and the causing a ruckus. Ron Paul folks were getting delegate spots and the Republicans didn't like it to much so they broke the rules and closed down the convention. Then there was a ruckus. Get your story straight. I've already seen the videos. If the people that read your lies believe you, that is because they don't have enough get up and go to do the research, and find out what's really going on.
I'm so disgusted with it all, I can't find enough words to express how much!
I'm forty six years old and I've seen a lot of political BS in my lifetime, but what has been going on this year is despicable. I've also learned I can't depend on you guys for truthful reporting.
You all completely igmored the Winter Warriors didn't you? Even foriegn countries reported on that one. Truth in Media? What truth? Yours? Ethics in media? FOMCROTFLMBO.
Don't worry I won't post any more replies. Your lies made me so angry I just had to refute them. And I'm not some twenty something rabble rousing Paulite. So much for you media guys labeling Ron Paul's supporters as the young and disenfranchised.
I'm mature and tired of the BS. And sick and tired of being made sick and tired by it.

Is ABCNews a limited press, free press or bias?
I've noticed that all Dr. Paul articles almost always end up in blogs.
The other three clowns are favorably front page daily but Dr. Paul.
Is it possible that the author and his colleagues are “limited” to only blogs on the subject of Dr. Paul?
The only genuine choice with ideas and sound solutions for this ailing country?

Perhaps when you pick up Ron Paul's new book, you might want to read the 911 Commission Report for yourself to see what happened.

Considering the 3 we have now....I will write in my vote.....there is also a man, Charles Baldwin running, that sounds good to me.
We do need a 3rd Party, and maybe a 4th!

I like Ron Paul too. I would love to see him run as an Independent candidate. Ron Paul is a patriot, a believer (and supporter) of the UNITED STATES CONSTITUTION, and deserves to be treated with more respect for what he is trying to do for his/my/our country.

Unlike the masses that tend to follow whatever they hear on radio or TV or read in the paper, I am fortunately able to discern right from wrong, good from bad. Ron Paul is the best man for the job. I am looking forward to reading Ron Paul's book as much as I am looking forward to writing his name on the ballot for President of the United States of America (what's left of the U.S.A. anyway)I don't feel a need to disrespect other candidates by calling them or their followers names, we need to get beyond that. Life is not a free ride of handouts and gimmee's. It is time we learn this hard reality, roll up our sleeves and start rebuilding this country.

If Ron Paul got out his message like everyone else, why are so many misinformed about him. I wear a Paul campaign button much of the time, and from the comments people make it is obvious the public has many misconceptions of him. That he has ended his campaign. That he is the Libertarian candidate. That he is a third party candidate. Who is he? Where is he from? The public is still ignorant of Paul, and his message. Since he speaks clearly and to the issues, what other reason could there be other than his marginalization by the press?
Posted by: william | May 1, 2008 8:21:53 AM
To the person that said, "Everyone has heard about Ron Paul." Not true. I randomly asked 30 people in supermarkets and retail stores and more than 75% had no idea who he was.

Hey Rhys,
I thought this was a Republic!?
Posted by: Mark Twine | May 1, 2008 9:11:51 AM
Ron Paul's candidacy did two things. It got many people thinking about the best ways to preserve and strengthen freedom and limit government. It also demonstrated how many people would vote for an honest man for president. Quite a few, but not enough. Snake oil will attract more voters.

Ron Paul or any other freedom / US Constitution loving candidate will always be marginalized by the global cabal. Freedom;limited government; responsible, intelligent, informed citizens;national boundaries are all anathema to the globalists. I intend to get and read Mr. Paul's book. And I intend to write in his name on my ballot just as I have done for the past 4 presidential elections. Give freedom a chance !!!!

Don't be one of the sheep...don't vote for one of the three corporate candidates.
The only hope to save this country is a vote for Ron Paul...wake up America, time to throw the bums out.

Ron Paul is a national treasure.
Posted by: Art | May 1, 2008 10:47:31 AM
To understand who Ron Paul is one need only check out his voting record. That should tell you everything one needs to know. Small govt, more freedom, less interference in our private lives... sounds great to me.
Posted by: Char | May 1, 2008 10:52:23 AM
Of course, why would modern-day Americans desire a political leader who actually adhered to the Constitution and the principles of the Founding Fathers?
Posted by: Constructionist | May 1, 2008 11:07:26 AM
Ron Paul supporters caused a ruckus at the Nevada convention. LOL!!! Just like we did in the Louisiana primary also I suppose? Need I remind you that McCain didn't win Nevada? I guess if you are labeled as a "fringe" candidate (thanks to MSM) trying to win is seen as causing a "ruckus". The semblance of democracy in this country is fast fading.. and our Republic is crumbling. Quite sad.
There IS a solution - and it's very simple, short and concise - it's called the CONSTITUTION OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA. you know, that piece of paper we signed 220 years ago?
Posted by: Jeff | May 1, 2008 11:08:56 AM
Oh, Summer,Summer, you are clearly mis-informed. Ron Paul did not write that rhetoric to which you refer. that's why it died so quickly. There was no backup to the claim. Catch up to the truth, okay, so you don't keep passing on bogus info. Thanks.
RP WAS/IS disenfranchised by the main stream media. Giving him 30 seconds to answer a question, while the other "lead" candidates get 1 to 2 minutes and laughing behind him while he tries to get out as much as he can, is disenfranchisement. He is still running, how much main stream media attention is he getting? Next-to-none to none.
If folks would stop and listen to what he has to say, I mean there are over 174,000 YT videos you could watch to educate yourself (more than all the candidates), they might discover that the things he espouses, they want too. But, no, they are going to vote to keep another candidate out or they are going to vote the party line, even tho they can't mention what the platform is of that candidate, or they will let the media tell them who to vote for or they will vote for another candidate cuz they think Dr. Paul can't win (if all the latter voted for him, he could win). Doesn't anyone research, check voting records, and think for themselves anymore?
I can't wait to get my copy of the book. I only wish I could get it autographed.
On a side note, the gas tax cut that McCain and now Hillary are talking about; well, Ron Paul put forth that idea, but to completely eliminate the tax, back in October 2005 with his HR 4004. Funny how the candidates are trying to be him, copying his tax cut idea, copying his mantra of following the constitution. How about folks vote for the real thing. Ron Paul for President 2008
Vote for who SHOULD be president, not for who COULD be president.

Ron Paul was the last chance for this country to revert back to being a republic instead of a democracy. The younger generation and many of the older generation believe that our government is a democracy and it slowly is becoming one. Democracy is just another word for Socialism and socialism always turns into a dictatorship where individuals are granted their rights by the government. Our younger generation have been trained by the socialists and, well, quite frankly, the socialists have won. Once the got control of our educational system, it was game, set, match.
What we send to the federal government in taxes, we should send to our state governments and vice versa. Currently there is a movement in Indiana to eliminate county government. The next step will be to eliminate State governments. Then our guns will be taken from us and religion outlawed. And then we will made slaves to the federal government.
I'm registered as a republican but have been voting liberatian since Bush senior got elected. He was and is a socialist.
Then GWB got elected and he is insane or controlled by someone.
I voted democratic in the last election because I thought that if we got enough democrats elected they'd impeach, convict and imprison GWB and Cheney.
The democrats got the majority but did not listen to or acknowledge the people's mandate.
Which, in my mind proves that the repusicans and the demobrats are in bed together and they are both working against their constituates.
I'm looking into moving to Mexico or Jamaica, this country is done for.
Crap, I even donated a thousand dollars to the Ron Paul campaign. It was all the savings I had. I've tried to save you socialists from yourselves, but have failed. You deserve your fate for not being willing to actually read history and think about the downfalls of socialism. You believe that the only relevent information comes from the idiot box. Guess you couldn't figure out that the media companies are owned by the socialists.
Goodbye Land of the Free I will miss thee.

I think its official Summer Seale, you are misunderstanding. Im not just being mean but it seems you really haven't studied your stuff. You seem to also be missing the hard cold fact that Paul was marginalized by a liberal media with a very plain agenda. Simply look at stats on the covering of Paul's campaign as compared to others. Even after Paul broke historical records of support. Why didn't they ask any other candidates about their involvement with racists? Or Clinton's use of Jew as a derogatory statement? Or the others overlooking of the rule of law. Im an Afro-Hispanic immigrant by the way. You've missed the media's deliberately incorrect language when addressing Paul issues. I understand you have differences with him, I also have my own. However we have to at least see what's in front of our faces. Maybe purchase the book so you can here the unfiltered story from Paul's brain THEN disagree with it, because right now it seems you're merely repeating media mantras rather than really addressing anything that Ron Paul actually says and thinks.
