Clinton Adviser: She's Fighting to Last Primary

ABC News Radio's Ann Compton reports: Accusing Sen. Barack Obama of being "scared" of campaigning in West Virginia, Clinton adviser Terry McAuliffe tells ABC News Radio in an interview to air tonight  that Sen. Hillary Clinton will remain in the race through the last primary on June 3rd, "100 percent."

McAuliffe argues there are still six-million registered Democrats in five states voting in the final primaries.

Listen to the full interview HERE.

McAuliffe says he will worry about campaign debt after the primaries end June 3rd, claiming that online fundraising remains "steady " for Clinton, and that the campaign has just bought additional advertising time in Oregon and Kentucky and is opening more offices in the final primary states.

Obama has now passed Clinton in the number of superdelegates publicly committed, but McAuliffe claims there "hasn't been the avalanche" of pundits predicted after the narrow Indiana vote last week.

When asked about the chemistry between the two Democrats, McAuliffe insisted they have  "tremendous respect for  one another." He added "there is no question they will have to work together in some capacity in the fall  election"  to elect a Democrat president.

Let the remaining contests proceed without prejudice against Hillary and those who have every right to vote for her. I sure wouldn't want to be on an Obama ticket and taking a second place, inconsequential position to a man. You know what will happen? Obama will constantly be bothering Hillary for advice, direction, and counsel, since he's so inexperienced and disconnected with the real world. Essentially she'll be the President, but without benefit of title, credit or recognition. Sadly, this is no different than how many other jobs function where a woman who is superior in every way to the man is shoved to the back.

First of all, I find it laughable that a person would post about how inhabitants of WV can't read while they apparently can't formulate a grammatically correct sentence. Nice.

Secondly, of COURSE she's in it until the end. Anyone who really thought she'd throw in the towel when she has the Oval Office in her sights is incredibly naive.

Lastly, rather than show incredible immaturity and ignorance by railing against the people who populate a particular state of the Union, perhaps the posters here could stick to making intelligent statements that actually pertain to policy and procedure.

Brian, I don't think generalizing and stereotyping helps anything.

This is driving me nuts. Hillary supporters act like Obama is this terrible person and Hillary has done no wrong. Both have run negative campaigns at times, both have been caught saying something that has hurt them. To act like one candidate is perfect and the other is terrible is ridiculous. Hillary supports, are you really saying that she has never gone negative, never tried to scare up votes (3 am ad), never been caught "misspeaking"? Obama has his flaws but so does Hillary. What really matters are the issues. They have the same view on all the major issues and Hillary herself would tell you to vote for Obama over McCain. I am a Republican that supports Obama, but I guess if McCain wins then he will appoint two new Supreme Court judges and get Roe vs. Wade overturned which would make me happy but make women mad.

Obama has won in red states. Look at the map. Georgia, N.C., S.C., Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana, etc. are "RED" states that will go to McCain. Obama has been lucky in a few other states including Iowa which is not capable of pickinga winner (they really need to do away with that silly Iowa caucus thing), but that was BEFORE the media started exposing his elitist attitude, his racist leanings, his wife's anti-american, anti-white views, etc. Everytime he gets in trouble, he throws somebody under the bus. Hey, maybe it's time he threw his wife under the bus along with his "crazy old uncle" spiritual advisor and his "typical white grandmother".

Hillary is a terrible candidate in every dimension. Most of the people in the country do not like her and she has no inspirational ability - after decades of lying about every aspect of her life.

History will write it that way - now that we are out of this silly season of good old boy politics. Thank goodness.

Unless this is no longer the United States of America, Hillary has the right to continue her campaign. I know of no law that forbids Hillary from doing what she is doing to win the Office of POTUS. Each of us can vote for whomever we choose, for whatever reason motivates us. We all need to calm down.

if the super delegates wanted to back hillary they would have already, they do not want to over ride the people who have yet to vote. They are waiting until the end of the primaries.

Can anyone tell me how many super delegates Obama has received since Super Tuesday?

and how many has Clinton received?

even in california there are supers in areas SHE has won, that remain uncommitted. they do not want to over turn the will of the people, and are waiting for obama to become the nominee so they can back him just like the others....

its been over for a long time, we are now just letting this finish up.

If clinton were to go on the attack against obama tomorrow, the supers woudl end it.

Hillary just needs to go away after June 3rd, preferably sooner. But oh well, it's her money not mine. LOL. Fool that she is.

People like Terry McAuliffe and Mark Penn are Senator Clinton's biggest liability. Do these people ever ask themselves why Senator Clinton is losing? But then again, why bother? She already lost. And if she doesn't work hard to win back her African American support, she might not be NY's senator by 2012.

Viva Hillary.

Stay in the race, you are going to be the President Of The United States. My Vote and parayer is with you.

Go on and Stay Strong.

Hillary doesn't need to worry about regaining the black voters support as much as BHO just needs to worry about getting a vote from the white middle class voters.

I hope that Hillary fights for her campaign through the August convention and WINS.
Enough of obama - he is ready to declare himself a winner? Of what? Of creating the largest mass of cult followers ever? I have read that only the most intelligent and most educated are followers of obama - so then why, have they allowed themselves to become weak and the most hateful political followers ever? Where are obama's policies on change? What is he going to change? Where is it written that we can read about his changes? They don't exist. Obama is a media creation, an empty suit without leadership qualities who will be the puppet to Teddy Kennedy, John Kerry-Heinz and Joe Biden. These three ran for president and LOST. Now they have found a weakling who can be manipulated into anything and decided he will be president. Next there is the DNC which has clearly been divided by Howard Dean and Nancy Peolsi who are panting to have obama in office - again, it is their intent to manipulate. Up go the taxes so the taxpayers can pay more to the welfare recipients, more free day care, more food stamps, more taking away from the seniors of this country. Obmams is so tied to these people that he won't think without them. Never mind that he has radical ties with anti-Americans - these three don't care. What they are looking for is someone who can preach you into giving more of your money. When the economics of this country get so bad that they cannot be reversed, they will dump on the working people in this country and ding you once again.
If Hillary isn't nominated, then John McCain will become president, which is just fine. As long as it will not be obama. There is news coming out from O'Reilly that he is going to have more on the Ayers/obama relationship this week and how far into Chicago type politics obama is and how much responsibility and how much money was used by the Chicago political machine, and what role Ayers has played in the obama campaign. I hope O'Reilly blows obama right out of the water with this.

The only people that are asking for Clinton to "go away" are Obama supporters. You people seem a little nervous to me that he has not been able to close the deal. His popularity has dwindled since people started finding out a little about him (other than his small resume and his being an extremly far left liberal)and Clinton's popularity is rising. She will win the popular vote.

Hey Eric,

A little history lesson for you. WV voted for Dukakis and Bill Clinton twice. Yet Al Gore ignored the state and lost WV and the Presidency with it. Florida would of been irrelevant.

The election will be called for McCain before the polls close in Oregon.

Yes Hillary drop out so that you don't hurt Obama more than he has already hurt himself with his proven lack of character and judgment. He is unelectable in the GE.

Hillary has a very strong base and Obama cannot defeat her. Obama has several donors that give him small amounts of money. Hillary's donors are maxing out their donations, they worship her and won't let her down. They won't take Barack Obama.

All this talk about a black man not being able to win is nonsense. Gen. Colin Powell could have won the Presidency 8 years ago if he had wanted it. America has been ready for a black President for a decade. It's just that American isn't ready for THIS black President.

What is the point of continuing when you already know the outcome?

She talks about fighting, but its looks like its reality shes fighting.

Hillary, we support you all the way- tune out what all the Obamaites and media types are saying - they want to push you out of the race but we know you are simply the best for the job.

Obama will be trounced in November - I won't vote for him if he is the last person standing. The 2-party system is arcane and doesn’t reflect the 21st century. The Democratic Party represents Obama’s base – blacks, the affluent and aging liberals. The country is center-right. What I have seen of Obama, his campaign and his surrogates have convinced me that he will be a terrible choice. The message of hope and unity is just advertisement - Obama doesn't believe in it - he is using the liberals and anti-women sentiments to get himself elected. He has no moral standards (despite his demeanor) other than to advance his and his wife's agenda.
