Clinton Continues to Paint Obama as Out of Touch

ABC News' Eloise Harper reports: Sen. Hillary Clinton, D-NY, landed in Indiana Monday and picked up where she left off yesterday – hammering Sen. Barack Obama, D-Ill., hard on the gas tax.

"I think it’s a false choice as my opponent and others have been trying to say. ‘Oh we can’t do anything in the short run to help people – we can only worry (about) the long run.’ People live in the short run. People get up every day and have to go fill up their tanks."

Clinton wanted the people of Merrillville, IN to know that she understands the value of the dollar.  Speaking about her plan to have the oil companies pay the gas tax this summer Clinton said, "My opponent Senator Obama, he disagrees with me. He wants you to pay it. Not the oil companies. And he’s always going on TV, and he’s always saying ‘oh you know that’s just like $20 dollars.’ Well you know for a lot people $20 dollars is something right? $20 dollars means something."

Clinton pointed out the importance of the race tomorrow in a larger context – but the outcome in Indiana is equally critical for the survival of her campaign. "Tomorrow is consequential. Every election is important. But this one holds special significance. Because after what we have been through these last seven years – we know we’ve got to get a hold of our country."

Concluding her remarks, Clinton pointed to a sign she had seen in the audience and said, "I do see you, and I do hear you. I do believe that you’re doing the best you can under difficult circumstances and were going to get in there and we’re going to reverse these circumstances but in the meantime lets provide a little help along the way. So you feel like you’ve got some leadership again."

"He wants you to pay it. Not the oil companies."

That is a straight lie and Clinton knows it. According to independent factcheck.org as well as numerous experts, it is Clintons (and McCains) plan that will most likely benefit the oil companies, while not helping gas comsumers. In fact, they predict that it might end up increasing them.

On top of being so obviously wrong, does she have to go and lie about her opponent? How low can she go?

Clinton's "ideas" are non-ideas, empty and devoid of meaning, e.g. the gas tax gimmick. She's blatantly pandering to the less-educated.

I hate to the 109 million dollar lady - $30 bucks in my pocket over a four month period ain't cuttin it. Besides - isn't she talking out of both sides of her mouth - we'll let big oil pay for the tax - in the meanwhile they will just jack up the price to recoup their loss - more of the same from Clintons

Saying “our relationship has changed” will not ensure that Pastor Jeremiah Wright, Ayes, Rezko, Meeks, and Farrakhan will not be invited by a President Barack Obama to the White House. Once Sen. Obama clearly states that “I have will not have any relationship“ with these individuals, then Obama will clearly tell Americans that he has broken ties with his friends of 20 years.

Honest American’s don’t need much to wonder about the Senator from Illinois. Each time he talks, it is one lie after another. His most recent slip was today when Obama told the teamsters that if they have a friend in the White House, they could get things done. Sure does not sound like a new type of politician. Same old politician except the Senator from Illinois isn’t honest enough to tell the truth. When I hear Sen. Barack Obama say that he will not have “any relationship” with his mentor and spiritual guide Pastor Jeremiah Wright, Rezko, Farankam, and Ayers, then I will believe that once in the White House he won’t claim forgiveness when Obama has these individuals in the White House.

Forgot to mention Sen. Hillary Clinton stated her summer tax plan is part of her long-term plan (O'Rielly Factor interview). Unlike the unknowledgable and inexperienced Senator from Illinois, Sen. Clinton knows how to help all Americans.

Nicholas, all those democrates you mentioned had to win the nomination fair and square. Clinton was the overwhelming favorite in December to have it in the bag by February 5. But she blew it. Why? Well just maybe she's the one who's the loser.

Hillary Clinton: an empty pantsuit (no lapel pin), drinking shots and beers, riding in pickup trucks. Pandering. Oh yeah, this is presidential material.

IS $30 DOLLARS SPREAD OUT OVER 3 MONTHS - YOU GET THAT PEOPLE. MAYBE YOU THINK IT'S $30 DOLLARS A MONTH? IT'S NOT SO IT'S MORE LIKE $10 DOLLARS A MONTH. WHAT THE HELL CAN YOU DO WITH AN EXTRA $30 DOLLARS OVER THE SUMMER? BEND OVER YOU COMPLETE TOOLS!

There is nothing ABC news can do to stop Sen. Clinton from becoming President. About three years ago a well known televangelist, Perry Stone Jr., told his congregation that God spoke to him and said Sen. Clinton will be the next President. This information can be obtained from one of his published works on CD entitled “Strange Patterns of Recent American Presidents.” On track 7 of this CD, he tells us that Sen. Clinton will once again be in the White House. So give it up ABC News. And Barack, your days are numbered.

Clinton's "ideas" are non-ideas, empty and devoid of meaning, e.g. the gas tax gimmick.... only to a greenie.

If you cannot understand what she so clearly says, perhaps it's because you are to used to Obama's "ummph ump uh..
and duhs".

In fact, one of the reasons one shouldn't vote for Obama... is because he's GREEN!

"I am getting increasingly nervous that Obama won't do well tomorrow."

But it doesn't matter. The people have already chosen.

eyes open - If you opened your EARS maybe you would understand that what Cinton says are empty ideas and empty solutions designed solely to dupe the American public into electing her. After she's elected it'll be business as usual in Washington.

The American people are tired of Obama and his black liberation church and pastor , and Michelle and his stammerings. He never be president of the United States of America.

obama will never be president. read clinton's plan to go nuclear on him, it is brilliant.

The problem with the gas tax cut is a lot of that $30 would go to into the pockets of the oil companies and distributors, not the people who need help so you and I do not receive anything near $30. That is but one of the reasons no economists back this idea. Desperately wanting to "do something because people are hurting" leads to more harm than good. A thoughtful candidate would propose sending the $30 (or some other amount) to usd directly so it actually gets to us and not big oil. Oh wait, one candidate did suggest that.

The Bo supporters are so short sighted, only thinking of 30 bucks they could get with the gas taxes. They never understood, especially Bo, that is Obama himself, that the tax reduction will help to stimulate the economy, by reducing the costs of transportation, thereby reducing the costs of your food, groceries, clothing, and everything you purchase. This means you will have more money, not just simply the 30 bucks gas dollars you saved, but much more associated with other people's savings. Therefore, you'd spend more, and the economy will recover sooner.

Either Bo never understood it, which disqualifies him as a pres., or he pretends he does not to deceive people by saying anything to win elections, in which case he should be disqualified by the voters by not giving him a vote.

All the "experts" economists in this country last June, July, August, September 2007 said that the country was not heading toward a recession. Some say we are not in a recession right now and that everything is okay. Why did the "feds" spend billions and billions of our tax dollars to bail out banks and help the stock market then? All of the "experts" said that gas would not climb about $3.00 a gallon last year in September, October and November. Thank you Hillary for trying to bring whatever relief than you can to our country. The "experts" may prefer nothing is done, just more talk and debate, like Obama who is still thinking about how to address his 20 years with his church.

fat cat, that is just not true. Please do the research. Obama is right on this one as are all the economists. But of course Hillary won't listen to the specialists because she thinks she is right. OMG, sounds like George W Bush to me. And you know the rest.
