Clinton Demands Florida, Michigan Votes Count

Share

May 21, 2008 4:50 PM

ABC's Eloise Harper reports: In her most emphatic argument yet for counting the votes in Michigan and Florida, Sen. Hillary Clinton, D-NY, traveled Wednesday to Palm Beach County, Florida –- ground zero for hanging chads and the vote-count controversy of the 2000 election.

Clinton argued for including Michigan and Florida’s delegates in the selection of a party nominee, as well as counting the popular vote in those states. She argued that the popular vote tally should determine the election outcome, instead of the delegate count.

Watch the VIDEO HERE.

“We believe that the outcome of our elections should be determined by the will of the people. Nothing more. Nothing less. And we believe the popular vote is the truest expression of your will. We believe it today just as we believed it back in 2000 when right here in Florida you learned the hard way what happens when your votes aren’t counted and a candidate with fewer votes is determined the winner.”A

And today, Senator Barack Obama’s campaign showed a glimmer of compromise on the Michigan and Florida delegate controversy. Obama’s chief strategist David Axelrod told National Public Radio’s All Things Considered: “We are open to comprise.  We are willing to go more than half way.  We’re willing to work to make sure that we can achieve a compromise.  And I guess the question is: is Senator Clinton’s campaign willing to do the same?”

The Democratic Party boycotted the Florida and Michigan primaries when those states moved up the dates of their primaries against the wishes of the Party, disrupting its intended primary calendar.  Clinton and Sen. Barack Obama, D-Ill, honored that boycott and did not campaign in those states; Obama’s name did not even appear on the Michigan ballot.

But Clinton now says she wants to see those votes cast in Florida and Michigan counted. “I believe the Democratic Party must count these votes. They should count them exactly as they were cast. I am here today because I believe the decision our party faces is not just about the fate of these votes and the outcome of these primaries. It is about whether we will uphold our most fundamental values as Democrats and Americans.”

“Each of us should have an equal voice in determining the destiny of our nation.  A generation of patriots risked and sacrificed lives on the battlefield for that ideal,” Clinton said.

Clinton then called on her opponent to join her in demanding that Florida and Michigan be counted.

“I believe that both Senator Obama and myself have an obligation as potential Democratic nominees -- in fact, we all have an obligation as Democrats to carry on this legacy and ensure that in our nominating process every voices is heard and that every single vote is counted.”

Making the comparison to the Florida recount during the 2000 election, Clinton said “The lesson of 2000 here in Florida is crystal clear. If any votes aren’t counted the will of the people isn’t realized and our democracy is diminished.”

Clinton also referenced the court decision that ended the 2000 recount quagmire: “Your Supreme Court said it’s not about the technicalities or about the contestants it's about the will of the people and whenever you we can understand their intent it should govern. Well it’s very clear what the 1.7 million people intended here in Florida.”

Clinton received more votes in Florida, when it held its primary election. However, since both candidates boycotted the race and did not campaign there, it is unknown how many voters skipped going to the polls that day.

Clinton appealed to the local audience saying, “The fact is the people of Florida voted back in January you did your part you showed up in record numbers and you made informed choices but today some months later you still don’t know if these votes will help determine our party’s nominee. You still don’t know if this great state will be represented at our convention in August. It is time you knew. because the more than 2.3 million people who voted in Florida and Michigan exercised their fundamental American right in good faith.” She continued, “You did not break a single rule and you should not be punished.”

Clinton explained that she does not agree with critics who argue she is changing the  late in the game. “Some say that counting Florida and Michigan would be changing the rules. I say that not counting Michigan and Florida is changing a central governing rule of this country.”

If you believe in Jeffersonian democracy, then, an election is determined by majority by the principle of one person one vote.

Obama has already beaten her, and he will do it with one state tied behind his back.

Hundreds of years? That I know of, she's the first woman to run for president. Okay... anyone can be a "monster"--men or women. Annie Oakley??! Did you prefer to use "Indiana Jones" or "GI Joe"?? Glen Close character? So what, let's argue the racist bid then...? Hasn't Obama been the target of racism??

This is pretty easy really. Hillary just stays in the race until early June, at which time, the superdelegates will be obliged to weigh in. They will of course weigh in heavily and overwhelmingly for Obama. Then, after the nomination is confirmed by the DNC rules, the great states of MI and FL can be awarded as many delegates as the DNC deems fair, split, as is, one-half, etc. No doubt FL and MI will proudly represent in Denver. Why all the hot air from HIllary today in FL? She doesn't want to count all the votes, or she would be adding in the large number of votes cast in caucus states too. Why not?Not to worry! It's so easy, and all this wretched hand-wringing and pleading on HIllary's part is so unnecessary and pathetic. You can't just change and make up some new rules to steal an election. We're not that stupid.

Posted by: Jan | May 21, 2008 5:11:51 PM

Obama has not won the election even if he stands on his head and eats a banana. Hillary has won the popular vote regardless of what the party says and If she does not win then John McCain.

Posted by: Anders Scooper | May 21, 2008 5:13:45 PM

To those who say Obama needs Hillary's supporters to win? Yup, true story.

Do you think Hillary might need Obama's supporters to win?

Now let me ask you this, do you think she will get Obama's supporters? I wouldn't count on those poll results that have said only about 20% of his supporters would not vote Hillary.

It matters how this thing is won to both sides. It just does.

Posted by: WORKS BOTH WAYS | May 21, 2008 5:14:06 PM

I have to view this as little more than "poisoning the well" against Obama for the general election campaign.
Clinton could have given just this sort of speech in Michigan, which has proposed a compromise solution to the DNC, but that would have entailed her campaigning AGAINST the state's own proposed compromise.

In truth, seating the Florida delegates as per its outlaw primary does Clinton no real good, or, at least, not enough good to matter in the end.  The + 38 delegates she might get out of Florida under her best case scenario will not approach Obama's delegate lead, nor will the popular vote differential be enough to put her over the top.

It's Michigan that she needs, but it's to Florida that she goes, stalking Obama there as he tries to somehow make "peace" with the Florida voters, but skipping over her opportunity to challenge the Michigan compromise in Michigan when Obama was there.

I suppose it is beyond what you so highly educated BHO fans could remotely comprehend. HRC is campaigning to help BHO to get the MI and FL counted so that he could remotely have a shot at it, although it is all but certain that BHO will lose anyhow.

You are not gonna win back the poor, less-educated, bitter people. They will go back to cling their guns and God.

Posted by: lazy to think | May 21, 2008 5:15:16 PM

Why don't people look at this issue from the other side? I am sure there were millions of voters who didn't go to the polls because they thought the vote wouldn't count? Aren't they just as disenfranchised? It isn't just about those who voted, but also about those who did not because they were playing by the rules. there are two sides of this issue and Senator Clinton cannot argue one side only.

Posted by: Jan | May 21, 2008 5:17:10 PM

IF SHE WAERE AHEAD IN DELAGATES THEN IT WOULD BE THE DELAGATE COUNT THAT MATTERS, NOT POP VOTES. SHE IA A CHEAT,CHEAT,CHEAT I CAN'T BELEIVE THIS WOMAN HAS ANY SUPPORTERS

Posted by: PROUD AA | May 21, 2008 5:17:51 PM

There are no ethical limits for this woman. Lies, Lies and more lies... Soon, Hillary will be telling us that Obama wants to sell all Floridians and Michiganites into slavery, or send them to a crematorium!!!!! Edwards, Gore, etc, where are you? This conduct needs to be denounced publicly, strongly and NOW!!!!

Posted by: harold | May 21, 2008 5:18:07 PM

Uh, this is a private political party primary. This has nothing to do with "voting rights."

As someone stated quite eloquently, the party could draw straws to pick a candidate.

Primary's are not in the US Constitution.

True. So, where were you when she said let's have a re-vote months ago? Obama didn't want it.

Clinton's call to seat the delegates of Florida and Michigan really appear to be self serving......

Posted by: tony | May 21, 2008 5:19:23 PM

I agree with Senator Clinton. All votes should be counted. Senator Obama wants to win by default and corruption. He knew he could not win Michigan so he removed him name from the ballot. And even though he had TV ads out for Florida he did not win the majority of those votes either. He is a flake and a fraud. He thinks all rules should benefit his campaign.

Imagine that you are watching the world series. One team is ahead of the other by 3 runs in the bottom of the ninth inning with two outs. The coach of the losing team convinces the umpire to give his team an extra 2 runs and extend the game for three more innings. Now I ask you, if that fair? NO!! Well that is exactly what Hillary is trying pull in this election.

IT'S TIME FOR THE SUPERDELEGATES TO ACT AND END THIS GAME!

Posted by: Boston Guy | May 21, 2008 5:21:23 PM

bhrandon,

For what exactly?

Posted by: President | May 21, 2008 5:22:00 PM

Even if Hillary doesn't win this one with the DNC Credentials Committee, the voters in Florida and Michigan will remember that it was Hillary Clinton who fought to get their delegations seated and their votes counted.

It doesn't matter how we got to this point, who's right or who's wrong, whether rules were broken.

If Democrats have any hope of winning in November, the voters in Michigan and Florida must feel as if the Democrats care about them.

The only one showing them any love has been Hillary Clinton. The DNC and the Obama campaign would be wise to follow suit.

Because no matter how much the DNC was attempting to "control" rogue states, the voters in those two states hold the power to choose the next President of the United States.

So, it's time to kiss and make up.

I was undecided before watching this woman in action. Now I don't understand how anyone would even want to be around her. What is wrong with this woman? Everything she's done in her campaign shows that she's not capable or worthy of the position -- not that the other candidates are either, but she's in a class by herself!

Posted by: ac | May 21, 2008 5:23:14 PM

SUPERDELEGATES are spineless.

Posted by: Student | May 21, 2008 5:23:28 PM

President,

You are wrong, they both favored a revote in MI. Obama wanted to do it according to the RULES and let everyone vote. Clinton wanted to exclude anyone who didn't vote that day. We had low voter turn out here in MI. It's was held Jan. 15 and we had a snow storm that day, about 3-5 inches. No one went to vote unless they had something important on the ballot in their city.

So anyone who didn't vote, couldn't vote. Count ALL the votes, huh?

Posted by: Really? | May 21, 2008 5:25:07 PM

I pledge to DNC if Obama is on the
ticket I WILL NOT VOTE democrat.

Posted by: Nicholas | May 21, 2008 5:25:53 PM

Hillary can't steal it at this point. It is already over. According to many insiders, the undeclared superdelegates have always been heavily in favor of Obama. They were just afraid to come out against the volatile Clintons, lest she win, then personally bury them in the party in a mass grave. McCain is even more vindictive. He doesn't just carry a grudge, multiple corroborated stories in the media indicate that he'll beat you over the head with it first, and then go behind your back to make sure that you are black-balled for life. McCain and Hillary really are quite alike, at least in temperament and political style. I'm so glad that we'll be spared both of their dictatorial and intimidator styles of leadership after November.

lol i am completely outraged at how manipulative and insane hillary is...

lie cheat and steal sweetie

but remember the rest of the democratic party will stomp your ass for what you are trying to do

hell lets really start some stuff, let her leave... mccain will have to deal with barr and paul, i mean lets see how many parties we can get on one ticket and have a good ol fashioned fist fight

The whole panel last night on CNN was all gloom and doom as they discussed how exit polling spells mucho trouble for Obama in the general election. David Gergen looked like he wanted to cry.

People are starting to work on their electoral maps and see that Obama cannot win.

President McCain - get use to it!!

Posted by: Student | May 21, 2008 5:27:53 PM

Obama is trying to steal Hillary's victory. Obama is flying too high when he declares himself the winner. All states should vote in all elections before the winner is declared and it should go to the convention if necessary.

Posted by: Anders Scooper | May 21, 2008 5:29:08 PM

I could get on board that idea. I won't vote McCain, but I could definitely vote Barr.

Sounds like a plan.

I must say I am astounded. I think Hillary may be in the middle of some sort of mental health crisis.

Posted by: I HAVE AN IDEA | May 21, 2008 5:29:49 PM

Some of the panel last night said Hillary should go to her voters and say "If you're voting for me because Obama is black, then I don't want your vote!"

THAT's how much trouble these Obama loving journalists realize Obama is in.

Suck it up MSM. If people want to vote for Hillary because Obama is a black man...I have news for you.....THAT IS THEIR RIGHT!!!

Posted by: d | May 21, 2008 5:30:54 PM

Michigan and Florida ignored the agreed upon rules for the primary. There has to be a penalty for this. I can concede that some delagates from Florida should be seated, Half. They should retain thier superdelegates and the popular vote will not be counted in regard to the Primary. No matter how you slice it, it was not an above board primary and everyone knew it prior to the vote.
Michigan is different, not all of the candidates were on the ballot and a significant amount voted uncommitted. The demographics say that Obma would have likely carried the state 55/45. Award half of the states delegates and split them 50/50.

In the end, it will make no difference. Even if you award the delegates as is, Obama will be the next Democratic nominee. It is time to look forward to the GE and start really showing that this election is about the stark differences of where each of the parties wants to take this country in the next 4 years.

Posted by: Anders Scooper | May 21, 2008 5:31:44 PM

That's the Hillary supporters.

They claim they'll do one thing then turn and do the exact opposite.

Many claim to not watch CNN or MSNBC b/c their in the "tank" for Obama. Yet every election night they're quoting analyst from those two major networks.

It's the same as Obama. They will claim not to vote for him now but come November they will.

Posted by: Vanessa | May 21, 2008 5:32:26 PM

Louis,

She is no longer arguing about pledged delegates. She knows she can't catch him even with FL/MI.

She is now demanding the only metric be the popular vote that doesn't include caucus state votes with any accuracy and which would give Obama ZERO in MI, and last but certainly not least Puerto Rico.

She is throwing down on the DNC. Let's see if they have the chachas to body slam her this time.

Posted by: PRIMARY RULES | May 21, 2008 5:33:56 PM

Strongest case yet? LOL SAME case she has been trying to make since it became apparent she HAD to have those votes BUT ONLY if they do not give ANY to Obama ROTFLMAO Whoever wrote this article? Do us all a favor and go get the sex change your apparently needing to feel fulfilled.

Posted by: Brian | May 21, 2008 5:34:08 PM

Vanessa, actually people will claim they're voting for Obama and won't. That's how it has worked so far.

But nice try.

Posted by: Jo | May 21, 2008 5:35:30 PM

What is important here? That Obama wins the nomination? Is that your sole goal?

Because without the votes in the certified elections counted, which by the way DO count just not the delegates, there is no hope that either state will go dem in the fall. None.

2.3 million voted. That is only a fraction of who will vote in november. These are the party base, these are the voters who VOTE.

I no longer care how we got here, nor do I blame either candidate for the problem, but the fact is the DNC made one hell of a mess. When options were set out Obama's campaign didn't want to revote(he may have won, but whatever). And after Hillary said the quote Obama supporters quote so often about the states not counting, she added that they will be seated in the end, that no one wanted to leave out two such important states. She said that then. She say's it now. Does it help her, maybe, but at the bottom of it all it helps the democratic party, because without counting those votes, those voters, we hands down turn those states solid red in november.

Now really, what is more important?

Posted by: drae | May 21, 2008 5:35:40 PM

I won't ever forget the way the press acted they were all in the tank for Obama from the start they trashed Hillary .

Posted by: Bishop | May 21, 2008 5:35:44 PM

She has no shame in not sticking to the rules if they don't benefit her. Just like Bill playing golf with Terry McAuliffe. She's out a lot of money and Bill's speech charges will be a lot less if she isn't in the White House. I always wonder if her wanting to change the rules has to do with her growing up as a Cubs fan. And counting votes in Michigan when Edwards and Obama followed the rules and took their names off the ballot and saying she won is just another spin of the truth just like the thrice told (or more) lie about sniper fire in Tuzla.

Posted by: bhciapol | May 21, 2008 5:36:28 PM

This is soo silly, it's like, "oh yay, I am winning by popular vote if you count 2 states, of which both my husband was really popular in, both my opponent didn't run in, and in 1 (michigan) my opponent wasn't even on the poles! LOL, ok, so lets assume Obama was on the poles and people could of voted for him, hmmm, Maybe she isn't leader the popular at all because of all of those people who would of voted for Obama on the poles, after all there were 45% who said "undecided" in michigan, count those towards Obama just for kicks and who is winning, hmm, OMG, it's still Obama LOL. I just had to post this, not because I am behind either one but her argument if each party had a fair run isn't credible AT ALL, she would still be losing and in the end it would make her look worse.

Obama is not in trouble at all. Huge amounts of donor money. Huge crowds for speeches. Inspirational ideas. Media backed to the hilt. Superdelegates waiting adoringly in the wings. Hell, people even applauded at a speech when he sneezed. This is a great orator who will win in a landslide against a hobbling McCain. Remember Bob Dole? Neither do most people. McCain has no money, no personality, no self-control, and no Republican base. McCain is sexist, stupid, pro-War, and by self-admission, knows little about Economics in the midst of a recession. Jobs? Gas Prices? Health Care Reform? Rolling back tax breaks for the wealthy? Help with college expenses? These are easy issues for Obama to debate and score big with the poor and middle class voters. It's a no brainer. Let the Hillary supporters vote what ever way they see fit.

I was at Senator Clinton's Town Hall Meeting this afternoon, and I can say, she is inspiring! I dont really care about the Florida & Michigan delegates being seated, as long as the popular votes from both states are counted. Afterall, people did make an effort to go out and vote on those two days. Obama chose to remove his name from the ballor in Michigan. That shouldnt take away from any vote Clinton received there. Every single vote Clinton received in Michigan was a vote for her. If the people of Michigan did not want to vote for Clinton, they could have voted uncomitted (like 40% did). But Clinton still won, and won big. I am a Floridian, and if my vote is not counted at all in this Democratic primary, I will not vote for the Democratic nominee, and I am pretty sure an overwhelming majority of my fellow Floridians agree.

Hillary Clinton's campaign is $31 MILLION in debt. The only reason she's staying in the race is so that SUCKERS LIKE YOU donate more to her campaign so that she can pay off her bills and bow out. Otherwise, she's stuck with the bills herself. Clinton would rather let the bills go unpaid, thereby harming hundreds of companies who worked for her campaign. Failing that, she would rather thief her supporters into paying the debt on her failed campaign. The situation is quite disturbing.

But go ahead and fool yourself -- just as you did in 2000 and 2004. It's your grief, not mine.

Absolutely absurd argument! My mom and dad stayed home in Florida because they knew their vote wouldn't count (both Obama supporters), as I'm sure a lot of people did. This is Hilliary's hail mary, worse she's trying to manipulate the system. In the end it will only embitter more Clinton supporters against Obama. What a piece of work she is, putting herself above the party. In the end her legacy will be damaged...just like Bill.

Posted by: Cathy | May 21, 2008 5:52:12 PM

The math doesn’t add up. A constant theme circulated by pundits and papers arguing that Hillary should drop out and let Obama focus on the general election. I couldn’t agree more that the focus by all should be on the general election and before it’s too late. The problem is there are two math problems - the convoluted primary math problem made up of 48 states and caucuses (which arguably give a grossly disproportionate amount of delegates per actual votes)and the general election math problem which is far more logical and arguably the problem we all should zero in on - no caucuses, all 50 states (the latter is the math problem Hillary is working on and why she is in this race to the end). The superdelegates of the democratic party were given a responsibility - to fairly judge each candidate to determine who is most electable in the general election. To judge which candidate is most likely to win the electoral college. Key states for the general election are WV, KY, FL, PA, TX and OH. These states are essential for the democratic candidate to secure. We know who won these states yet the media has chosen to ignore this critical math. Another issue the media seems to discount are the millions of angry voters who feel disenfranchised to the point of switching parties. May 31st is a pivotal decision day for democrats and republicans - both parties will anxiously await to see how the delegates will be seated in Florida and Michigan. Over 2 million voters right now have been silenced and feel ignored. Maybe a moot point now, but this has impacted Hillarys momentum in the primary to a exponential degree. It was a huge disadvantage to her campaign to no be able to count these delegates from the beginning and build on this win. With a race so close (population vote neck and neck, with Hillary ahead), it is essential to count every vote. The point of a primary is to judge how the candidate performs to determine who is best equipped to win the general election - the fact is the DNC will not admit that punishing Florida and Michigan is only punishing themselves. Florida and Michigan have no incentive to vote for Obama because he has not shown any interest in hearing their voice. So let’s give those two to McCain. Now with obamas comments on clinging to guns and religion, he has handed Pennsylvania over to McCain. Kentucky, Ohio and West Virginia were landslide victories for HRC where the demographic is more likely to swing towards McCain than Obama. Loyalists in New York, Arkansas and across the country will vote for McCain - stick out the 4 years - and then await Hillary to run in 2012. Southern states other than arkansas will vote republican. Add it up. How can Obama win this? It seems forcing Obama into the democratic nomination is only to make a statement now and deal with the consequences later - yes it says a black man can do anything, as the similar statement can be made of women if Hillary is the nominee. We need to get past the gender and race excitement and focus right now on the individual - their record, their character, their baggage, their agenda, their solutions, their electibility - and make the decision that can ultimately hand the white house back to the democratic party. As much as you hear McCain is 4 more years of Bush, the fact is he is far from Bush. He is a war hero and an established successful senator with a powerful record - appealing to republicans and independents. He has a plan to end the war by 2013 and he has a realistic approach to foreign policy - something Bush and Obama lack. Despite what pundits say on the cable news, Democrats are not guaranteed the white house just because America is exhausted by 8 years of Bush and desperate for change. The fact is all 3 candidates will be a change from the last 8 years - the question is which direction of change do we want to go - and judging by the general election math question - this question of direction will either go the way of Hillary or John McCain. It is up to the DNC on May 31st and the superdelegates on June 3rd to determine this path of change for the betterment of the democratic party and the future of this country.

Hillary Clinton did not make any issue of Florida and Michigan voters before Big Tuesday when she expected to walk away with the nomination. Now she represents all those disenfranchised voters? If the DNC allow her to steal this nomination, then I will persuade every new Dem voter I brought in to vote for an Independent on the ticket in November rather than her or McCain. I will owe no loyalty to a party or candidate that condones cheating! I am a 67 year old white LOL not a fan struck youngster. The younger voters may still be in College or newly employed but if they can be sent off to Iraq to fight and maybe die, then they have a right to vote too. Too many Clinton supporters knocking them as being too simple minded or inexperienced. Old enough to die, old enough to vote! Add the Independents, switching GOP voters, outraged Blacks and Hispanics who now are not hard working Americans since only White workers know how to do that per Hillary and her core base. She said it! We add up to a lot of numbers that she seems to think she no longer needs to win in November. More Clintonite math.

At least 1/2 of Hillary supporters will have no problem staying home or voting for McCain so they can see Hillary run again in 2012. McCain is not Bush - at least that's what the media has told us for years and years.

THAT is just ONE of the reasons Obama will lose, and lose BIG.

It is ridiculous proposition to count the half-baked primaries that were run in Florida and Michigan. First of all, most voters stayed home when they found out the primary wouldn't count. Second of all, OBAMA WASN'T EVEN ON THE MICHIGAN BALLOT! Clinton is deranged if she thinks her Michigan votes should count when her opponent wasn't even on the ballot (and thus received 0 votes)! Unbelievable.

Clinton needs to DROP OUT OF THE RACE before she completely destroys the Democratic party (or is that what her scorched earth policy is actually about)?

How would each of you like it if someone told you not to bother voting. You are NOT included in this process here in the United States of America. This race is not over until everyone VOTE IS COUNTED. The media doesn't determine the if the campaign is over. The delegate count is not a deciding issue unless the 2209 is reached anything other then that means it goes to the convention to be decided. Plain and Simple!

That what you call democracy!

WHAT IS EVERYONE SO AFRAID OF?
THAT THE COUNRTY WILL BE DIVIDED?
NEWSFLASH: WE ALREADY ARE. A STRONG LEADER WILL BRING THE COUNTRY TOGETHER.

Obama has kinda a slick, foggy aura about him and voters faint. I believe some voters should get a life.

Jo said, "Obama will lose, and lose BIG." YEAH... RIGHT. That's why Obama holds an 8 point lead over McCain in the latest Zogby national poll. Obama will lose all right. Lose himself right into the White House!

OBAMA '08.

Lee C-

I just e-mailed Barbara Boxer (I live in California). I'm sure it won't matter but this crosses a line and our representatives need to know it's time to step up.

I don't think Hillary is interested in uniting or "fixing" anything. She also talked about being ready to go to the convention floor for a fight.

What a ridiculous mess. Ego before country.

HRC needs to accept the reality that the DNC made the rule change and that is FINAL!!! Any change will result in a lawsuit I promise you. There will be NO rule changes at this time. HRC is a complete JOKE to expect this now. She is Dishonest and has ZERO character. Anyone who supports her is a total LOSER and obviously has NO competence or intelligence. Of course the data indicates HRC supports are High School dropouts or convicted felons or on welfare. Wake up USA, HRC is the worst thing that could happen to this country short of an asteroid impact!

I find it absolutely pathetic and appalling that many Hillary Clinton supporters would rather vote for war monger McCain and send their and other US citizen´s sons and daughters off to a bogus war than vote for Obama who is committed to bring our troops home. Obama´s platform is about 95% what Clinton´s is...only he delivers the message much more effectively. For Clinton supporters to play "sour grapes" is a poor way of dealing with our country´s pressing issues. Obama is the nominee...I suggest all Democrats get behind him.

Hillary, we support you for the party's nomination and we look forward to electing you as the first Woman President of the United States of America. You truly represent our hopes and aspirations. Your efforts to have the votes of Florida and Michigan are only right. These are Americans. Your opponent disses Small-Town America, rural America, and the apparent working white class for why did he ignore the Americans of West Virginia. Thank you being strong and true to our values.

The situation is quite disturbing.

ana,
I couldn't agree with you more. Count ALL the votes.
