Clinton Loosely Compares Her White House Fight to JFK's Campaign
May 12, 2008 1:49 PM
ABC News' Eloise Harper Reports: Senator Hillary Clinton confidently barnstormed West Virginia Monday, where she is significantly leading in the polls. The Senator, speaking in Clear Fork, WV, said that JFK was down when he was running but, had the support of the Mountain State.
“It was West Virginia that made it possible for John Kennedy to become president. Now John Kennedy didn’t have the number of delegates he needed when he went to the convention in 1960, he had something equally as important. He had West Virginia behind him.”
The New York Senator praised the beauty of the state calling it “heaven,” but added that help was needed to fix the condition of the roads that wind through the mountainous state. Clinton mentioned providing “federal government help to make sure you can get around West Virginia. It isn’t easy. It is almost heaven, don’t get me wrong, but you know it’s not easy.”
Clinton spoke about the resilience of this country – but also perhaps her perseverance in the race.
“We are always fighting for a better tomorrow. Even when times are tough and it looks like the deck is stacked against you – Americans are resilient, boy West Virginians are sure resilient,” Clinton said.

Behind in delegates, behind in raw vote, and not even ahead in the superdelegates... Yup I guess in Hilliary's mind 2nd place REALLY IS 1st!
Her denail is almost as bad as McCain's AND Bush.

Rookie U.S. Senator Obama already knows that he is going to lose West Virginia big time.
Why? Because "The Mountaineers" of West Virginia already know that Obama's radical left wing values are different from their's.
For example, Obama wants to send hundreds of billions of U.S. tax dollars to Africa through his Global Poverty Act. Most West Virginians don't.
They also don't like Obama accusing small-town Americans of clinging to God and guns.
Obama has already written West Virginia off, which is why most West Virginians have also written Obama off.

Yes Hillary. We are not voting for the race bating hoping to be President with Affirmative Action Obama. I will never vote for a traitor who wants to tear down Hillary in order to win what he is not qualified to do.

Did any of you hear a talking head on CNN last week compare Hillary's "full steam ahead to the White House" comment to Bagdad Bob's infamous declarations? Then she gets compared to the Glen Close character in Fatal Attraction. And over the weekend SNL does an about-face and slams her for being a sore loser, having racist supporters and no ethical standards. Add all of that to her campaign's financial woes, and you have to imagine she's feeling like that guy in the movie "Splash": "What a WEEK I'm having!"

Clinton is now threatening to take her failed campaign to the convention floor, by stealing JFK's legacy. What a repulsive human being she is! Party delegates MUST STOP HER NOW. SHE IS DESTROYING ANY DIGNITY THE PARTY HAS LEFT!

It cracks me up that she is talking about getting better roads when she is proposing the gas tax holiday that will take money away from doing exactly that!

Of course Obama and his sheeple are full of panic. They know full and well that Obama will lose the rest of the states left to hold primaries.
None of those states have high black population counts. Meaning that the Magic Negro won't glide through with his white-hating followers in tow.
Hillary - You go and campaign ANY way you see fit. Fight fire with fire! They are scared you could hurt the golden boy. You are in this to win. If you hurt their delicate feelings, so be it. Ask yourself what they would do if things were turned around. They would drag you through the deepest mud.
The working-white class loves you! Unlike Obama and his "change" versus the working white class. As he shows he is the one with the problem of race. A complete disgrace to America.

The more I read some of the comments here and in other news sources it is apparent that many of these so-called Hillary supporters attacking Obama are really Republican operatives, trying to sow dissension, division and discord among progressives/Democrats. They are trying to instigate infighting between Democrats who are fed up with the corruption of the last eight years.

It is over for Hillary and McCain is next. Obama is going to eat McCain alive in the debates this fall.
McCain is going to lose in a landslide.
That said, Obama supporters would be wise to be gracious in our triumph.
down with Bush. The cancer on the Presidency (Bush Dynasty) will be lanced off forever in November.

I'm currently reading about the 1948 election, in the context of the Berlin Airlift - I think that election was just SLIGHTLY more convoluted mess than this one.

Sometimes people from small, rural towns have a lot more of an innate understanding of human behavior than others.
You are so wrong when you put down democrats who don't support Obama. Just look at the polls and you can easily see that it isn't just republicans who have a problem with Obama so don't be so stupid as to belittle us. Just wait until Obama starts pandering to us.

Hillary has not dedicated her life to Obama or knowingly appointing someone who cannot win a general election!
Posted by: Susan | May 12, 2008 2:48:54 PM
Only fools, except me, think they can win a general election by labeling, and ditching the poor, less-educated, bitter voters (guess that sounds bitter, oh well).
BO, of course, has shown no strength nor courage to face the voters he must need to win in November, just as he was afraid of a debate. I suppose he has already had an explanation; they do not vote for him, because they cling to guns and religion.

Let's see she has compared herself to
Paulette Revere, Rocky Balboa, and
JFK! I'd say Hillary is more like
Don Quiote, still tilting at windmills
when the fight is lost!

HRC, I echo Krissy K's reply, and thank you for showing just why your candidate is so weak. He believes that so many of us who do not support him are just "bitter"....and "we cling to our guns and religions in bad economic times....". It is the "ugliness of spirit" that drapes Obama supporters which you should be familiar with.
Lifelong Democrats like me want someone who is experienced and has a deep and studied knowledge of the issues to help put this country back in order. Hillary is first in that category, McCain is second, and Obama is third. We know that no matter what, McCain is a moderate who has worked across the aisle to do what is right. He is a war heroe. Most importantly, he has EXPERIENCE!
This election is not over. You had your vote, so let the rest of the Democrats have their votes.
VOTE FOR MAMA, NOR FOR OBAMA!

IT would be so cool if there is a Mccain-Clinton ticket. Boy would Obama just pass out under Osama's pants like a scared rat.

robby10001, the party dignity was destroyed when Obama played the "race" card. What a sad, pathetic, liar he is!

you american sheepol do not understand.
Patriotic innorants that wave flags arround for everything and kill people for anything, even without prof. Now, I can even torture your people and all because I might thing they are terrorist. But wait a minute, I was the same guy that said osama was the one responsible for 911, o but that wasnt true. I was the same guy that said Saddan had weapons of mass destruction, ah o yeah that wasnt true. But then you guys elected me twice, now that Im going out of the house, I HOPE you idiots learned something. I took your rights away, your money and incredibly enough you guys still praise me, incredible. Obviously you guys know that iM NOT Bush just for the punctuation because as bad as it is is miles ahead of anything that Mr bush can write or say, im just an American like you. oPEN your heads an read and research because you might find out things that are going to surprize you.

Gee Hillary, I think you need a history lesson. It was not West Virginia that put John Kennedy over the top at the 1960 Democratic convention. It was Wyoming. Another example of Hillary's incompetence or attempt to re-write history in order to fit her needs.
