Clinton Plays Offense -- Targets Obama

ABC News' Eloise Harper reports: Sen. Hillary Clinton is two days away from the Indiana and North Carolina primaries. Speaking today in Ft. Wayne, Ind., Clinton chiseled down her once 40-minute stump speech to a 16-minute delivery of points aimed directly at Barack Obama.

On the gas tax holiday: "My opponent is running ads and holding press conferences and attacking me because I have a plan to try to get oil companies to pay the gas tax this summer instead of you paying."

On the mortgage crisis: "Now Sen. Obama doesn’t agree with me in making a home foreclosure moratorium, but I think what I've proposed will finally give a little more balance in the scales."

On health care: "My opponent doesn’t cover everybody, he leaves 15 million people out and I think that's a mistake."

Clinton is trying to make the point in these last days that she is the candidate who recognizes what average Americans are going through.

"I understand what folks are up against," she said. "There is a big difference between us, who understands what you are going through and who can you count on to be on your side to get the solutions that are going to help you for a change, instead of [helping] the folks who are already doing very well."

Too many things wrong with Obama. He doesn't want to talk issues. But when issues need him, he voted present. He doesn't propose ideas, instead keep saying that he will bring the country together to solve problems. How? He can't even bring one man, Wright, together and he wants to bring the country together. Too many hiprocasy in Obama's skin and views.

Clinton said April 22 in an interview with ABC. "if Iran consider launching an attack on Israel, we would be able to totally obliterate them."

Obama should seize her scaring comments the day her uttered, and punch her all the way. That 's what she did to him. Those are the words from her mouth, not anybody else.

Robert

Rev Wright is relevant Obama will lose in NC because of that alone!

Posted by: staniam | May 4, 2008 4:35:22 PM

Exactly! Obama said he wants to save the great lakes of Oregon! We don't have great lakes here! Oregonians are all laughing at him. No way he'll win here. No way in hell!

SnarkyTom: You are right. And our rivers don't need cleaning up either!
Maybe he is thinking of his river in Chicago that he and his legislation polluted with nuclear waste? What a loser.

SnarkyTom

yea Obama is not ready for prime time there is some reason why the exteme left wants to hold on to them and we will just have to vote all of them out this year too!

Betty

Obama has no idea what hes talking about so all he can cling to is Hope and Change

Posted by: staniam | May 4, 2008 4:41:09 PM

Let me get this straight. So, his district in Chicago is boarded up. His district rivers are polluted. His constiutents are poor, cold and hungry...you forgot that there is record crime there..and not tax base..all this under Obama watch. Is this what's in store for America if he bamboozles the vote? Talk about issues, huh?

Pelosi, Dean and Kennedy are getting voted out of their seat and then they will know the TRUE numbers of people who support Hillary and not some contrived news.

Obama will not win a general election. If he could, this race would have been over by now.

Posted by: staniam | May 4, 2008 4:49:25 PM

Well I am not able to vote Obama it will be the first Democrat I will not vote for I can't follow Hillary's support for the party even if she does not win I am not sure at this point who I will vote for, or If I will vote if Hillary does not win I might have to cast a vote against Obama and this I have never felt like I had to before. There is something about Obama that I just can not seem to trust.

Obama got everywhere he was in life by handouts Hillary has worked hard her whole life we just need to stop this now and take the ultimate judgement away from people that have no idea about Obama

Posted by: staniam | May 4, 2008 5:04:55 PM

All you pro-Hillary people need to go to school! Most of you are non-educated losers. No wonder you all don't recognize the BEST candidate in 40 years. If you had ANY sense you would see Hillary for the lying, pandering, Bush -lover that she is.

AT you probably are an eletist like Obama and don't understand working class people.

You can't take a young boxer without no experience , no matter how good and throw him out to fight for the Championship. You have to have a record and time to show skills. Obama is to much in a rush, he wants everything easy because he thinks hes better then any one else.

@filmmd

obama could "put his foot on Clinton's throat if he wanted to?" That's impossible. He's a spineless little cry-baby who couldn't hurt anyone if he tried. You are funny. Hillary could rip him five new holes in a heartbeat. Why do you think he is afraid to face her one on one? because he is a wimp!

Posted by: James | May 4, 2008 5:18:13 PM

Working class people sometimes drive many miles to thier job and just few cents on a gallon of gas provides a lot of relief. Hillary's ideas about the long term aspect of energy are good ideas too. Obama is so far out of touch with real people.
