Clinton: Tuesday Will Be a 'Game Changer'
May 02, 2008 11:12 AM
ABC News' Eloise Harper Reports: Senator Hillary Clinton speaking in Kinston, NC said that Tuesday's primary will be a big day in the contest for the Democratic nomination. Clinton has denied in interviews and in press availabilities that she will drop out of the race if she loses Indiana. Today, Clinton stressed the importance of the North Carolina contest.
“This primary election on Tuesday is a game changer. This is going to make a huge difference in what happens going forward. The entire country – probably even a lot of the world is looking to see what North Carolina decides.”
Watch the VIDEO HERE.
Speaking at a John Deere sales center, the New York Senator stressed the importance of creating jobs, criticizing those who say the current jobs numbers are a good indication.
"You know we lost 20,000 jobs last month and people are saying well that’s better than we thought. Well, I don’t accept that at all. We're not supposed to be losing jobs in America we're supposed to be creating jobs in America. So losing 20,000 jobs isn’t exactly a welcome piece of information. We need to change our tax code which I will do. There’s not going to be one penny of your tax dollars that goes to any company that takes a job out of North Carolina and moves it to a foreign company.”
Clinton continued to praise the gax tax holiday and criticized her opponents for their positions. The former First Lady has five stops in North Carolina today, continuing her marathon sprint around the Tar Heel state leading up to Tuesday.

Sounds desperate to me. She hears the sounds of the super delegates making their way to Obama's side based on negatives. No one with her negatives could ever unite this party. No one. The supers know this. Heck most of them don't even like or respect the Clintons with good reason.
Yes, watch what happens.

catcall, it seems they would rather stay in a war with a possible draft especially if Hillary would go to war with Iran. Our troops are spread too thin.

Paulus...Obama did nothing except to true to himself and a man he thought he knew. He is a different type of politician. He stays true to people even though he doesn't awalys agree with them. That is called character. Weh Wright personally attacked him and misrepresented he had to step in. NO ONE is perfect in this race, but we need to pick wisely

Lisa...you are so right..

All I know is every time I look @ RealClear, HRC's numbers are up - againt BO in Indiana/NC and up against McCain. Still expect SDs to tilt nomination to Obama - they'd rather appease black community and younger voters than take a stand for the other 50% most of whom they think will go along b/c of the Dem Party line. Will be interesting to see how effective that strategy is.

A nearly 40 year relationship with Kantor. It is clear that HRC must be heavily influenced and completely subscribe to what are his innermost beliefs. Like the Clinton's, despite irrefutable proof of misconduct, he denies making the statement.

Poll numbers change with the story of the day. IF the media decides to go into the weekend with as much coverage of the Kantor commentary on Indianians, look for those numbers to change.

Give the polls a couple of days to settle down. Obama had a rough few weeks, his numbers will come back up.

There are SO many things the Clintons and McCain are involved in that are underhanded and "slimy" I wonder why the press is concentrating so much on the Wright issue. I personally think people are SICK of the Wright, Bosnia and all that crap..we want to know the issues, economy, gas prices, jobs...YEEZZZ

WHAT POLL NUMBERS DON'T SAY ...
The democratic nominee is Obama because that's what the party's hierarchy have decided. They are convinced that Hillary supporters will quickly fall in line and vote for Obama in the general election. There's no end to the way that they will be subjected to spin and there's no way most of them will resist. There's a mentality in both parties that come down to "my party right or wrong". THIS WON'T CHANGE!

We all know about the polls anyway...they are usually trunkated...

Fredstates...maybe he does now that everyone is tearing ever little thing apart that he says...so much for free speach and voicing your opinion!

She even has the Gall to demand that Congress have an up and down vote on this Gas Tax thing.
So now she thinks she is going to force the hand of Congress on this issue. I blatant attempt to get to look like she ahs their support.
Oh she sure is endearing those supers.
Her time is up and she knows it. She knows she will not get the support of the supers. She has nothing to lose so she will hit everyone. If she doesn't get the nomination she is gone from politics altogether.

I like people who don't give up and who find a way to prevail even when the odds seemed stacked against them. Quality has a way of coming through. Any Dem with an open-mind should be able to see by now that Obama is an inexperienced highly flawed candidate right now. The GOP will dismantle him in an election that the Dems should and must win. Hillary can win the presidency and do the job. If Dems aren't interested in either of those two things then they should back Obama.

The Democratic numbers at this point, which are a sum of the PAST primaries, have about as much to do with November as Jeremiah Wright has to do with Christianity.
