Clinton: 'You Can't Tell How Far a Frog Will Jump Until You Punch Him'
May 29, 2008 4:53 PM
ABC News' Eloise Harper Reports: Facing an increasingly improbable candidacy for the White House, Democratic presidential candidate Sen. Hillary Clinton, D-N.Y., showed no signs of stopping on the trail in South Dakota and cited an old Arkansas, saying in an off-handed reference to her campaign: "you can't tell how far a frog will jump until you punch him."
Clinton continues to make the case that she has done better in primary contests since February 20 than Democratic frontrunner Barack Obama, winning more votes, states and delegates despite having faced many blows along the way, including the departure of both her campaign manager and chief strategist. She has also had to regain ground several times.
Another blow Clinton has had to face is one that concerns her finances. Clinton, whose campaign is approximately $20 million in debt, said in Huron, S.D. that she is the most fiscally responsible candidate.
"If you will vote for me next Tuesday, you are voting for the most fiscally responsible candidate on either side of the aisle," said Clinton.
Clinton, who has been fighting financial woes in her campaign since February, has argued that she knows more about financial issues than her opponents. When asked previously to explain why that is, Clinton sited her experience from her work as Senator from New York.
Clinton continued to express her exasperation with the press.
"I am tired," said Clinton with exasperation. "I am tired of politicians and people in the press saying we cant do things. We are the can do nation."
Clinton was asked Wednesday night if she really wanted reporters to be more vigorous and aggressive – she said that she does, but on the "right things."
"I really do," insisted Clinton. "I really do. On the right things. On things that are important to the future of our country. On things that really matter. I would love that."

Obama is not the change we need. He is the same as all the politicians. He has shady characters in his past, a campaign that scrubs it's website of one of those characters in a sneaky fashion. Hillary has no reason to hurry out of this race. If she hangs on a few more days her donations should increase dramatically when the truth of these things surface, and people see they have been behind the wrong one. He is not the Chosen One, the Messiah...he's a politician.

Well at least her sponsors are not Iraqi billionairs on the run! Before you have a go at Hillary, go look at Obamas piggy bank!

How can Hillary even let the words "she knows more about financial issues" when her own campaign in debt to high water!!??? Again the way you run your campaign to me shows me how you will potentially run this country and I give her a failing grade of "F". Sorry Hillary the gig is up!!

The fight will go all the way to the August convention! Tomorrow a decision will be made regarding FL & MI on Saturday and only after the final states vote will Super delegates make a decision. That decision will be based on which candidate is best supported by voters and who can definatly bean McCain in a GE...whether you care to acknowledge it or not, Gallup poll has Hillary ahead of Obama, when it comes to winning.
With regard to Fl & MI http://www.townhall.com/Common/PrintPage.aspx?g=adf29e7c-bcc5-4e23-b72f-8985dfe092af&t=c

he wants to bomb the world

This is looking increasingly grim for the Dems. Her campaign is trying to strike a deal for her to get out, yet she's talking up fighting through the convention. Yikes.

So let me get this straight...no matter who you're supporting now (Obama or Clinton), you're telling me that despite gas prices that are out the wazzoo, a war that we shouldn't be fighting and we all know it, and the economy in the dumps -- all by 8 years of Republican BS, you'll vote against this country's best interest (a Democratic candidate) for another 4 years of GWB.
Wise up, people. When this becomes a general election campaign and it's the Democratic nominee vs. the Republican nominee, all of us will ride our donkey to the polls to get things put back on the right track.

Maybe someone needs to punch him! Hopefully, it will help to bring him back to reality!

It sounds to me like there shouldn't have been a primary election at all!!
The democracts should have just given Hillary the nomination as soon as she announced it!!
Why go thru this process at all?
Posted by: californiagirl | May 29, 2008 5:44:37 PM
Everyone else should open their eyes.
If she got that many votes and the majority want her, then their is definitely a problem with Obama.
We Do Not Want Obama.............
Best start asking yourself Why so many want her.
There is a problem with Obama, he is not the one.

Sad, sad, sad. I can only hope that the Democratic Party will intervene -- the same way that any good family would do, when a member so seriously loses her bearing, as Clinton has. What makes it sadder, still, is that -- like any addict, she has no conscience about taking the whole family down with her.

I heard McCain say the other night that would stay in Iraq until we win, I guess sorta of how we won Viet Nam, that worked out real well for us didn't it?
But hey, what's a little warmongering between friends, it's good for business to those who have vested interest, and surely the life insurance payments for deceased soldier's will stimulate the economy.
So Anti-Abortionist are based on the viability of life, whereas multiple wars are based upon collateral damage of human life as a viable recourse to winning the war!
Say absolute no to McCain!

Hillary...you have got to be kidding me. You want the American people to trust you to run the country's financial affairs...when you are 20 MILLION in debt. What a joke you are!
Clintons' suck.
