Obama to B-Ball Opponent, 'He Keeps Coming Back, He's Like Hillary'
May 01, 2008 8:28 PM
ABC News' Sunlen Miller reports: Life imitates art, and sometimes a pickup game can imitate politics.
So was the case when Barack Obama dropped by the family farm of the Avers in Union Mills, Ind., and delivered two apple pies.
After speaking to the family with his sleeves rolled up, the presidential candidate got challenged by Avers family stepson Aaron Villicana to a game of PIG, a shorter version of the game HORSE, on the family’s driveway basketball hoop.
"I’m feeling a little pressure," Obama, D-Ill., said when he hadn’t made a shot after a few tries. Villicana sunk a shot and then Obama retaliated with a swish.
The score was still even.
Back and forth, the 14 year old and senator shot. Villicana got a P and then got an I.
Obama got a P.
Obama almost had the game finished off. He needed one more shot to win, but he couldn’t make one. They shot and shot. Rain started drizzling and the sun started going down.
"This dimming light is a disadvantage," said Obama, referencing his age and making an excuse of sorts.
"I better end it right here," Obama said, before taking a jump shot that hit the rim without going in. "Oh that’s off. I’ve lost. I’ve lost it."
The players exchanged more shots and no one made a single one.
"I think we’re gonna have to end this one," Obama said again.
Again the candidate did not sink the shot. The score still remained the same.
"He’s tough. He keeps on coming back," Obama commented. Then, referencing parallels to his long struggle on and off the court, Obama quipped, "He’s like Hillary."
With that, Obama shot a jump shot and sank the winning basket. (Villicana ultimately missed his shot, putting an end to the game.)
Final Score: Obama: P, Villicana PIG.
And with that, the presidential candidate loaded back on his bus. He had another ongoing game to attend to.

Seeing how he kept "missing" shows he's a good dad :)

Obama couldn't have said it better: "I’ve lost. I’ve lost it."
Amen to that.
Rise Hillary, Rise!

The media have failed to focus and make it their center piece of discussion, the fight that is going on with the Democratic Party as a whole. You have the Moderates (Clinton) versus the Liberals (Obama) wing of the Democratic party. Hillary, as I see it, is only a Democrat by the letter (D) after her name and the irony is that she is being aided and abated by the Republicans. Rush Limbaugh would like a 1968 "riot" at the Democratic Convention this August. He may just get one, if Clinton keeps it up. The Clinton campaign hasn't had to go negative, as the recent Republican ad in North Carolina targeting Democrats' association with Obama and Rev Wright, is working most effectively.
It may well be a 'Bush 3rd term' with McCain, as the Clinton v. Obama fight will cancel out each other's electibility. If Obama gets the nomination, I may continue to decide on voting for him but if Hillary gets the nomination, I will make it a point to vote for McCain (aka McSame).

for the love of all that is holy, how in god's name is this a relevant story and the commentary was ridiculous.

Clinton is as far from republican as anyone could ever be. Her policy positioning is absolutely antithetical to republican dogma. She's a moderately liberal democrat. She's not ultra-left, but she's certainly not conservative democrat.
THERE"S ONLY ONE THING THE REPUBLICANS HAVE IN COMMON WITH MODERATE DEMS: NEITHER TRUSTS, OR WILL EVER VOTE, FOR OBAMA.
Many independents also feel this way.
Rise Hillary, Rise!

obama attends a church preaching black liberation theology. rev wright often refers to james H. cone as the theology's guru. cone defines the theology thus: "black liberation theology refuses to accept a god who is not identified totally with the goals of the black communiity. if god is not for us and against white people, then he is a murderer, and we had better kill him. black theology will accept only the love of god which participates in the destruction of the white enemy (A Black Theology of Liberation by James H. Cone ISBN-10: 0883446855, p. 27)."
How dare he subject his children to this hate; how dare he pretent to be a uniter; how dare obama run for office.

I paid attention Obama has a small meeting with senior citizens ages 70's and 80's.
I guess he change his strategist now to embrace senior citizen after he threw his grandmother under the bus.
To all his supporters have been insulting Hillary supporters with calling them sinile etc , look what your candidate is doing now.

Nice Obama makes time to spend with ordinary people, in every state. Others can trash and bash all they want, but it's those people he connects with that will be doing the voting.

@ Eileen from Maine:
There are a number of credible sources both on the site "Pass the Buck" mentioned, and other sites. Having done a good deal of research myself, many of the issues raised on the site, while a bit pithy, are actually spot on. And yes, I read the cited articles from various mainstream outlets.
