Obama to B-Ball Opponent, 'He Keeps Coming Back, He's Like Hillary'

ABC News' Sunlen Miller reports: Life imitates art, and sometimes a pickup game can imitate politics.

So was the case when Barack Obama dropped by the family farm of the Avers in Union Mills, Ind., and delivered two apple pies.

After speaking to the family with his sleeves rolled up, the presidential candidate got challenged by Avers family stepson Aaron Villicana to a game of PIG, a shorter version of the game HORSE, on the family’s driveway basketball hoop.

"I’m feeling a little pressure," Obama, D-Ill., said when he hadn’t made a shot after a few tries. Villicana sunk a shot and then Obama retaliated with a swish.

The score was still even.

Back and forth, the 14 year old and senator shot. Villicana got a P and then got an I.

Obama got a P.

Obama almost had the game finished off. He needed one more shot to win, but he couldn’t make one. They shot and shot. Rain started drizzling and the sun started going down.

"This dimming light is a disadvantage," said Obama, referencing his age and making an excuse of sorts.

"I better end it right here," Obama said, before taking a jump shot that hit the rim without going in. "Oh that’s off. I’ve lost. I’ve lost it."

The players exchanged more shots and no one made a single one.

"I think we’re gonna have to end this one," Obama said again.

Again the candidate did not sink the shot. The score still remained the same.

"He’s tough. He keeps on coming back," Obama commented. Then, referencing parallels to his long struggle on and off the court, Obama quipped, "He’s like Hillary."

With that, Obama shot a jump shot and sank the winning basket. (Villicana ultimately missed his shot, putting an end to the game.)

Final Score: Obama: P, Villicana PIG.

And with that, the presidential candidate loaded back on his bus. He had another ongoing game to attend to.

material.

Obama's ball is kinda like His spiritual advisor Rev Wright, he comes back bouncing. Obama has a true friend in Rev Wright.

ABC will probably explain the Peter Paul Trial, after all that is thier job.

I wonder if Obama used his friend and mentor Rev Wright as a stepping stone into politics? Obama should embrace his friends not try to distance himself from them. They might get mad and not vote for him.

Google Peter Paul trial. I'm smelling rats.

What an immature comment for Obama to make! Not the first one and I'm sure it won't be the last.

Claire C. saw that new article on Savage Politics and its GREAT! No disputing those facts.

So where is Rev Wright, he sure is quiet maybe a bit to quiet lately.

Obama and his pastor live in mansions. There must be something very special about thier church.

Cry baby cry Obama maybe this time you won't get your own way. Look at the little puppy dog run with his trail between his legs.
Pleas help us we don't need Obama at all anyplace in politics.
GO HILLARY GO WIN BIG in the rest of the states we need you bad.

While Hillary is taking on Bill'O on Fox, dealing with a real interview, Obama is playing BBall and eating apple pie, guess that should tell us what his presidency would be like if he gets it.

Rev Wright is crawling out from under the bus and dusting himself off.

Posted by: Anders Scooper | May 1, 2008 10:34:59 PM

I think Rev Wright is waiting for the right moment then he will come out and play more dodge ball with Obama.

HE HAS THE WORST RECORD AS A POLITICIAN.
IF HE WAS A WHITE CANDIDATE HE WOULDN'T
GONE NOWHERE.
DEAN AND PELOSI DO THE MATH.
OBAMA CANNOT GET THE 270 ELECTORAL
VOTES.
HE LOST ALL THE BIG STATES.
HILLARY'S SUPPORTERS AND INDEPENDETS

Bouncing a ball is very important in winning the office of president.

I think its rather strange Obama camp was saying the super delegates should not count in the early stages, now all I can her on the media is that the supers are going to Obama and this is what is going to decide this thing.

So why the difference now? SO these supers will say it Obama when all this numbers seem to be dipping, he is even in some places behind McCain, yet they are going to push a candidate that has the least chance of winning a GE.

The DNC is a mad party, I have never seen such utter nonsense in my life, all indication are showing Hillary is the better choice, but all I am hearing from MSM is Obama, that sure has me baffled.

Posted by: SJ | May 1, 2008 10:42:09 PM

Obama is a wimp. If he didn't have the MSM in his pocket he would be nowhere.

Posted by: tww | May 1, 2008 10:42:24 PM

Some how I knew an apple pie would have to be connected to Obama.

Posted by: Anders Scooper | May 1, 2008 10:44:38 PM

I saw on another site Obama had a bud lite at some bar to I wonder is this will be ABC lead story for tomorrow?

Posted by: SJ | May 1, 2008 10:51:02 PM

Obama has gave more money to the superdelegates than Hillary. They will slowly crawl and wiggle over to Obama if Hillary doesn't get some good wins.
