Obama's Top Ten List
May 01, 2008 5:10 PM
ABC's Sunlen Miller reports: Sen. Barack Obama read his own Top 10 List tonight on the Late Show with David Letterman.
Watch the VIDEO HERE.
"Surprising Facts About Barack Obama"
10. My first act as President will be to stop the fighting between Lauren and Heidi on “The Hills.”
9. In the Illinois primary, I accidentally voted for Kucinich.
8. When I tell my kids to clean their room, I finish with, “I’m Barack Obama and I approved this message.”
7. Throughout high school, I was consistently voted “Barackiest.”
6. Earlier today I bowled a 39.
5. I have cancelled all my appearances the day the “Sex and the City” movie opens.
4. It’s the birthplace of Fred Astaire. (Sorry, that’s a surprising fact about Omaha)
3. We are tirelessly working to get the endorsement of Kentucky Derby favorite Colonel John.
2. This has nothing to do with the Top Ten, but what the heck is up with Paula Abdul?
1. I have not slept since October.
The Republican National Committee put out its own list Thursday night before the broadcast.
Ahead of his Letterman appearance tonight, the RNC’s Top 10 reasons Barack Obama isn’t ready to be commander-in-chief:
10. Thinks our enemies will be peaceful if only we invite them over for coffee.
9. Yes? No? Present.
8. $1.52 gas? Vote to suspend the gas tax. $4 gas? Support the gas tax.
7. MoveOn.Org & Howard Dean = Obama’s "New Politics"
6. Chairman of the Senate Foreign Affairs Subcommittee in name only.
5. Guns are something voters "cling" to because they’re bitter.
4. Religion is something voters "cling" to because they’re bitter.
3. Withdraw from Iraq now, but return if al Qaeda in Iraq takes hold in Iraq.
2. "Friendly" with unrepentant terrorists like Bill Ayers.
1. Would rather eat a waffle than answer tough questions

Al: really you need to let this pastor thing drop. Several people in several different churches have the same issues if not worse. Like the raping of their children and they find it out 18 years later. You can fool most people most of the time. Like Hillary has you fooled.

Barack picked up the head of the DNC appointed by Bill Clinton today. I have noticed that despite all of the relevant stories regarding the Clintons, even the fact that they ahve gained fewer superdelegates since Penn, no negative press. Not on Bill setting up the deal for an Indiana company going to China, no lambasting over the joke of the gas tax holiday, no coverage of the abandoningn of a long time supporter and staffer. curious.

Actually, al, Clinton got 4 "add-on" delegates from New York which were already scheduled and expected, just like the 3 from Illinois that Barack will get on Monday. In terms of real superdelegate endorsements, Hillary got 1 from CT and Obama got 1 from TX as well as a switch from Clinton, giving Obama net +2 and Clinton net 0 today.
As for Fester you sure are grumpy. Letterman's staff writes the Top Ten Lists. As for Carter, it's better to have someone peaceful support you than to threaten to nuke Iran, and as for Hamas, obviously he has no control over that and has rejected the endorsement.

Seat Florida: I keep wondering why folks blame Obama for the mess in Florida and Michigan. He and Hillary had the same stand about your situation until she needed more votes, then she changed her mind. I think we all want you guys to participate, but unfortunately, certain decision-makers in your state broke the rules and no one seems to want to pay for a new, proper election. But again, how is this Obama's fault? Why not rant at Howard Dean, who could actually do something about it?

No wonder democrats have finally come to the realization that the longer these primaries go on, the more damage done to the democratic party.
Just reading these posts prove it. I have never seen such out and out hatred.
I also have come to the conclusion that lying and political pandering is exactly what we Americans deserve after I read the hatred spewed about a PASTOR.

ABC and this forum should change its name to Clinton or Bust. It's no wonder you support her - she likes to divide people into little pockets too.
Stop blaming Obama for Michigan's primary. My state leaders created the problem, not the candidates. Your own freaking candidate said that it didn't count until she decided that it did!
If you want to pretend, how about this? Duke won the NCAA men's basketball championship! Hurray for the Blue Devils!
I want it to be so, therefore it is.

Clintons supporters are people over the age of 65 and uneducated blue collar workers...the truth must hurt.

Hatred spewed about a PASTOR, Dani girl? It's the other way around, hon. Wright was the one defiling our ears with his hatred.

Kafir,
The problem of pedophile preists in the Catholic church is not a recent problem and has been no secret that the church over the years has become aware of various priests and multitide of victims and not addressed the problem. Where have you been? What do you think the Pope was apologizing about in his recent visit to the U.S.? The history of the Catholic church in not addressing the problem and not letting any other jusrisdiction address it either.

Its horrible to see some older women (who don't realize, yes, they are getting older, and it shows) throwing other older women under the bus in the name of what is new and hip....because they want to deny that they are aging. Women don't want to see other women age. Huge sexism problem.

Obama supporters are funny because they like to think that if they support him, they are automatically viewed as being hip, young and educated.
Myself, like the rest of the Hillary supporters, aren't that pathetically insecure. We support the most capable person for the job, not who is trendy and who makes us feel "cool." Grow up.
Posted by: ray | May 1, 2008 6:05:07 PM
I get tired of him trying to be funny or cool to avoid answering the hard questions. And what's with him saying the word "stuff" all the time...between that and his stammering news conferences, he is reminding me more and more of George Bush everyday. I'm sure Tim Russert will go easy on him this Sunday, maybe offering him a glass of his own koolaid if he starts to get upset with him. I would love to see him go head to head with Bill O'Reilly, but he doesn't have the guts to talk to anyone that doesn't coddle him.

Fester. Hillary cant pick a husband who wont sleep around on her with chubby interns. And ugly redheads with huge noses.
She still authorized a war she claims she didnt fully agree with. A war that has led to all the economic woes this country is currently facing.
Whats more important people losing there jobs and homes. Not being able to feed there kids. Not being able to put gas in there cars.
Or a pastor who grew up in a era were he and his darkie peers were treated like animals, so he says some not so nice things about white america. So what
Its not like he told the people in the audience to hunt you swine down, and hang you from the nearest tree.
Oh, She also cant tell the truth when it comes to dodging sniper fire in Bosnia.

Funny list!!!

Barack Obama:
3 years in senate...2 of them campaigning
No experience at all which should make him even qualified to be an advisor to the president...let alone the president
He says you should vote for him based on his judgment...well, he went to a racist, hate filled church for over 20 years and his judgment did not tell him that was wrong
His wife is filled with hate and she lets everyone know it everytime she opens her mouth
He is even more liberal than Pelosi, ted Kennedy, Dingy Reid, and Murtha combined
Barack Obama is not fit to be a vice president, let alone president of the united states of america..a vote for him is a vote for socialism and a vote for defeat.
Posted by: matt | May 1, 2008 7:05:47 PM
Obama has done the near impossible - he has made even Hillary look good to me.
Obama is a closet socialist. Let's hope he would pay more attention in National Security briefings than he did in church. Hillary is insincere, but at least she is sincerely insincere. Now if she could only develop a better memory. Not only about Tuzla. Remember the 35 or so times she said "I don't remember" when being investigated under oath before Congress?
Vote for McCain - At least we know he doesn't hate America. And even though he is the center of his own universe, at least he doesn't think he should be the center of yours as well.

the republicans have a lot more than 10 reasons to not like obama
Posted by: treading water | May 1, 2008 8:29:13 PM
Can we agree on this, at least:
Republicans: just. not. funny.
Posted by: Alison | May 1, 2008 8:10:39 PM
No, were funny...we just dont want government running every aspect of our lives or want our economy weighed down by too many taxes and entitlements
