Senator Clinton Still Calling for a Debate

Share

May 25, 2008 5:32 PM

ABC News' Eloise Harper reports: Since the Pennsylvania primary Sen. Hillary Clinton has been calling for a debate with her opponent, Sen. Barack Obama.

She continued her plea in Penuelas, Puerto Rico, standing outside a restaurant while less than 100 people gathered on a dirt walkway. Obama has rebuffed these requests and has instead begun campaigning in states that would be important for him in the general election if he becomes the Democratic presidential nominee.

"I was informed that Univision will sponsor a debate between Sen. Obama and myself about the issues affecting Puerto Rico," Clinton said. "I accept that invitation. Anytime, anywhere. That is the best way for the people of Puerto Rico to have their questions asked and answered and for the rest of the United States to learn more about Puerto Rico."

Clinton reiterated her claim that she feels as though she has been a senator for Puerto Rico, because she represents so many of then in New York.

"I feel as though I have been your senator and now I want to be your president," she said.

Hill the Bosnian General is again out of control. She wanted a debate about what? She is the senator of the Puerto-Ricans already, she is the best ever candidate for Puerto-Rico, the best senator in the US, the best first lady, the best candidate for the United States presidency... She has to understand that she has to stop trying to bring down the winner at all cost. God bless America and God bless Obama. OBAMA08.

Know you are good at debating. with the fuel-tax issue, you made a bad idea look good but the truth why Obama will not agree to another debate is not because he is afraid of a debate but because any debate with you results in either him going nasty or you making people cast aspersions on his character. He is also being mindful that any attack on you now will be deemed as a sexist's.I love you Hilary. For me it is either you or barack but If i was in his shoes, I will not debate you either.

Hillary Clinton would win the general election hands down. It is a sham that the DNC is so screwed up. I hope that Clinton will drop the DNC and run independent. Let's see who wins then!

We need to dbate about whitewater, file gate, and ALL her scandals INCLUDING THE MYSTERIOUS DEATH of vincent foster in the White House and the poor other departed souls for whom she is suspect during their administration. Get lost Hillary.

Nobody could unify the republican party than Hill the Bosnian General, she will not win the general elections because she is unelectable as we all know it. As we all know also about the very poor management of her campaign (30 milion in debt) nobody will trust Hill with the management of the world largest and biggest economy. A debate will be an opportunity to try to bring down Obama, but Obama needs to preserve himself and protect himself against McNasty. God bless Obama, God bless America. God save America from Hill and her beloved friend old McCain.

I remember when I was growing up. The bully used to always taunt me and because I chose to take the high road, the bullie's enablers called me a chicken. Eventually, the bully bumped me and I whooped my opponents arse. Ya'll might wanna stop trying to call Obama the chump for taking the high road. He's already won, but he hasn't broke out the whoop-arse on her yet.

I think he lacks guts.I remember the first tough interview he got from the press; what am I saying? the only tough interview he ever got from the press. They started to ask him questions on Rezko and he got up and left and refused to answer any questions. Press members actually started booing when he left. Do we want that kind of gutlessness in a president?

Debate? Debate on what? What pantsuit she should wear or the date she should close down her campaign shop? This is seemingly becoming more ridiculous from her campaign side. I believe she is a very articulate and bright person, tell me why she is behaving this way? It makes no sense to me! Here is a good example of her not being capable of running our country- She doesn't know how to choose the battles-or slow down and evaluate what is going on-She is running on reaction and isn't that precisely what has happened with the Bush and the republicans? Look where that has gotten us-

Obama will not debate because he cannot stream his words and knows Hillary is more informed on the issues.

I think the Hil from Hell should debate Jimmah Cawtaw. Neither of them live in the real world, so they would have something to talk about.

Supers: Time to end this. Before she destroys the party.

You have the title wrong and anti-Hillary, as usual ABC and for that matter all the liberal press.

It clearly states that Univision called for the debate for Puerto Rican issues and Hillary accepted and called for Obama to accept.

Millions of Americans will no longer trust the liberal press news, because we have seen first hand how you twist it. To think that conservatives were saying this all along and that Fox News is the only unbiased source of news is one of the saddest things to learn out of this whole thing.

So we Hillary supporters end up voting for McCain and I guess that just completes the conversion.

I will hand it to ABC that they have done some decent reporting on Obama as well and the ABC debate didn't pander to him like the other MSM debates.

Check out today's gallup poll. Hillary is way ahead of McCain, while Barack is BARELY ahead of McCain. He can't win in a general election! Media won't talk about these numbers, of course.

If she could win the GE, why isn't she winning the nomination? Her clan is trying their best to raise hell about this and that - boo hoo - I'm losing and now I'll do anything to try and change their minds

Don't thank this will hurt the party because the people are the party and more than half want Hillary for the nominee but it may hurt some like John Edwards if he doesn't get the vice president position or Bill Richardson if he doesn't get the vice president position and may hurt Jelly Bean Dean just overall and of course the Obamakins.

Despite the fact that Obama is considered to be the highly probable Democratic nominee, Gallup Poll Daily tracking continues to show that, at the moment, Clinton is performing better against presumptive Republican nominee John McCain than is Obama. Clinton's five percentage point lead over McCain is statistically significant, and considerably stronger than Obama's 2-point loss to McCain among registered voters nationwide.

See......Good luck with that.

Maybe HRC should run as an Independant.
There is no way she will be the Democratic nominee. Bill and Hillary are now working toward the electorial college, what a load of BS. I guess I will contribute more to Obama...

She may not run independent but if she did, she would win. Look at the electoral map. Obama cannot win.

MR.0 CAN ONLY READ HIS SCRIPT.
BRILLIANT HILLARY WILL KNOCK HIS PANTS OFF IN ANY DEBATE, AND EXPOSE HIM!
PURE AND SIMPLE THAT IS WHY MR. 0 IS FRIGHTENED OF DEBATING HILLARY.
THIS IS NOT SPLITTING THE PARTY, THIS IS DEMOCRACY! ENOUGH OF ASKING HILLARY TO DROP OUT!
