Sign of the Times? Clinton At Half Price

Share

May 12, 2008 2:20 PM

ABC News' Kate Snow reports: Surely this can't be a good omen for Senator Hillary Clinton.

The pundits can argue all they want, her campaign may protest that she's still in the game, but at the "America!" souvenir shops at Dulles International and Reagan National airports, the signs are clear as day.

"Sale!" "Clearance!" "50% off!" they blare.

A pink t-shirt with an image of Clinton's head and the words "Madame President 2008: Making History."

A black t-shirt that reads "Anyone but Hillary" with a drawing of the famous "scream" painting.

The "Hillary for President" bobblehead.  And oh yes, even the Hillary nutcracker, "with stainless steel thighs."  All are marked half off.

A store employee says the products went on sale last Friday.

He says it's not meant to be a political statement, just a practical business decision.  Seems sales of Clinton merchandise have slowed way down since last week's loss in North Carolina and squeaker in Indiana.

Not every Clinton souvenir is on sale, just the items they have large stocks of in the warehouse.  The employee said the store is worried they might get stuck holding a lot of merchandise they can never sell.

Those things have been half off for at least a couple of months at Union Station in DC.

I'm surprised there are still buyers.

Clinton will lose. Pelosi, Dean, Soros, Kennedy and the others will win. Obama is just a puppet for the rest. If he's elected, his strings will be pulled by the entire left-wing of a once-proud party.

Bob Barr just announced his run for the Presidency. So, now that Bob Barr has dropped the RNC and become Libertarian, WHEN is Hillary going to drop the DNC and become Independent and beat everyone in the general election?!! This race just keeps getting more interesting by the minute!

Sen. Obama is 43 points behind in WV and 30 points behind in Nebraska! Doesn't that tell you something about our Democratic front runner's precarious situation? Sen. Obama seemed have appointed himself to be the Democratic nominee! He needs the super-delegates as much as Sen. Clinton does! Isn't this kind of political theatre that Sen. Obama promised to stop?

She's not even worth half price she's gone

NO ultra left wing anti-american ever
won the white house.
Obama is a toast in november.
He is un-electable.
Dean,Pelosi,Reid are you listening???

Epictetus: Ya, our front runner according the Hillary is black so no white person will vote for him. SHAME ON HILLARY and the Media for not talking about her misspeaking again and writing about crap like this.

Just because the man is half black and half white does not make him a winner. I am white and I am voting for him. Shame on all of you.

Why can we not let the process run its course? She still has a chance! Hillary Rodham Clinton '08!

Tyler

The process has already run its course. When you start hoping on Puetorico to win the popular vote, then you know mental problems has set in. The last time i checked, Puetorico doesn't even vote in the General.

That looks loke a «PRE-FIRE SALE».

Posted by: Ducalme | May 12, 2008 3:26:12 PM

Let's see which boneheaded is going to buy triple price of a sure loser in November.

The dems are shooting their foot again, something they seem to always be able to do election after election.

sell them all ... they will need space for the new items that represent Hillary's independent run for the presidency if the Dem superdelegates give the nod to NObama!

Barack Obama for president
Cindy Sheehan for vice-president

A liberals best dream come true!

Posted by: T | May 12, 2008 3:36:45 PM

Hey Obama haters. If Obama is so unelectable, how come he is winning? How is Hillary supposed to win in November if she can't beat Barack now? Use some common sense before posting next time.

DARN, I just bought 2 Hillary Nutcrackers at Full price. Do you think it's too late for a refund?

Rezko trial is in closing arguments. Obama's name was mentioned twice during the prosecution. Defense called no witnesses. Obama has spent a number of years in Chicago politics, and emerged cleanly. Rezko's buddy is not the freshman senator, his buddy is the sitting governor of the State of Illinois.

So with all this rush to fire sale, it sounds like a done deal. If so, why is the Obama support and the MSM so afraid to let the rest of the voters be heard?

Want to tell the Puerto Ricans their votes don't count? Ever hear about the 65th Infantry Regiment at Jackson Heights, Korea? Care to shave your mustache?

Posted by: len | May 12, 2008 3:56:41 PM

I know that the MEDIA created this FAKE called Obama but now they are even acting like he is the NOMINEE. Obama is NOT the nominee. Hillary could still win the POPULAR VOTE.
WHEN ASKED
Which should be more important in choosing a party's nominee for president?
Delegate count OR Popular vote - 80% Said Popular vote
And
All Obama and his supporters said the the Superdelegates should not go against the WILL OF THE PEOPLE well the popular vote is the WILL OF THE PEOPLE.
This RACE is NOT OVER!

rjoe: I think you have that wrong, wrong, wrong !! It is not time for anybody to rise above anybody else. It is time we are all considered EQUAL Americans. Can you say that? EQUAL?

I am a white woman, educated, middle-aged, and a loyal Obama supporter. Please, oh please, do not hurt his chances to take this country higher than it's ever been before by lowering this election to race. Bill/Hillary already did that beginning in NC, and it has cost them big time.

GO OBAMA.
