Clinton Says No Nominee on Tuesday -- Makes Direct Appeal to Superdelegates
June 01, 2008 7:34 PM
ABC News' Eloise Harper reports: Sen. Hillary Clinton, D-N.Y., thanked Puerto Ricans Sunday night for helping her to victory on the island where she spent five days campaigning, saying “Te quiero Puerto Rico!” Her real message, however, was to the undecided superdelegates who Clinton hopes will veer her way to salvage her campaign.
Clinton’s main argument is that she is leading in the popular vote, saying this evening, “More people across the country have voted for our campaign. More people have voted for us than for any candidate in the history of presidential politics. We are winning the popular vote. Now there can be no doubt. The people have spoken, you have chosen your candidate.”
The senator argued that there will not be a nominee on Tuesday saying, “So, when the voting concludes on Tuesday, neither Sen. Obama nor I will have the number of delegates to be the nominee. I will lead the popular vote, he will maintain a slight lead in the delegate count. The decision will fall on the shoulders of those leaders in our party, empowered by the rules, to vote at the Democratic convention.
Speaking directly to superdelegates, Clinton said, “I do not envy the decision you must make. But the decision has to be made. And in the final assessment, I ask you to consider these questions. Which candidate best represents the will of the people who voted?” Clinton said. “Which candidate can best lead us to victory in November, and which candidate is best able to lead our nation as our president in the face of unprecedented challenges at home and abroad?”
Clinton, as she has done for the past four election day speeches, made a direct appeal for money, urging people to go to her Web site. “I cannot complete this journey without your help. We have two contests left. We have South Dakota and Montana, and you can make a difference by visiting hillaryclinton.com.”
Pop singer Ricky Martin, who endorsed Clinton, blasted through the speakers as she entered and exited the stage. She swayed back and forth to the music with her Puerto Rican co-chairs. Clinton now embarks on a seven-hour red-eye flight to South Dakota where she will spend the day campaigning tomorrow.

ChayaFradle |I appreciate your wise words. We must remember that the Democratic voters are only about half the voters in a general election when you consider that the only Democrat to gain over 50% of the general election vote was Jimmy Carter in 1976 (50.1%). Bill Clinton only won because it was a three-way race.
Without Hillary's supporters, Obama would receive about 25%

DEMOCRATS FOR MCCAIN!!
Now that our party no longer represents our interests and beliefs as far as the presidential candidate goes, it's time for us to vote our conscience and support McCain in November. It is not an easy decision but we must do it. However, still vote for all other Democratic candidates so that a new Democratic congressional majority can work with moderate McCain. Let the Obama worshippers yell amongst themselves -- we have more important things to do.
MCAIN IN 2008
HILLARY IN 2012!!!!!!

Obama and gang are use to hand outs what should we expect him to win fair and square there are alot of strange things about this election just like the Irqa war sold to us even if we don't want it hope the republicans can figure out how to beat him or are they in on it ? They could have done a revote, and Fl. by thier rules should have been seated with full vote this whole thing is fixed I have never seen anything like this in my thirty five years of voting dem. something is not right .He didn't need her four delegates why take them ?

She wins the popular vote, if you count the caucus states by the number of the actual votes and of course you have to count FL and MI, they will vote in November.
If you count actual casted votes no question that Hillary wins.

"Obama and his pastors have set race relations back 50 years."
I contend that Messrs. Wright, Ayers, Farrakhan, Pfelger and their spokesman-frontman Obama has set race relations back 12-squared years. Abe Lincoln would have turned in his grave. A majority of Whites, Asians and Hispanics have been compelled to appreciate the glaring Atlantic between them and the Africans-African Americans.
"Hillary or McCain 08!!"
Clinton > McCain >>>>>>>>>>>> Obama
BECAUSE
God > Country >>>>>>>>>>>> ANY Political Party

tired-too....Puerto Rico is a wonderful place but the 38 delegates HRC got out of it aren't going to put her over the top, and her popularity there means little because they cannot vote in the general election.
I have no doubt that the Democrats will unite once this primary battle is over. There is too much at stake for us to allow John McSame to win in November.

Such an enlightening moment in our history. LOL Hillary the Unhinged has FINALLY ran into a wall that SHE can't forced her way through. Too bad she dosen't get to decide who the nominee is. Someone needs to point that out to her or better yet let her wait until Tuesday and find out for herself that the powers that be? are tired of the Clinton's stinking bottoms.

Obama will win the battle and lose the war. I experienced McGovern, and Mondale and Kerry and Gore. The electoral vote is all.

He'd be considered "centrist" in the communist party.

Someone give em four delegates please and count every vote so the whining will stop. No wait... just give them a "Time out!". This reminds me of the game where you pick the hand with the pebble in it and when you do, NOW it's best two out of three.

"watch out republican.."
What did you do to ALL the OTHER over 120,000,000 Republicans? Did you send Martians to the White House to keep Mr. Bush company? Is he the ONLY Republican left on earth?
Posted by: Brent | Jun 1, 2008 8:29:41 PM
