Clinton Supporters Protest Outside Obama Finance Meeting in DC

ABC News' Jennifer Parker Reports: Less than 20 people, mostly women, holding "Free Hillary" and "NObama" signs, protested outside the Mayflower Hotel in Washington DC Thursday night where Sen. Hillary Clinton, D-N.Y., is expected to appear at a fundraising event for Sen. Barack Obama, D-Ill.

They are part of a coalition of groups still angry that Clinton lost the primary.

"We don't want Barack Obama to be president," said Will Bower, columnist for the Huffington Post website, and co-founder of the "Party Unity My Ass," and "Just Say NO DEAL" groups.

The newly-formed groups are urging Clinton not to deal with Obama and fight for the nomination at the Democratic Party convention in August.

"The DNC has pre-wired this election to put in an insider candidate and we need to stop it," Bower said, citing the Democratic National Party delegate system.

"He needs to worry about the women," argued Patricia Lengermann of Maryland, a member of the "Just Say NO DEAL" coalition. "He never got a majority and she has 18 million voters," she said, "he should make a gesture to her to pay off her debt -- half of it she spent herself," she said.

Lengermann said she'll vote for presumptive Republican candidate Sen. John McCain in November if Obama is still the Democratic presidential candidate.

"We are still hoping for a miracle," she said, "I've never voted for a Republican in my life but I'm voting for McCain if Hillary isn't on the ticket."

Omg, these women need to get over it and get a life. Why should Obama pay off her debt, why don't these woman that are protesting do that. They care so much right. What a bunch of losers.

If Obama has had a meeting with her. She might have been giving a dose of his mind conditioning on a 1:1 basis.

Which hopefully being a strong woman she is immune to it.

Obama should never be president of this nation. Even pelosi said he has no experience and only ideas.

That should make the whole country scared. Pelosi to admit that he got this far. Only thing is his motivational and mind conditioning speeches are working.

Any way to stop it?

Wow these women need to READ the news. Obama has already asked his big donors to pay off her debt. And how the heck is Obama the INSIDER?!?!?! Obama is the new guy, the Clinton's are the biggest Democrat brand the US has seen since the Kennedy's. Please please please don't wreck this chance we have to bring some change to America's image!!

Less than 20 people. Less than 20 people! That doesn't merit a mention. let alone an article. It's less than the average size of a kids' class. Hey media: it's time to let the Hillary thing go. Get a new story line, find new material...please.

What a country! Even an ex community street organiser has a chance of being president.

Less than 20 people is pretty sad. The DNC does however need to get a grip on it's nominating process. Between the utter screw ups with Florida and Michigan, and the whole 'super delegate' (elitist) component, the party comes off looking as if they can't organize a one car parade. Throw in the historic pandering and divisiveness of identity politics and of course this is a mess. It really does feel as if Obama was 'selected' not elected.

OMG! Get over it u stupid women!u need to support Obama since he is now the Nominee now. Hillary is supporting Obama so get over it. Wow what a bunch of losers. If they plan to support McCain then they were not true Hillary fans or democrats, they were only republicans in deguise. Obama will win the General Election so it doesnt matter anyways what they think!

Unite the Dems 08'

Look at these lunatics!!! On the one hand, they know that Obama is the one with the money to pay her debt, and on the other hand, they still feel the boss and entitled. Oh my god. In spanish we have a saying: "Limosnero y con garrote" that will translate kind of "panhandling while treathing people with a stick"

Why are you reporting about 20 bitter people outside protesting?

It isn't like it was 2000 people or something.

Funny how the Hillary supporter Ed Rendell said "get over it" today.

These people were never with Hillary.

John McCain basically told Lilly Ledbetter that she should suck eggs.

Some background: Lilly Ledbetter was hired for half the pay of her equally qualified male coworkers. She filed suit -- and won -- when someone slipped a list of everyone's pay in her mail box.

The GOP court overturned 20 years of precedent when they ruled that she had to file her sex discrimination case within 180 days of being hired -- even though this was literally impossible as she could not possibly know her coworkers salary.

The Democrats in Congress, representing the hard working middle class as always, tried to correct the courts erroneous decision with the Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act.

The Republicans and John Mc Villain voted against the Ledbetter act.

Note that this act restored the interpretation of the law to the interpretation that the courts have applied for 20 years.

NO WOMAN WHO ACTUALLY SUPPORTED HILLARY COULD EVER VOTE FOR JOHN Mc VILLAIN!

Humm, I wonder how many of these women are Republican operatives! There is among some sentiment to vote for McCain; let me suggest you consider up to three new Supreme Court justices, John's history of non support for woman's issues and the treatment of both wives. Bottom line choices, do not vote for President or hold you nose and vote for Obama---I suggest it will be worth your while. Also what would Hillary prefer you do?

Barack Obama needs Hillary's 18 million supporters more than Hillary needs him to help with her 10 million debt.

The Dems definitely need to reform their nominating process. It was a travesty, and I hope the current bizarre system will be fixed. But it's time now to fix America which is struggling to bear up under the economic, health care, energy and foreign policy crises Bush's GOP hath wrought. Nothing should distract Dems from throwing these bums out and cleaning up this ungodly mess.

D, kindly do some research before you blow your brain out!
This arrangement is beneficial to both sides. Majority of their own big donors have maxed out donating to their candidate, but are not to the other.Clintons' financiers donate to Obama, Obamas donate to Clinton.Obama needs private money for his campaign. He flip-flop in public financing.Hillary's debt is due to her desire to serve the country but could not due to her opponent's questionable sources of financing. This is why there is the public financing with a max, so the candidate will not be beholden to the donors. Obama, originally was for it, but changed his position, so now he accepts private money. I wonder WHY?

matt w:  America's image?  By whom?  The people?  Since when is it so important to elect a green, inexperienced candidate to create an image for the world?  The people right here are talking loud and clear:  We do not want Obama! Our voices will be heard, whether you like it are not, in November. Elections do matter. We want a voice of experience, knowledge, and integrity. Obama is not it.

First of all Pelosi NEVER said Obama has no experience or only ideas. Is that all you have got, to totally make up a lie?
Second of all, you can always tell a conservative because there isn't much that they aren't scared of. Also they seem to be submissive personalities who tend to be subject to mind conditioning. You can tell by the way they so readily repeat anything they hear from the Right Wing Air Waves.
***********************************
So in answer to your question, no, the millions upon millions who have voted for him, support him or have endorsed his candidacy are not scared. We are Thinking, reasoning people who appreciate the opportunity to move away from those authoritarians who are destroying our country!

I guess what you need is a MILLION woman to show up with signs to get the message out---we do not want OBAMA. He is flawed. He stands for nothing but to say things that he knows people want to hear...he has promised money to every group imaginable---think about it every single group he talks to he promises them money and support---where in "heavens" name is all of this money coming from---put on your thinking caps. This man is a fast talking serpent that has no business being President of the US. I do not mind a color man being President, call on Colin Powell...he's got my vote. It has nothing to do with race---he will not be able to run this country---he will run the country into the ground!

My family, friends and I are lifelong (from voting age)Democrats, who are very disappointed to the present corruption in the party and its leaders. They rejected the most qualified presidential candidate and "selected" one who is NOT QUALIFIED.We are shock! it used to be the Republican's dirty political machine that smears attack the DNC's candidate. Now, the party attacks its own, their reject. How pathetic!Hilary or McCain'08 because we love America.God save America!

Posted by: IndayHill | Jun 26, 2008 7:56:12 PM

Really, these people should go and get a life!! So sorry that they are unable to accept the truth and trying to overturn results just to suit their way of thinking, albeit, the wrong way. If only they had put more effort into electing a government that will assure their best interest, they would not have had GW for the last 7+ years. Perhaps they did vote for GW, and so they just want a continuation of his third term. So just stay bitter and live in the years of decades past where they will forever remaim subservient to men.
