It's been less than two days since he crossed the delegate threshold to become the Democratic presidential nominee and Sen. Barack Obama's mark on the party is already being felt.

On Good Morning America Thursday, ABC News' Chief Washington Correspondent George Stephanopoulos reported "the Democratic National Committee will no longer accept contributions from federal lobbyists, will no longer take contributions from PACs" in keeping with Obama's well-publicized policy.

Leadership and willingness to hear the people is what made Obama the candidate of change. I can't wait 'til he wins the GE.

The voters in Montana had the last word. Obama won Montana with a 16% margin over Clinton!

Not giving up too soon: The power of clairvoyance on Hillary Clinton.

Hillary Clinton’s touted soon-to-come concession will be inconclusive and a cliffhanger. She still strongly believes in clairvoyance which as recently as the beginning of May reconfirmed she would get the nomination. Not all in her inner camp believed this, Bill included. The pressure by her staff to give up after North Carolina and Indiana was resisted solely because of this strong faith in clairvoyance. The RFK and June reference was not a misspeak, but had been discussed and rumored within the inner circle. It has been assured to her again and again that something catastrophic will happen towards the mid of June, and she would get the nomination. However, the pressure in the recent days has become too intense, but she is bidding for time, and still strongly believes in waiting till towards mid June as she was assured. Hence, even when she stages a mock concession this weekend, it will go thus: I am suspending my campaign to support BHO, but wish to retain the right to hold onto my delegates and votes, and enjoy the necessary visibility to continue to promote my agenda on health care, economy, ending the war, and the environment. Do not be mistaken, she still believes strongly that the nomination will be hers. If the DNC and her increasingly dissenting inner circle do not prevail on her to make an unconditional concession, she will hold onto this believe, and will try to force things to happen by herself at some point before August. She is herself becoming increasingly impatient against the advice that she remains calm and patient till all is fulfilled. I am one who no longer shares this belief.

It's another Dr.FeelGood tactic that dopes up the patient and hides the disease. Obama will continue to receive large contributions from sources that if revealed would damage his bid. It worked with Rezko and Obama is not a cat to change his stripes.

It is very hard to be courteous to the few people on here who as an announcement from the DNC is showing a sway in the direction of what is right and what kind of change much of the American people are calling for...

they have to continue to throw out hogwash and bologne all out of anger from some weird paranoid world of 5th grade spite.

It is hard as it has been over and over when people say things that don't help their candidate but hurt the issues...that hurt women's rights, that hurt soldiers that are killing themselves, children who aren't getting healthcare...and our safety as a country because the view of our allies and enemies is becoming increasingly more negative.

so keep throwing out the negatives that are based in spin and spite...

I am sure future Americans will be proud of you when they have to deal with the fallout from your words.

Lobbyist can create email ids and have some small group of people keep donating through online. Obama knows who is doing it and Lobbyist know that they have spun the system.

People loose who get fooled.

Good Job DNC. The lobbyists, PAC's and any special interests won't own our president or our party. And boy oh boy, it's long past time that the country started standing up and taking our country back for the regular people.

This is history making. This race was never about race or gender; it was about taking back our government from corporate control.

The lobbyists and PAC money and the quiet subtle erosion of vital laws that protect our economy and every aspect of our Democracy have been eroded through two administrations. This has brought us to the brink of fascism.

Senator Obama has lead a successful campaign because he and his team have taken this fundamental issue on.

Notice: both other candidates have the same lobbyist/strategist firm running both sides of a U.S. Presidential election.

McCain and the RNC should follow suit.

How about contributions from Unions? It's one in the same as contributions from lobbyists.

If Obama and the DNC are genuine about getting "special interest" money out of politics, they need to refuse Big Labor's donations too!

Posted by: alansmitheee | Jun 5, 2008 1:01:43 PM

I think that the DNC refusing PAC money is a good start, but "we the people" have to keep a close eye on things as the corruptors still loom.

Let's see if the RNC and "Maverick" will follow

Posted by: CCverve | Jun 5, 2008 2:57:11 PM

Compare that to George W. McCain, who has staffed his entire campaign with lobbyists!

Posted by: Thomas Mc | Jun 5, 2008 2:58:22 PM

Mr. Obama..
now that the Senate Intelligence Committee report (#2) is finally out..will you push Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid and John Conyers into holding impeachment hearings...(at long last?) lets really "clean" up this mess

Posted by: chabuka | Jun 5, 2008 3:47:59 PM

Chabuka:

Is he supposed to push to impeach Bu$h before the GE? That makes the dems look bad and energizes repubs.

Posted by: You | Jun 5, 2008 4:08:42 PM

Criticize Obama if you wish. But change comes in small steps. I hear about McCain the maverick, but when the rubber hits the road McCain is just like everyone who talks about change and then does nothing about it.

McCain's been in the Senate for what 20 years and other than McCain-Feinstein he's done little more than pay lip service to it and he can't even follow the his own reform law!

Posted by: Ken | Jun 5, 2008 5:10:38 PM

At least Obama's taking the steps and showing us what real change is about.

McSame's campaign is revolving door of lobbyist, who represent clients like the Myanmar junta, Ferdinand Marco, and Iran. Oh and let's not forget Phil Gramm the former senator turned bank lobbyist who is McCain's economic architect. He represented a Swiss bank who have warned their employees to stay away from America for fear that they may be arrested.
