Edwards Has Not Ruled Out V.P. Run
June 15, 2008 12:18 PM
ABC News' Mary Bruce reports: 2004 Democratic vice presidential candidate John Edwards this morning left open the possibility of a second run for the position. "I'd take anything he [Obama] asked me to think about seriously," Edwards explained in a "This Week" interview with George Stephanopoulos.
The former 2008 presidential candidate was quick to clarify, however, that he is not actively pursuing the job. "But obviously this is something I've done and it's not a job that I'm seeking."
As the veepstakes continue to heat up, Edwards said Obama should be left to make an independent decision. "Senator Obama ... has earned the right to make this decision for himself. I think he has enormous choices available to him, really great choices available to him. And I think he'll go through this process in a thoughtful, orderly way, and he'll decide who he wants to be his running mate. And that's exactly how it should be done."
In a separate interview, former Republican presidential candidate Fred Thompson offered a more emphatic response on his vice presidential intentions. "It's presumptuous for a person to turn down things that haven't been offered to them, and I don't think will be offered," he said. "It's not something that I want."
Thompson also joked about his rivalry with Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., on the campaign trail. "John wasn't that generous with me when I was running against him, you know."

Obama is a total liar. His whole campaign has been propped up by the corrupt liberal media.
No media -no nomination.
He cant control the media in the general election. He will lose.

Obama -- full of sound and fury, signifying nothing! Hope without substance, opinions that change daily.
An empty suit kept upright only by an enormous amount of hot air.

HAPPY FATHER'S DAY to all the dad's. a special wish especially to all the dad's who have son's or daughter's serving in iraq and elsewhere and unable to celebrate this day with your children.
to all the dad's serving in iraq happy father's day. and rest assured that your children are safe in america, in large part because of people like you who throughout our history have been willing to put their lives on the line in service of this country. thank you, you are not forgotten.

Senator Obama agreed with the courts rule, McCain did not.

quote...Same old Obama haters here posting rehashed and re-pasted posts making the same old arguments. They will be voting for the same old reinvented McCain come November. Their loss......
I keep seeing this silly statement. Either we ALL win or we ALL lose. If whoever is elected turns out to be a good president, we ALL win. If he turns out to be a bad one, we ALL lose.

I just want to see the Obama haters talk up their man McCain rather than waste our time on nonsensical hate-based attacks on Obama. McCain must have something positive going for hi, and he must have some firm political positions that McCain lovers would like to brag about? Something other than being a POW?

Here is something issue-based that I have a problem with:
McCain commented that it was "not too important" when our troops come home from Iraq.
I couldn't disagree more. I agree with Obama, we need to get out of Iraq as soon as possible.

Re: "Either we all win or we all lose."
Large numbers of folks who voted for Bush in 2000 regretted that vote, and many from 2004 have joined that group.
the question is whether you want to vote for McCain and regret that vote for the next four years, or vote for Obama. Then, should idiocy prevail, you can at least say you backed the RIGHT horse!!!!
Obama 2008 -- Yes, WE CAN!!!

To all of you complaining about the DNC halving your votes in MI and FL so you are going to vote Repub. You do realize that the Republicans did the same thing for the same reason. So what point would that prove? Additionally are you willing to allow this country to slide further into the crapper for your own childish revenge? Maybe you should punish your locally elected officials for allowing the primaries in your state to be moved in violation of BOTH parties rules.

BLAH BLAH BLAH - Obama/Clinton or I am voting McCain

My wife and I were Edwards supporters but he dropped out before we could vote for him. When he stomped on Hillary's landslide in WV by coming out for Obama the next day, he lost a lot of our good will.
The people in WV were exactly the people he geared hisi campaign toward. He wanted their voices to be heard. They spoke and then he did his best to squelch their message. Not too cool.

he couldn't carry his home state when he ran with john kerry, why would obama want him? hmmmmm.....come to think of it i hope obama picks him

Clinton would be political suicide for Obama. Unfortunatly the United States will not vote for a black man and a woman on the same ticket. We haven't moved as much forward as we'd like to believe. I think John Edwards would be a great VP!
Posted by: sg | Jun 15, 2008 9:33:44 PM
I like Edwards he has passion and his message seem real to me. I support OBAMA and whoever he chooses for the VP slot. Edwards would be a good one I believe. Vote for OBAMA 2008.

Look for a press release from the DNC in the next few days. They're changing the party mascot to a fish. With all the flip-flopping, this actually makes sense. Of course, come Nov...it'll be a dead fish. Stinky, too.

C'mon, none of you can defend McCain, or his positions, despite your threats to vote for him?
Posted by: Jillian | Jun 15, 2008 10:22:14 PM
You mean defending the absence of McCain declaring himself a party messiah and Washington outsider? Or his centrist attitudes?
