McCain Calls Obama After Clinton News
June 05, 2008 9:05 AM
ABC News' Sunlen Miller Reports: Sen. John McCain, the presumptive Republican nominee, called his Democratic counterpart Wednesday night around 7:00pmET, after news broke that Sen. Hillary Clinton would be conceding the Democratic race to Obama.
"He called to congratulate me," Obama told reporters on his campaign plane Thursday. "I called him when he achieved the nomination and so he reciprocated."
"He was very gracious. I said that I was looking forward to a civil, substantive debate on the issues and he agreed," Obama said of his GOP rival.
"He mentioned his interest in these town hall forums and I thought, I told him that we were definitely interested in joining beyond the traditional three presidential debates and that our staffs were in communication so they can work something out," Obama said.
Obama said that they also joked about the fact that if you had asked pundits a year ago whether it was going to be them as their respective party's presidential nominees -– there wouldn't have been many takers on that bet.

No education, no intelectual power and a 25 years in Washington DC are making McSame a very weak candidate who will not be able to put America back on track.

Obama certainly has surrounded himself and family with a lot of nasty people. And now today with the Tony Rezko conviction...... Doesn't he have any just plain "GOOD GUY" associates?
Posted by: Jimbo | Jun 5, 2008 8:43:31 PM
Both are decent men, no fight is a best fight. Here is a suggestion:
Obama- president
MaCain - vice president
The happy end!!

Mc Cain is probably looking for a job with the Obama White House :)

Hey Jimbo, Good Guys are a dime a dozen and are not newsworthy. Why do you think that the so-called news agencies scour every nook and cranny trying to find something, anything on ANY candidate? It sells, that's why.
I'll give both of these men an opportunity to stand side-by-side and make their case for the toughest job on the planet. I will have no pre-conceived notions and I don't care about their associations. If anyone else wants to vote on BS, that's their business. This country is heading in the wrong direction so I want to cut through the chatter and see which guy has the best plan to get us moving forward again.

It is nice to see some cooler and more adults are now posting mature blogs. This election is about issues and the American people not about sex or other people the candidates know or have come in contact with. I know I want a better future for my children and grandchildren. One where they are not saddled with debt and where they feel comfortable both in their own country and in the world. We cannot threaten or kill those who disagree with us or strave them just because they have a government we do not like. For some Americans they would rather fight first or as they use to say shoot first and ask questions later. I want someone who talks first and makes the use of force as a last resource. Let's keep the blogs clean and intelligent.
