Something's Different in Camp Clinton

Share

June 03, 2008 9:31 PM

ABC News' Kate Snow Reports: As news of Sen. Barack Obama's, D-Ill., triumph in the Democratic nomination battle travels across the nation, camp Clinton isn't hearing any of it.

Sen. Hillary Clinton, D-N.Y., is holding her election night event at New York Baruch College Athletic & Recreation Center in New York -- the first time the candidate has not been in a contested or about to be contested state during the entire primary process.

Other than the fact that we are 2 stories below ground in a cinderblock no-frills gym on Manhattan's Lower East Side, there are also NO televisions.

There have been large screen TV's at every one of Clinton's election night events. Her supporters watch the results come in, they cheer when they're shown on screen.

Tonight, no TV's, cell phones and blackberries don't work down here...no contact with the outside world. People in here cannot see the ongoing countdown clocks on the cable channels. They didn't know when Obama has crossed the threshold.

Hillary supporters, it is time to vote for John McCain.

Obama "supporters" almost unanimously attack Clinton and McCain because they cannot provide a reason to vote FOR Obama.

Time to wake up to the truth. Hillary will never be a major political player again. She lost to the left.

It's want the new democratic party wanted. It's what the new democratic party got.

Rigged! ALL Dems have lost my vote and my financial support. This party's procedures have NO credibility I'm still looking for a truly democratic party, because it is NOT the Democrats. We won't be fooled again!!!

I'm a great, great fan of Hillary but, if she runs with Obama as the VP candidate, I'll vote McCain in a heartbeat. I dislike Obama so much I would have a hard time voting for the ticket if he were the VP.
Hillary, if she could organize a decent internet fund raising campaign, would hold onto most of the big swing states as a 3rd party candidate. Obama and McCain would split the rest between them but neither would have as many electoral college votes as her.
Think about it Hillary!!!!!!!!!

My extended family of 19 disenfranchized Flordian white small town gun toting anti sexist anti elitist patriotic Reagn Democrats are registering as Republicans for the first time to defeat BO even with HRC on the ticket. JM will be our next President and the Democratic party is done. Let us find an alternative to them. They are sexist elitist and simply out of touch. Down down down with Bush, but, McCain any day over BO. He is a phony racist with all the wrong connections and 20 years of misjudgement with association with racists, radicals who have anti american and ant semite sentiments and have endorsed Hamas and the Gaddafi of the 80's. NOBAMA

Why doesn't anyone mention the Michigan vote problem?

There is no problem.

No sanctioned primaries were held in Michigan.

The DNC used a variety of measures to apportion delegates with 1/2 votes.

The results of the fictitious "straw poll" that was the unsanctioned MI primary was only one of the measures.

The DNC and its conspirary to write-off the Clintons will be back-fired. The old saying " the enemy of your enemy is your friend" rings the bell ? Mccain will have a dear friend to help him to the Oval office. Hillary supporters, it is time to think about what is and who is the best for your country not your party.

I truly echo Marty's comment! Right on! Any body is better than Obama who is the most racist, left wing extremist I have ever seen! Someone who can affliate himself to anti-Jewish, anti-American can still be our Presidential nominee! What kind of country is this! I cannot believe that the Dem party is letting the media select their nominee! It's not over, Not at all! I'm joining McCain to fight Obama! We cannot let this extremist in the White House! For God Sake for America!

The so called presumptive nominee of the Democratic party has had diffuculty in winning over the past two months and getting swept by HRC with blowout margins in some states. Are the DNC/Supers stupid? Are they brain washed with Koolaid? I will hold my vote and vote for JM with the other 18 family mebers. Anyone but BO. The guy is arrogant and phony. HRC praises BO at one of the debates and says " It is an honor, an absolute honor, to be with BO on stage tonight" and how does he respond...."You are likeable enough Hillary". Does that make you cringe the woman in you? Did you see the snub after NH in the Senate, as he saw her out of the corner of the eye as she was moving towards him? What a crock! "I have visited all 57 states" What areal crock. The man does not even know how many states we have? And you call Bush stupid for saying no 4$ gas? Stupid indeed, but, this guy hits Dan Quayle and GWB out of the park.

The way the so called enlightened media of CNN and MSNBC treated and dissed the strongest and the hardest working woman who ever sought office and referring to her in sexist and derogatory language is disgraceful. It is sad sad that some of them are even is disgraceful. Who in Hell is Gloria Borger anyway? She cannot hold a candle to HRC and the work she has done to emancipate millions of poor and the minorities. Gloria is a self serving glorified woman who has an inflated feeling of self

Hillary got beaten by the twisted media and its application in support of caucus contests which proved to be the only way that Obama could get positioning, but holding contests that operate in disfavor of the elderly and the working class, because not everybody can get there and are willing to be subjected to Obama's team's harassment. However, even the media could not suppress the silent majority that voted in favor of Hillary. Obama has to be embarrassed that he is the second choice behind the majority of Democratic voters.

Obama, second choice.

Obama, second choice.

Still better than an over-the-hill third choice whose memory is failing him, and who long ago sold out his maverick credentials to win the support of the racist, homophopic, xenophopic, lunatic, MISOGYNIST Republican right-wing.

Remember, it was McCain, not Obama who who laughed when one of his supporters called Clinton a B*tch.

As in:

McCain supporter: "How do we get rid of this B*tch?"(to loud laughter).

McCain: (laughs) "That's, uuhh, now THAT's a good questions." (even louder laughter.

McCain and his supporters are no friends of Clinton - They think calling her a B*tch is a big laugh!

"They didn't know when Obama has crossed the threshold..."

Do they hire illiterates to keep this blog? How about a proofreader or an editor, ABC? Nice sequence of tenses there. With stupid, illiterate media types directing an ever stupider, illiterate populace, it's no wonder an incompetent like Barack Obama can become the Democratic nominee.

"We will hire teachers and give them the pay they deserve"

"We will force oil companies to spend their record profits"

Barack Hussein Obama - St. Paul, MN

What a COMMUNIST!

Since WHEN in the history of the USA is the Federal Government in charge of hiring teachers and paying their salaries???

Since when in the history of the USA does the Federal Government TAKE profits from PRIVATE companies and spend as they see fit???

Obama is a true communist!

I knew he had more to his "change" than what he led his mindless sheep to believe.

I would not vote for her but to give the Lady her due... she is one tenacious fighter. I wonder if Obama has the same guts and, as one union supporter described, "testicular fortitude" of Hilary Clinton?

We will see if he's up for the task or fold like a cheap lawn chair in a hurricane.

@λόγος: nice comments this evening.

I thought Senator Clinton gave a very good speech tonight. McCain made some interesting points but, c'mon, he's not fooling most people. His campaign has got to work on these small venue things that seem less orchestrated than high school musicals. And his sarcastic smile is creeping me out.

Obama's speech was better than his usual in that he gave some substance with the fluff. If he debates like he orates then McCain won't have a chance. The VP choices are going to be huge for both candidates.

To Guardian, the choice is clearly defined: Four year under a new communist regime or four year under another same old Rep. Pick your poison.
