Limbaugh Begins Second Phase of 'Chaos'

ABC News' Steven Portnoy Reports: Rush Limbaugh, opening the second phase of his “Operation Chaos” campaign to make mischief within the Democratic Party, called on his millions of listeners Wednesday to take part in the Sen. Barack Obama campaign’s effort to democratize the party platform.

In announcing his latest “orders from headquarters,” Limbaugh called “all forward position troops in the 50 states – make that 57 states” to alert.  (During the primary campaign, Obama mistakenly said that he had visited “57 states.”)

Limbaugh, who is now referring to the presumptive Democratic nominee as “the Most Merciful Messiah, Lord Obama,” urged his audience to attend open meetings at which the Democratic platform will be discussed.

“This year, with the blessings of the Messiah, Lord Obama, the process of writing the Democrat party platform will be open to the public.  Do you see where we’re headed here?” the nation’s number-one commercial talk radio host suggestively asked.

This week, the Obama campaign and the Democratic National Committee announced plans to hold meetings in all 50 states to get voters involved in planning the document which details the principles, philosophies and goals of the party.

“You will be allowed to sit in the same room as elitist Democrat operatives to craft the Democrat party platform,” Limbaugh told his audience – estimated by industry trade magazine "Talkers" to exceed 14 million listeners a week.

“In coming days, we will tell you exactly how you can participate in writing the Democrat party platform, at the request of the Most Merciful Lord Barack Obama.”

During the first phase of the talk host’s “Operation Chaos,” Limbaugh called on fans to vote for Sen. Hillary Clinton, D-N.Y., in open Democratic primaries, to belabor the process and leave both Clinton and Obama bloodied.

While no empirical evidence exists to back up his claims, Limbaugh maintains the effort was a success.

On his program Wednesday, Limbaugh also called on his listeners to enter themselves into the Obama campaign’s lottery of donors who will be chosen to meet Obama backstage before his nomination acceptance speech at INVESCO Field at Mile High in Denver.

I dislike Rush as much as Randy Rhoades.

It is inevitable. Once Obama gets into office, a cesspool of commentators like Lumbaugh, Hannity and Gibson will do nothing during his term but to criticize anything he does. None of them have ever met him and they never will. Yet, they will spend endless hours telling us what makes him and his family tick.

The only way to stop this is to reinstate the Fairness Doctrine which these talk show guys hate like the plague because it forces them to also present the other side of an argument. I sincerely hope that President Obama and the Democratic Congress make this doctrine one of their first order of business.

Limbaugh still popping Viagra by the dozens and taking those "Boy-Island Sex Tours" in the Dominican Republic?

Only a complete moron would listen to Rush Limbaugh.

Yes, Comrade Beto--Crush that Dissent!

Or........the Left could come up with talk format that people will actually tune into. Ratings should drive who is on radio and TV--not the Ministry of Information.

There really is no justice in this world when people like Tim Russert drop dead while this gas-bag lives another day to spew hatred and lies, and engage in anti-american activities.
What a parasite.

********************************************** A lot of the people on the left aren't interested in listening to people tell us what we should think about how we should feel about it.

Listening to talk radio is toxic. It causes obesity and cancer.

Personally I feel sorry for Rush. He is living proof that money can't buy happiness. In fact he seems to be proof that being constantly bitter and unhappy can make money! How can a man be so financially successful and at the same time so bitter about the system that guarantees him the right to get paid for being ignorant?

Don't worry about Rush - he won't survive long enough to hear Obama's second state of the Union Address.

Morbidly obese, addicted to drugs, makes his living sitting on his a$$ and smokes cigars... Do the math.

Hey you all--there's a simple solution if you don't like Rush---turn the dial, you idiot.

"B" and others just don't get it... President Obama would not be able to curtail Freedom of Speech. Sadly, The Great Buffoon will make more money during the Obama administration than he would during any Republican's term. That's why he wants Obama to win. So... if you are a ditto-head... (and willing to admit it, despite the curse it places on the heads of your grandchildren)... then remember: a vote for Obama means more money for Rush! The Fat Guy is counting on YOU!

Psst! If you want Rush off the radio, flip to the classic rock station instead. Your brain will thank you.

Good one Rush. How will the bona fide meeting attendees ever be able to pick out the one or two right wing nut jobs in their midst?

Or if a whole bunch of them show up at some meetings and vote to add some ridiculous position to the 2008 Democratic platform such as advocating direct negotiations with al Qaida starting with an apology for the Crusades, do these idiots really think such suggestions would go anywhere?

If the plan is to nudge the platform a bit leftward, Rush obviously has no clue what that would take in terms of numbers. He would need proportionately many more "agents" than he claimsto have produced in the primaries, who don't mind wasting several hours of their otherwise free time in this manner. This is especially unlikely to occur in that these recommendations will be advisory only and not likely to change the platform one iota unless they actually make sense.

But hey, whatever flots Rush's boat. Bet he's still Jonesing for those pills.

What a joke, as if, the DNC and Obama have any real plans to listen and implement any suggestions made by the public.

Trying to fool people into thinking that they are an open party, open to suggestions, open to change, and open to honesty. All to humor the Kool-aid drinkers.

Who could possibly believe the DNC anymore, especially after the RBC and super delegates ruling, to give Obama the nomination.

The DNC as a party is not open to anything or anyone taking power away from their policy making.

Notice how all the comments from the libs who don't like Rush are nasty and mean-spirited. Typical behavior from libs who can't intellectually defend their ideas so they resort to name calling.

Pop quiz: What was the first intelligent comment uttered -- on radio or in public -- by Rush Limbaugh?

Trick question. We're still waiting...

Posted by: Champ | Jul 9, 2008 4:40:57 PM

Airmanc5...hate to burst your bubble, but NOBODY IN AMERICA is afraid of your "$400 million man".

We're all highly amused, though, that there are enough suckers in America who worship a fat, pasty Viagra-addict who takes those "Boy-Island" Sex Tours to MAKE HIM a $400 million man.

You sure know how to pick your heroes, Airman5c.

LMAO.

It is always ironic to me that the people who always complain about limits on free speech - would shut Rush Limbaugh up in a second if they could.

It is also ironic that these same people get their dander up if we look cross-eyed at a terrorist, but apparently want Rush Limbaugh to die based on their statements on this Board.

Most Merciful Lord Barack Obama flips on getting out of Iraq...

Most Merciful Lord Barack Obama flops on domestic spying...

Perhaps when Most Merciful Lord Barack Obama understands that there are still 50 stars on the American flag rather than 57, people like Rush Limbaugh will have a little less to rant and rave about...

Until then, we await the next flip flop from the Most Merciful Lord Barack Obama...
