Obama and Clinton Will Raise Funds Together Next Week in NYC
July 05, 2008 11:49 AM
ABC News’ Sunlen Miller reports: Sen. Barack Obama and Sen. Hillary Clinton will appear together at two New York City fundraisers next week in an attempt to raise money for not only the presumptive nominee but also to settle some of Clinton’s campaign debts.
"You know, I haven't been closely involved with the details," Obama said, but "I think our respective fundraisers have been working together. As I've said before, I want to make sure that we're providing Sen. Clinton with some help just as she is going out of her way to campaign on our behalf. We're gonna be united. I want us to be able to concentrate going into the convention and -- coming out of the convention -- on winning this election."
According to the Obama campaign, the former opponents will hit the fundraising circuit in Clinton’s backyard for three fundraisers.
On Wednesday night, Obama and Clinton will attend two fundraisers in Manhattan –- one for Obama’s presidential campaign and one to help Clinton raise money to pay off the more than $10 million she owes to campaign debtors.
On Thursday morning they will appear together at a women’s fundraiser breakfast for Obama at the New York Hilton and Towers. Sen. Obama has been courting Sen. Clinton’s fundraisers slowly since Clinton suspended her campaign on June 7.
Last Thursday, Clinton and Obama held a joint fundraiser at the Mayflower Hotel in Washington D.C. It was an attempt to introduce Obama to some of Clinton’s deep-pocket donors.
This is the first public appearance together for the former opponents since their much-publicized event in Unity, N.H., last Friday.

Everyone --
As an Obama supporter let me apologize for Davis. You can see how he treats even fellow supporters who have any slight disagreements with his God candidate.
Most of us Obama supporters are nothing like him. We don't clutch his picture and cry and yell pompous garbage at anyone who even slightly doubts His Lordship's Obama fallibility. Many of us Obama supporters are disappointed because we see the same changes in our candidate that you do. And those of us who voted in the primary on issues and not charisma are disappointed.
So please don't let jerks like Davis influence your support for Obama or your questioning of him. Every movement has it's looney kool aid drinkers and he's just today's loudest.

Barack Obama has practice in knowing how to pay someone off. His friend Rezko showed he how.

Why are we talking about anybody who is not the nominee? Let's focus people.

I will never vote for Obama for reasons that have nothing to do with my preferred candidate, Clinton. If Clinton had never run, I still wouldn't support a lying, criminal racist, sexist fraud like him. The only reason she endorsed him was because she knuckled under to the DNC. Now Obama has her on a leash, dragging her to all his campaign stops, and sucking the money from her supporters. He's so completely unfit, nothing Clinton can say or do will garner my support. I've lost respect for her over this. McCain 2008.

And beside Hilllary R. Clinton is far more intelligent, interesting and the breath of fresh air that American has been waiting for.

There are other candidates besides these two and I may just write in Hillary even though it probably won't count. At least my conscience is clear that I didn't help send this country in to a bigger cesspool than it is already in.
Besides that until the convention nobody is the nominee. Who knows by the grace of God something might change before August on the anointed one and ruin him politically.
Posted by: J | Jul 6, 2008 12:36:35 AM
well j you have stated your case and one day you will find out what hillary is all about no but she wants obama to pay off her debt that she acumulated by running a bad campaign if she doesnt want to support him she dont need his money but remember hillary is no angel at the end of the day she is still a politican!!!
Posted by: angie | Jul 6, 2008 12:40:23 AM
dont you like obama hillary and him have all most the same policies
Posted by: angie

Posted by: angie | Jul 6, 2008 12:45:02 AM
im sorry i dont see where hillary would make a good president she has no foreign policy experience and i know obama dont have much either but at least he went to iraq and talked with our military in 2006 hillary is not very liked in ny i have alot of family and friends there ok she was bill wife and first lady but i still think that doesnt qualify her for president i just feel she is to fake and shes in this more for her and not us
Posted by: angie | Jul 6, 2008 12:51:35 AM
what i meant was not assasanation even though hillary has mentioned that i mean secertly trying to destroy him with smears etc making him look bad
