Obama Raises $52 Million in June
July 17, 2008 7:26 AM
ABC News' Rick Klein Reports: In an email to supporters this morning, Sen. Barack Obama's presidential campaign announced the presumptive Democratic nominee raised $52 million in the month of June.
The $52 milllion the Obama raised in June -- the month the primary campaign ended -- is a far bigger haul than the "only" $22 million he raised in May, his worst fundraising month of the year. It approaches but not does exceed his record $55 million in February.
Earlier this month, Republican presidential nominee John McCain announced his June fundraising numbers: $22 million, McCain's best fundraising month of the year.

Hmmm no wonder Obama supports stimulus checks.

I live in Massachusetts and so far not one person hss told me he or she intends to vote for Obama. Everyone so far says they are Hillary supporters and will vote for McCain.
Strange that this shift does not seem to be picked up.
I am a Hillary supporter. I have always voted Dem but will vote McCain this time. Also will vote against Kerry who supported Obama instead of following the state vote for Hillary.

Good going Obama. Maybe now you can come up with a T.V. ad about something besides how you grew up! ...That is, if you can think of anything you’ve done that ever amounted to anything. There may be some Budweiser commercial writers looking for a job...Baghdad Bob may still be available!

Obama is a prostitute - He stands for nothing except pushing what ever agenda is going to get him the job. Following this guy is like Michiganders who followed Feiger. This guy is dishonestt and has demonstrated no real leadership. He is simply a good speaker. Hillary could have done the job but she is a prostitute also. Selling her support for cash. I am really disappointed and disgusted that my party would surrender leadership capability to statistics. Being the first to put a serious black candidate forward at the expense of real ideals. Obama's radical church, radical wife, radical friends are his radical beliefs.

Maybe this means Obama can get by without Hillary's petulant deep-pockets. But there still has to be concern at Obama HQ over what happens when their own donor base taps out.

Last week, all the neoconservatives were laughing about how Obama'financial support was waning. They really got a kick out of how John McCain was catching up in fundraising with $22M in June.
Who's laughing Now?

Remember Obama had those $28,000 Warren Buffett parties and many others, I wonder what the % of small donors are contributing now! I am like "Dem. no more", can not in good conscience vote for Obama, and I don't know many that are! The DNC cannot afford to send postage free solitations for money! Because if they do, I write on the form "Hillary 08" and mail them back I also do this with the Obama mail! They want to send them, I'm just returning them, let them pay the postage!! Spend some of that 52 mil.

NOTE to NeoCons: Stop pretending to be Hillary supporters.
There is a lot of nasty stuff on this site about Senator Obama that is allegedly written by supporters of Senator Clinton.
I am pretty sure that most of this junk is posted by conservative operatives who are trying to sow seeds of discontent. You know, they say something really nasty or negative, supposedly on behalf of Senator Obama or Senator Clinton in order to upset the other side.
However, if you are a Clinton or Obama supporter, please don’t fall for this disinformation campaign and respond negatively.
Let's keep our eye on the ball folks.
John McCain was one of the principal advocates for the war in the first place, even though he has been critical of President Bush’s conduct of the Iraq War in recent years.
As a leading Republican Senator, John McCain could have impeded the Iraq war. Instead, John McCain and George Bush started a war that did not need to be fought – that Iraq war caused the deaths of more than 4,000 American soldiers and wasted more than $1 Trillion that imperils the American economy.
This unnecessary war has strained the military (especially the reserves) way too much. McCain’s crew has spent too much. And too many people have died for McCain’s mistake in Iraq. Now John McCain wants you to hire him to fix the Iraq quagmire that he caused. No…I don’t think so.
Senator McCain is also opposed to a woman’s right to choose, and he would be appointing Supreme Court Justices during the next four years. Vote for John McCain, and say goodbye to Roe v. Wade.
Now, you can vote for John McCain out of spite. Well, that’s one way to go. Generally, Hillary supports Obama because she believes in the same fundamental causes.
I trust that you will support your candidate based primarily on their respective positions on the issues that are important to you.
Based on the issues, Obama is a much better choice than McCain.

matt...his donor base will never tap out. He has people who are sending in $5 and $10 dollars. That what I call being supported by the REAL Americans

THE BEST MONEY CAN BUY

I would support a level playing field where all candidates - not just the two major ones - had equal funding. I hate the way a relatively few rich people and organizations control our country. I am not critical of Obama's 52 million June or saying McCain is the good guy only raising 22 million. I am saying that this is why no other party has a chance and that we badly need campaign reform - but with the two major parties in control, that is never going to happen.

A good speaker is exactly what we need in our country. Somebody who isn't afraid to do what he/she believes is good for this country. We do not want another selfish warmonger like the Bush campaign. I've met many men and women in the Armed Forces that are supporting Barack Obama. We want direction and support, something he promises to deliver.

Its just these McCain trolls posting for their McCain points. Keep it up! Nobody buys your bs. Obama is fundraising all this despite the fact that the economy is awful. And those big money dinners you talk about, the most you can give to Obama is $2,300. The big money checks go to the DNC, which is not being included in this 52million number, so lets get our facts straight here.
But then again you neocons never cared much for facts.

The raising of money does not impress me. Having some worth while solutions to problems facing the American public does. Obama is genuinely lacking in this area. The chief qualification to be President of the United States is not marketing skills. Finally, to toss
around the number 55 million to fly around in planes and give speeches, when a large part of the US citizery is
struggling to pay for food and gas is
insulting.

So truthtell, you are saying 10 million individual downers sent 5 bucks a piece to Obama and that 4 million donors sent 5 bucks to McCain. The polls - favorable though they might be - don't seem to reflect that - Obama does not have an over 2 to 1 lead - to say the McCain's is mostly from rich people are corporations would have to be reflected in an even bigger lead - on the 5 to 10 buck donation theory. I wish you were right. But I think the vast majority of the money on both sides did not come from the masses - nor is our government chosen by them or reflective of them - it is reflective of the special interests with all the money.

The White House is for sale to the highest bidder. That is barack so far. Money buys everything except happiness and love.

I have been a soldier for twelve years and I don't know anyone who supports Obama. A lot of us have issues with Bush but we know that an Obama victory means defeat for us and a lot of wasted lives and effort.

all of you can trash talk all you want. no way any of you liars and "hillary supporters...boooo hoooo" are going to put a war supporting classic republican pro life corporate loving guy in the oval office whose own supporter said the recession is in the mind. i'm sure when you go into the voting booth, you're going to suck it up and vote obama. so keep on coming here and bullsh*tting everyone about how you just cannot support a liberal classic democrat for the middle class and women and a fair economy like obama. noone believes your crap.

I have contributed to his campaign and I will continue to do so until he gets to the office.
