The John McCain Workout
July 24, 2008 7:58 PM
ABC News' David Wright Reports: John McCain fielded an unusual campaign question tonight from a sports icon.
McCain was attending a cancer summit in Columbus, Ohio, sponsored by former Tour de France champion Lance Armstrong's foundation, LiveStrong.
Armstrong said that he was asked on Wednesday at the National Press Club with whom he would rather work out: Obama or McCain.
So Armstrong asked McCain: What do you do for exercise?
"I hike, I swim, I do light exercises," McCain said, noting that he recently hiked the Grand Canyon rim to rim with his son.
"I mainly enjoy hiking," McCain said, "so you can enjoy the outdoors." But McCain also acknowledged that campaigning itself is good exercise -- shaking hands on the rope line, traveling on the campaign trail.
"And," he said, "you don't eat much cause you are usually talking while others are eating."
McCain even suggested to Armstrong: "You could probably run [for President]."
The crowd applauded. Armstrong laughed and -- at least partly -- demurred.
"Well, maybe we'd start with governor first," Armstrong said.
For the record, his answer to the National Press Club was apparently that he wouldn't work out with Obama or McCain. The reason? "Neither one could keep up."

When is the anti war crowd that supported Obama's ""get all troops home"" going to protest Obama for him wanting to invade Pakistan and continue the occupation of Iraq and Afghanistan now

I guess a fluff piece on McCain is the media's nice way of saying that he really doesn't have anything to say importance. I guess it's better than hearing him whine about the media not massaging his tootsies enough.

Flip flopping seems to be an exercise McCain does quite well.

McCain should be doing crossword puzzles, playing card games and plsying party memory games (recommended for senior citizens) because he can't seem to remember much these days; i.e. his positions, his votes, recent history, geography, who is the leader of Germany, the difference between al queda, extremists, Shites and Sunnis and whatever else he forgets tomorrow.

"Obama is too busy chain smoking and hiding from debates to work out"
Also he's busy trying to find those other 7 states and competing with rock stars.

I have spent due time today arguing with uninformed. Even under this headline, I will state read my previous posts on the other threads.
I have to work in the morning and am too tired to argue with ignorance.
My heart and soul votes Obama 08.
This litle white lady in Florida appreciates your reading attention. God knows, the racist bigots have plenty of platforms.
Goodnight & sweet dreams,
OBAMA 08

As a former Bush supporter, I've decided to vote for Barrack Obama because he has made no bones about it - we're going into Pakistan. This is the kind of thinking I had THOUGHT my president would have engaged in and was bitterly disappointed when he didn't. Barrack Obama impresses me with his no holds barred attitude towards Pakistan. Islamabad, here we come! (hopefully)

going by how obama is loved in other countries may be exactly what we need--as the last8 years have made us look like warmongers---and think of the cost--and think what a great victory we have gained---ANOTHER LIABILITY---

Amazing that the PENTAGON story didn't come out until later AFTER Obama said it wouldn't be right to spend campaign money on the visit to a hospital to see the troops.Just like in Afghanistan after he got off the plane he said nothing to the troops that were lined up for hours to shake his had .He got into a humvee and left without saying jack to them.McCain is the (right) one for president of America.

Didn't Armstrong also ask McCain about his roll in cutting government's cancer research funding? Why isn't that in the news????
Posted by: hang | Jul 25, 2008 10:31:58 AM
I find it odd that a man who survived cancer does not want to support a candidate that supports universal healthcare so others can do the same. Instead he would rather ask a fake staged question to McCain. I assume he is trying to protect his tax free off shore bank account and not pay his share of taxes. Maybe he wants us to all be forced to ride our bikes because of the devaluing dollar. What a sell out.

***********************************************Paul,You are still a Bush Supporter as well as a McCain supporter.
(Sorry Paul, but it is easy to spot the remaining 17% of the people who think the country is on the right track) and plan their comments in hopes to appeal to the low information voters.
