Average Joe Has a 'Successful Dump'
August 20, 2008 1:35 PM
ABC News' Z. Byron Wolf reports from Wilmington, Del.: Sen. Joe Biden, D-Del., channeled the brush-clearing everyman ethos of the current President George W. Bush today as he awaited word on whether he would be selected as Sen. Barack Obama's running mate.
As he left his house for the second time today, he had a load of wood in the back of his pickup and told the assembled reporters, "Don't get hit (by the traffic), guys, I'm just going to the dump."
Upon his return from disposing of the logs, Biden pulled up in his pickup, saying he had nothing to report, but "I had a successful dump."
"I had a successful dump. I dropped everything at the dump. It all worked out and by the way I got a second load, guys, coming and if anyone wants to help me unload let me know, those stumps weigh about 150 pounds."
No one jumped at the opportunity from the press corps.
But he did enlist a family member. In the pickup with him was his nephew, who he did not name but said we would be seeing playing baseball.
He was asked about news that erstwhile Democrat, Sen. Joe Lieberman, Ind.-Conn., will be speaking at the Republican convention and said he did not know about it.
Asked to describe his recent trip to Georgia, Biden said he would love to, but would wait until "all of this is over."

The media is being silly parked outside his home and Biden is having a field day laughing at the ridiculousness of it all. Good for him No matter what your politics, it's funny.

"Anytime you look down and see an Obama floating around .. and then getting flushed - that's a successful dump!"
That is great!!!!!!

Where is HIllary. Ya'll are completely ignoring her.

I'd enjoy the Obama campaign pulling a name out that no one considered, and same for McCain.
Let's see, who might those picks be...
For Obama, my choice remains Zinni.

without Hillary, obama will lose....with her, he might have a chance....

I am an average Joe and I too had a successful dumb.

Jo: I love your comments. You are so right. What are his supporters going to do when he loses? He is so arrogant and overly confident that he is going to win that he needs to get a loss slapped in his face. And he says he loves America. Yes, that's why he attended a racist, white hating, anti-american church for 20 years, now calling himself a christian? Give me a break. Also Obama's bold beginning began when he doublecrossed the woman runnin against him for the senate by taking her to court, lying but won. That's the underhanded candidate that would do anything to get what he wants. McCain doesn't do dirty tactics like that. And he won the nomination only because Nancy, Dean and Reid cornered the superdelegates primising them favors granted if they voted for Obama. The democrat party was never as it is today and we never had a candidate like Obama running for president. He brought all this disruption to the party.

geecee: Let me go on record to say that Biden has a big mouth and a small head. He is the worst of VP choices on the shortlist and if Obama picks him he is in trouble.Caroline Kennedy should stay home and take care of her house. She knows politics like I'm making a movie. Obama doesn't need anyone to help him screen VP's. He should be able to do that himself with the help of Solis, Kennedy or other members of his staff. McCain can make that decision on his own. I can just see him trying to run this country. And Obama does need Hillary if he wants to win otherwise he will be crying in his drink.

If Obama picks Biden, we will have the first dual-plagiariser ticket.
Posted by: Fred | Aug 20, 2008 6:19:05 PM
Would any of you handle this with the grace and humor as Biden?
If people are camped on my lawn, even at my celebrity, I'm not talking to them or bringing them bagels. That's for sure.
I'd have helped you with your 150-pound stumps, Joe. Maybe if these guys were smarter, they would have (and gotten an off-the-record scoop to boost).
Biden is the last of the average Joes in D.C. and will make an exceptional VP.

Politico: Nader Predicts Obama to Pick Hillary R. Clinton
Nader says that "Obama has only 75% of Clinton Voters"
Count Ralph Nader as unimpressed by the crop of supposed finalists to be Barack Obama’s running mate.
“I don’t think he’s that dumb,” said Nader, commenting on widespread speculation that Obama’s choices are down to Sens. Joe Biden or Evan Bayh, or Virginia Gov. Tim Kaine.
The smart pick, according to Nader, is Hillary Rodham Clinton. Nader phoned into Politico on Tuesday afternoon to offer his prediction that a surprise nod to Clinton is actually what Obama has in store — never mind the talk of mistrust between the Clintons and Obama.
“He just has to swallow hard and do what JFK did” in picking rival Lyndon Johnson in 1960, said the liberal activist and maverick presidential candidate.
According to Nader’s logic, Obama may dislike Hillary, but will conclude he has no choice but to get over it if he hopes to leave next week’s convention in Denver with a unified party and a decent shot against John McCain in the fall: “The polls show 25 percent of her supporters have not gotten on board.”
“He’s got to be very concerned by the [neck-and-neck] polls and by what happened at Saddleback,” added Nader, referring to the recent candidates forum hosted by evangelist Rick
Nader said his own sources — and, to be blunt, they sound a bit sketchy — lead him to believe that Clinton remains in serious consideration. A friend, he said, recently saw Clinton family intimate Vernon Jordan on Martha’s Vineyard and reported the “usually very effusive” Jordan to be suspiciously “tight-lipped.”

I think his word choice is very telling===it means he has successfully been dumped. We can rule Biden out as Obama's VP. Of course, I am trying to figure who would want to be Obama's VP at this point----he is crashing and getting ready to burn. People are learning more about Obama and they don't like it.

Please, please please, let it be Obama-Biden '08. You just can't make this sh-- dump up.

In a sharp turnaround, Republican John McCain has opened a 5-point lead on Democrat Barack Obama in the U.S. presidential race and is seen as a stronger manager of the economy, according to a Reuters/Zogby poll released on Wednesday.
McCain leads Obama among likely U.S. voters by 46 percent to 41 percent, wiping out Obama's solid 7-point advantage in July and taking his first lead in the monthly Reuters/Zogby poll.
The reversal follows a month of attacks by McCain, who has questioned Obama's experience, criticized his opposition to most new offshore oil drilling and mocked his overseas trip.
Reuters, August 20 2008
It is about time that a reputable news organization reflected the truth. Obama is an empty suit. Obama is a fraud. After close to nine months about that fraud talking about change, voters still have yet to hear any thing of substance from that fraud Obama.

I wonder why none of the reporters took him up on the ride to "the dump." Sounds like he might have been upset that he was dumped. Doesn't the media finally want to report the real news of Obama and given Biden the chance to talk?
Posted by: chattyway | Aug 21, 2008 4:19:20 AM
Biden is too old. He is 65 and McCain is 72. Thinking that if voters think McCain is too old, then Biden certainly qualifies for the same label.
Posted by: Lawrence | Aug 21, 2008 4:43:06 AM
But, Obama said the Washington establishment has got to go. Why would you pick a VP insider with 35 years in Washington? flip flop flip flop flip flop Add to that the democrats did not want Biden during the primaries and had to withdraw early.
The inexperience of Obama is showing more every day and the Georgia crisis is just beginning with Russia.
Do you really think Obama is ready to handle the Russians?

Close sources say billionaire NYC Mayor Bloomberg may get installed as VP for either party by the Anglo Dutch oligarghy made up of international bankers and financiers for the specific agenda of privatizing the US government for big $$$ profits.
Bloomberg has been privatizing NYC's governmental programs, infrastructure and jobs under the guise of 'private partnerships.' A good mayor would make sure taxpayer monies are utilized efficiently versus going to the private sector to finance projects and whose bottom line is always profit and NOT the public's.
Caroline Kennedy works in one of billionaire Bloomberg's companies and new job to pick Obama's VP is not coincidental. She is to specifically pick Bloomberg, her boss to fulfill the oligarghy's agenda. Her wealth ties in to that inner circle of millionaires and billionaires - oligarghy.
