Biden Warns: 'We're Gonna Give 'Em the Devil'
August 25, 2008 5:54 PM
ABC News' Matthew Jaffe reports: No sooner had he arrived in Denver for the Democratic convention, Sen. Barack Obama's, D-Ill., vice-presidential pick, Sen. Joe Biden, D-Del., threw down a stern warning to Sen. John McCain's, R-Ariz., presidential hopes.
"We're gonna give 'em the devil," Biden told supporters as he stopped for lunch at the Mile High City's Bodey's Smokehouse.
"That's right, you give 'em hell!" came the cry from a woman in the crowd of about 100 that quickly formed when they learned that the veep nominee would be coming to the downtown Writer Square BBQ spot for his midday meal.
Biden spent about five minutes shaking hands with the onlookers, who swarmed around him as soon as he arrived.
"I'm running with Obama," he said. "I'm running for Obama!" drawing cheers from the crowd.
Then the Delaware lawmaker headed over to the small Hickory Smoked Pit BBQ Express stand to order a handful of pulled pork sandwiches. "Keep five," he told the cashier as he gave a generous tip after paying for his food.
Dressed in a blue blazer and khakis on the hot late August day in Denver, Biden was accompanied by his wife Jill, son Beau, daughter Ashley, and brother Jim as they grabbed some grub.
Only hours before, Biden had touched down in Colorado after flying out this morning from his Wilmington home. Before leaving Delaware, he stopped off at the Amtrak station he uses every day to commute to Capitol Hill. There, he was given a warm welcome by home state supporters who sent him off for the start of a whirlwind few months on the campaign trail leading up to the November election.
On Monday night, Biden and his wife will attend Michelle Obama's speech at the convention. Two nights later, on Wednesday, Obama's running mate will take his turn at the mic and address his party as half of the ticket that Democrats hope will win the White House this fall.

POTUS OBAMA - ITS INEVITABLE.
Cynics,
I know you'll be watching this week when he takes the stage, so go ahead and get a good look at the next President of the United States.
While you're at it, the future First Lady is on at 10 tonight.
DON'T HATE, CONGRATRATE!
After all, whining is not an effective tool against the OBAMA/BIDEN ticket.
THIS IS GOING TO BE A LANDSLIDE!

From UK Guardian
http://mail.google.com/mail/#label/a-TEST+TEST+-+PR+TEMPLATE/11b95680d4e5e8f7
USA Today opinion poll today indicated the challenge Obama and Clinton face in uniting the party. Fewer than half of Clinton's supporters — 47% — are fully behind Obama. Some 23% say they might change their minds before the election, and 30% say they will vote for McCain or stay home.

haha the freeper comments are amusing. Your worry is palpable, "my friends". You should sit this one out. Either that or lose and deal with the frustration that you weren't able to re-arrange the deck chairs on McCain's Titanic.
If freepers were stand up comedians you'd be the richest of the lot.

The Rats are scurrying.
ABANDON SHIP! SAVE YOURSELVES! RICH OLD MEN AND PAIN KILLER ADDICTS FIRST!
This is going to be a landslide, and I'm gonna love it.
By the way, Repugs can't win a thoroughbred horserace with a an old donkey as their main entry.
Believing that a donkey can win a thoroughbred horserace shows how dufus the cynics really are.

@fsteele:
You trust the British media to tell us how our elections are going to turn out? Please.
Sure some of the Hillary supporters will be the sour grapes types, but if you look at what's happening in Denver right now, the PUMAs are getting bashed as "wackos" by *OUR* media (Chris Matthews).
If the Hillary supporters want to be sore losers, have at it. Obama's going to beat McCain by +10 points once the Independents come out, and they more than make up for Hillary's whining sore losers.

I agree, 100%. You do have a devil, a little one, compared with Chairman Mao, who declared "Revolution We Can Believe In!". The small devil is only dare to say "Change".

Give um the devil? Does he mean Michelle?

For context, the margin of victory in the 2004 GE was 3 million. This spring 18 million voted for Hillary, so even a fraction of them voting for McCain can give the GOP the victory this November -- and they aren't budging!
47% of Hillary's supporters currently backing Obama (per USA Today) is the lowest figure I've seen. Pew had 52% recently iirc -- and said Obama had made NO progress with this group all summer. All the polls seemed to be holding steady all summer, with at least 3 million Hil's voting for McCain. In July Op Res had 9 million total Hil's not supporting Obama, some voting McCain and more staying home.
Opinion Research had Obama losing about 10% and McCain gaining that same amount last week.

I can't wait to see the Rednecks roll over and die when a Bi-racial man becomes POTUS in this beautiful country of ours.
One dimensional thinking is incapable of handling 3-dimensional change.
TIME TO ROLL OVER AND DIE.

Riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiigt, Dumbsteele.
Man, didn't you know that tricks are for kids?
Didn't you know you can't win a thoroughbred horserace with a donkey as your hope for winning?
Didn't you know OBAMA is going to blow McCain't off of the map?
Didn't you know you'll be eating ALL YOU CAN EAT "Blackened Crow".
You're funny, but denial will soon turn to REALITY. Your mommy won't be able to help you then.
Santa Claus, Easter Bunny and the Tooth Fairy are out of the office this time.
You, McCain and all other cynics are hurtin Grasshoppa.
Strap on a Depends. It'll minimize the damage.

That's a well worn canard and it's patently false. They are budging. They will continue to budge.
From the NYTimes 8/24/08 ("Delegates for Clinton Back Obama, but Show Concerns"):
"Still, more than 80 percent of the delegates surveyed said they enthusiastically supported Mr. Obama, and about as many (including more than two-thirds of Mrs. Clinton’s pledged delegates) were confident he would win the election. Majorities across all regions except the South said Mr. Obama held an edge in their state."
Two-thirds = 66%.
