Cindy and Michelle Lend Voices to Anti-Poverty Ad

ABC News' Teddy Davis and Hope Ditto Report: Their husbands may be hammering away at each other on the air waves as they compete for the White House, but Cindy McCain and Michelle Obama have both lent their voices to a $1.8 million ad being launched by the anti-global poverty group ONE and its Vote '08 project.

Watch the ad here: http://www.one.org/voices/

Viewers don't actually see Mrs. McCain or Mrs. Obama in the ad. Instead, their voices --- and those of four others, including New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg -- flow through the mouth of actor Matt Damon.

Damon begins the spot in his own voice, saying, "Thanks to everyday Americans who chose to make a difference, millions of lives have been saved in the world's poorest countries."

He continues, in different voices, citing the organization's success in treating AIDS, curbing disease, and educating children.

"But there's still more to do," says Mrs. McCain.

Later in the ad, Bloomberg and Mrs. Obama tout the non-partisan character of the effort.

"Democrats, Republicans and independents," says Bloomberg before Mrs. Obama adds, "Who are coming together as one."

"We welcome your voice," says Damon, closing the ad in his own voice.

The ONE Campaign's new ad, "Voices," is set to debut during the commercial breaks on ABC's "This Week with George Stephanopoulos" and NBC's "Meet the Press." It will run on national cable through Thursday, Sept. 4, the final day of the Republican National Convention.

Hats off to Cindy McCaine and Michelle Obama for doing the right thing. It's truly gratifying to see the rich side of our society lending a hand in order to draw attention to our issue of poverty..Just like the Kennedys, or the Gores or the Edwards or the entertainment industry.....

Yup, after Michelle's 260% raise ($195,000), and her company's 513% profit ($1,000,000) from the "honorable" freshman Senator from Illinois' earmark, Michelle could be proud of America again, and to show the charitable side of, rather than a mean, America.

Maybe Cindy should take a look at her step-sister. I saw on TV her sister only received $10,000 from their father when he passed. Cindy got it all. Now who would not share with their flesh and blood? McCain and Cindy both seem uppity, it is all about them. Also, will McCain and Cindy are going around the world doing their thing where are their children?? I never see them with them at all.

Before you get all warm and fuzy over this "Global Poverty Act" sponsored by Obama, google: The United Nations Millenium Declaration and The Millenium Goals. On its face, the Declaration & Goals would change the world if achieved.
What is not obvious is that, by signing the Declaration, the US has agreed to pass legislation (The Global Poverty Act) empowering the UN to enforce our funding obligation. A Global Tax (UN proposed) will force American taxpayers to provide the money.
The increased US financial obligation is 0.7% of our GNP ($65 billion a year, in addition to what the US already pays-backdated to 2002 and going forward to 2015). Total amout due by 2015 is $845 billion.
But even this increased amount will not be enough to satisfy the requirements of the Obama sponsored "Global Poverty Act", which contains billions in added aid to Africa.

At the "Saddleback" conference, Obama said that America's moral failing was the failure to abide by that basic precept found in the Book of Matthew: Whatever you do for the least of my brothers, you do for me."

What greater shame can Barak Obama bring upon himself than what is now known today about his half-brother George Hussein Onyango Obama?

Of course George was useful enough to Barak Obama to mention as a vignette or portraiture in establishing his own image in Dreams of My Father. But the stark reality of his young bother's life can be witnessed today in Nairobi. We now know that George lives in a filthy shanty that is the size of one of our bathrooms. To sustain himself, he makes less than a dollar a month.

At their last meeting two years ago, George talked to his famous half-brother. That was when Barak Obama traveled to Africa with his wife and daughters. Nothing much happened. But George has more pressing matters to deal with daily than his half-brother's presidential bid: community violence, poverty and disease.

If I knew that George would get it, I'd send him a kick-start check for two hundred dollars right now: one hundred from me, and another hundred to cover for his half-brother, the next President.

Who knows; maybe Barak Obama will reach into that cloud of transcendence and pull out another best-seller: The Nightmares of My Brother.

How do the McCains decide which of their seven houses to be in, when they feel bad for poor people? Or is it in their even-more impoverished four houses, which makes it better? I think I just avoided making a serious mistake.

Don't contribute to this idea. How dare you rich bastards sit there and ask us to contribute to foreign poor people when just by saying it you are ignoring us. Us Veterans. Us Seniors. Us Victims of natural disasters. Us victims of banking and finance schemes. Us that are in bankruptcy from our spouses dying from some desease that left us without a cent and sometimes hundreds of thousands in debt. US that got lied to and ripped off by our own insurance companies that refused to pay for our loses during fires, landslides and storms of all type. Us that contributed to our retirement funds for years and suddenly some guy says to us, sorry folks all the money is gone, tough luck. US who have worked for the company for years and have it suddenly shipped overseas along with our jobs. Screw you Matt and Cindy and Michelle and all you who join this stupid effort. America isn't great. America is a con job! Talk about being out of touch. America isn't "one" you people make sure of that. America isn't "patriotic" America isn't anything but the biggest con job ever invented. AMERICA Is just GREEDY and just because you are the "elite" doesn't mean you have any credibility or are any smarter than the average fifth grader. You people actually disgust me and in the case of Cindy and Michelle your husbands do to. Who gives a crap how many houses you people own when I and millions of other AMERICANS like me own none. Cure poverty here first. I am offering Sen Obama $60 Billion in green jobs and homeownership oppotunities for our nations poorest underpriviledged and do that without tax payer money. You think you might pass that on to Mr. Audacious? Tom Canavan The Benefactor Project.com Posted by: Tom Canavan

Sorry folks Obama won't do!! After all the democrats had thier big chance two years ago and did not but give Bush a open Check-book for War!!! The democrats are more the blame for the War and did nothing to stop it. Obama is a slug and ticker don't let him trick you out of your vote, the World's future counts on it?? Mr. McCain has worked hard all his life to make our dying Nation a better place to live for all. Maybe if you stop selling the drugs and get off your ass's and get a job you can own a home too!!! If Mr. McCain wants to own 20 house that his right folks!! get over it!! Obama got his home from his jail bird friend Rezko!!
