Clinton: If We Don't Agree With the President, Call Michelle Obama

ABC News' Eloise Harper reports: Sen. Hillary Clinton used to say that she was the one who could answer the phone at 3 a.m. and know what to do as president.  Speaking at the Emily's List lunch, Clinton, after congratulating Michelle Obama for her speech last night, said if the president isn't on her side -- call his wife.

"I know a little bit about how the White House works," Clinton said.  "And, you know, if the president isn't exactly on our side -- call the first lady, and with Michelle Obama, we are going to have somebody who answers that phone."

Clinton also expressed how personal politics is to her, and when you run for office, you never know what you are going to get.

"For those who supported the women who have run -- the women who are holding office -- please remember that it's not just about politics -- it's really personal. Because when you start running, you have no idea where the path will lead."

Clinton also had words of thanks for the group of women at the event.

"Your work is putting more cracks into that glass ceiling, and thanks to you, one day, it will completely shatter."

let's not forget HRC started her political career as a republican, and did not switch parties for any dep political epiphany, but because she saw she would not be able to get ahead in the GOP. Yes, she won 18 million votes, but lost the delegates. Her positions were weak and she and her husband played dirty politics at every opportunity. Her own mistakes cost her the campaign. Chelsea will have to be the next Clinto0n to run for Pres that might have any kind of chance.

My husband and I both supported Sen. Hillary Clinton. We were devastated when she lost. But after our shock, we picked ourselves up and we stand tall and proud with Sen. Obama. The people out there protesting and saying that they are Clinton supporters that are now supporting Mc Same, are people that I believe were hired by Rove. It sounds like Rove is driving this BUS!!!!!
Wake up people, if the dems do not get in this year, it will be the beginning of extinction of our party!
Peace!

Jan...Obama won the nomination fair and square. He had more votes and more delegates. If you don't count the Rush Limbaugh votes for Hillary then Obama won by even more. There is a name for Hillary supporters who won't accept that she lost..."sore losers"!

Keep in mind Hillary supporters, if she is seen being to blame for an Obama loss, do you honestly think African Americans like myself would ever vote for her in the future? Making up 13% of the US population she can't win without us.

Hmm? All of these so-called Hillary for McCain people all sound the same, almost as if all of these posts on all of these websites are coming from the same source, like they are reading from a script. I wonder why? Could it be that this is part of the McCain campaign's insidious plan to create friction where there really is none? I have met plenty of Hillary supporters, and they are all planning on voting for Obama.

Does anyone really think Hillary will ever be president if Obama loses? She's going to be blamed if he's defeated and will lose the support of the black community and other Obama supporters, her only hope is for him to win with what appears to be her help and then she can win the election in 2016

DLM, Vanessa, hillfany, fact check, LeeLee07, NOBAMA... You guys are a bunch of republican morons. Spiteful, vindictive, stupid republican morons without an ounce of intelligence. You have no values. You will vote for something your nominee worked her whole life to end. And Jan, the reason why Hillary's name is not on the ballot is because she knows how important this election is for her to ruin the party.

Roe v. Wade aside, what about the millions of Americans that still won't get healthcare under a McCain administration? What about the millions of Americans that will fall farther and father behind as the rich keep getting richer? And how many more Americans have die in a war without end?

There is absolutely no excuse for any Democrat, Independent or even Republican who cares about the future of this country to consider not voting for Obama.

Taj and GOBAMA are right that these alleged Hillary supporters are Republicans which means they are not morons. They are just deliberately trying to keep the feud going which helps the Republicans.

I understand what's at stake in this election.

McCAIN =

(1)the draft +
(2)World War III +
(3)continued economic disaster +
(4)taking away women's right to choose +
(5)invading a sovereign country +
(6)negative perception of the world about America +
(7)appointing judges to overturn Roe v. Wade +
(8)richest Americans getting richer (dissolution of the Middle Class).

Why are so many Americans so dumb to be standing by McCain?

I guess it's perfectly okay to you idiot PUMAs that McCain joked about Chelsa being Hillary and Janet Reno's love child? Or that he sat quietly when one his supporters asked him "How do we stop the bitch"? Or that he offered his wife to join in a topless beauty pageant?

PUMAs: you're an embarrassment to yourselves and all women, especially Hillary.

GOBAMA,

I'm an Obama supporter. Just b/c I'm pro-Obama doesn't mean I have to be anti-Hillary. Hillary has moved on. She's ready to unite this party. It's Bill. It's Bill Clinton taking this way too personal. I seriously doubt Obama would act this way if it were Hillary whom won the nomination.

I am dumbfounded with people who have made this whole process about them. There are those of us who believed in a president Edwards, or Biden or Richardson or Clinton. It defies logic and reason, and frankly, these folks are too ignorant to be part of a rational debate. Let's take back the country first, then you all can go sulk in the corner and have a tantrum of not getting your way. I hate to break it to you, but people are dying because of the decisions we make... if you can complicitly elect John McSame, the blood of soldiers are on your hands. Shame on you.

If Hillary is polarising her party this seriously, what would she have done to the country?

Posted by: Mark | Aug 26, 2008 8:12:03 PM

nobama,

I am certainly afraid of the judge who will overturn Roe v. Wade. I think there are a lot of voters out there who care about women's choice, and they don't realize that John McCain has pledged to overturn Roe.

Interesting, I wouldn't imagine somebody on heart who loves (true love) Hillary, will ever think of voting for Mccaint who called Chelsea Ur........ and downgraded Hillary's health care plann " Hillary Care" . God forbid.
You Guys are fake go to that your fake Conservative Negative convention next week.
We know you are fake conservatives interested in turning Hillary's name to party spoiler. But thanks no!!! We love Hillary.

Any woman who would consider a vote for John McCain is acting on emotion and not any kind of rationale. That is not thought well considered and a McCain WH will set back women's rights 60yrs

Posted by: Kat | Aug 26, 2008 8:13:41 PM

do any of you rabid Clinton supporters ACTUALLY believe that if you happen to derail this campaign that Hillary has a shot in hell for 2012? bad blood goes a long way.

Posted by: jbiz320 | Aug 26, 2008 8:15:07 PM

Most of these Hillary supporters are hacks--bored Republicans and self-rightous people who feel that their own relationship with redemption is more important (perhaps more real) than the difficulties faced by so many Americans.

Please, for the love of America's future, stop. Just. Stop.

You know, for those "HRC supporters" who claim they will vote mcsame just because she didn't win this nomination, I don't question your loyalty to HRC, your commitment to HRC, or your decision to cast your ballot...I question your sanity. Sad,
