Clinton Mum on VP Chatter
August 22, 2008 11:35 AM
ABC News' Eloise Harper reports: If Senator Clinton has any indication that Obama wants her on the ticket, she sure isn't letting on to it.
Today Clinton is touring the New York State Fair, as she often does. She is holding a brunch and then will walk around the fairgrounds.
It was over a year ago that Clinton, the then democratic frontrunner, was eating pork on a stick at the Iowa State Fair. Today the New York Senator might be sampling some fried Oreos or other local treats.
The former first lady was in Florida campaigning for Obama yesterday, and refused to answer any questions about being on the ticket. Subsequently she didn't verbally express any interest in that possibility.
A recent CBS/New York Times poll stated that 28% of convention delegates prefer Clinton as Obama's Vice President, which is higher than any of the other possible VP contenders. But aides to the former Democratic candidate refuse to speculate and are directing all questions to the Obama campaign.

So this is a story about Clinton not saying anything.
Well, I guess it goes with all the other stories about Bayh, Biden and Kaine not saying anything, either.
Somehow I think we'll know when Obama tells us, which as his campaign has been saying all week, would be later today.

As long as it is NOT her ......

as long as it is not her.....obama will surely lose
Posted by: chris | Aug 22, 2008 11:57:56 AM
I hope it is not her so Obama can lose and w ecan get back to Hillary winning in 2012 becoming the first woman president of this great republic.
Obama can lose his Senate seat in 2010 because Illinois voters don't want Obama because of extremist positions of letting infants die after born-alive during botched abortions.

Regardless ... SENATOR CLINTON '12. She was robbed by the press, Dean, and Pelosi this time, hopefully, in four years, Pelosi will have been impeached for crimes of ignorance, and Dean discounted for his stupidty for contributing to the demise of the Democratic Party this election.
Senator Clinton, if offered - please reject it! The ticket would be so out of kilter - should be Clinton on top!
We'll just have to deal with McSame for four years and maybe Huessein can have time to decide what he really stands for, where his heart really resides, maybe he will remember any sermon his preacher shouted over the past 20 years, decide what his real name is and why he changed it, and maybe even trace his roots and spend some money on his many siblings residing in territories unknown! May God Bless America and Hillary Clinton - Champion for the People!

if obama wants so much to be like JFK, he should do as Jack did and choose his closest rival to help him win in November....

What's with the suddenly gray hair on Obama? Is this supposed to make us consider him more experienced?
Posted by: charlie35 | Aug 22, 2008 12:12:27 PM
McCain, a war hero who was held prisoner by the Vietnamese for over 5 years, has a lifetime of foreign policy experience, not including the over 5 years the war hero spent as a POW in Vietnam. John McCain, former POW and war hero, also happens to be a war hero who was held prisoner by the North Vietnamese for over 5 years.
McCain is a war hero, do you hear me????
McCain was a POW. He doesn’t like talking about it
Posted by: bud day | Aug 22, 2008 12:13:12 PM
and in case anyone isn't paying attention and is kind of ignorant about history, mccain is incapable of being anything more than an average president, but he is more qualified than obama and his record strongly suggests that he is no dubya....and i'm a democrat who believes kerry would be running for re-election right now if mccain was his running mate in 2004....
Posted by: chris | Aug 22, 2008 12:15:49 PM
furthermore, a kerry/mccain ticket back then would have the effect of slowly destroying the anti-American factions of the republican party, whose members include dubya, cheney, rumsfeld, etc.

While being a war hero is VERY admirable ... how does that make him more qualified to lead a nation? I have never understood this argument. Perhaps Webster's should change the definition of experienced and qualified?
I like the comment about Hussein suddenly having gray hair on top of his hair - not at his roots. Another snafu, of many, tactic gone wrong???
Posted by: volboi | Aug 22, 2008 12:18:07 PM
Yes, being a war hero and a long time senator doesn't give him the experience to be president.
But being a community activist does! Lol.
Do Obamabots ever hear themselves?

I hope and pray that Hillary will come out of the convention as the nominee! America does not want Barack Obama, as we are seeing as his numbers continue to decline in the polls!
Posted by: temptest | Aug 22, 2008 12:25:28 PM
As a reminder, there are 140 undeclared super delegates remaining, FL and MI will now be seated at full strength. Something tells me we are going to see a balloting back-and-forth with a huge surprise on Wednesday with Hillary as the nominee.
Hillary 08

HRC not even vetted??? "Doesn't make any sense other than Obama needs someone he can control. Guess HRC is just too smart for him...
Posted by: CuriousIndep | Aug 22, 2008 12:26:57 PM
Of Obama's total delegate count with supers, that pushed him over by the way, at least 100 were originally for Hillary in the beginning but switched over to Obama in the interest of "unity" when the primaries ended. Ask yourselves, especially in light of Rendell saying he'll ballot for Hillary, if you really think the super delegates who were with Hillary are not going to switch back at the convention. Of course they are.
Posted by: jbatterson | Aug 22, 2008 12:28:23 PM
Also, of the 55 delegates Obama "won" by the fraud at the DNC, for the "uncomitted" vote on the MI ballot, including four of Hillary's delegates, are rumored to e switching back to Hillary. Imagine you're a John Edwards delegate who didn't like Obama, and had a slight prference for Edwards over Hillary. At the convention, how are you going to vote?
Posted by: jbatterson | Aug 22, 2008 12:31:17 PM
It is my hope that the Democratic Convention turns into a complete circus with Hillary landing in the center ring and Hussein, Pelosi, and Dean tossed in the left behind side / freak shows!
GO SENATOR CLINTON!!!!
Posted by: volboi | Aug 22, 2008 12:32:03 PM
the Clintons should be ashamed of their behavior - how they ran the campaign and racked up debts they now expect others to pay; how they have not gotten behind the democratic nominee even though Obama's politics are the same as Clinton's; how they would rather see Obama lose than win... shame on them. If I were Obama I wouldn't give either Bill or Hillary speaking opportunities at the convention - they haven't earned the right. PUMAs - grow up.

OB and his supporters SUCK IT UP AND PICK HILLARY,HILLARY,HILLARY!!
You will win with her on the ticket. The polls will skyrocket. .
Mc Cain's campaign is hoping your not smart enough to pick her. THEY KNOW OB & CLINTON TICKET WILL BLOW THEM AWAY.
