Clinton Mum on VP Chatter
August 22, 2008 11:35 AM
ABC News' Eloise Harper reports: If Senator Clinton has any indication that Obama wants her on the ticket, she sure isn't letting on to it.
Today Clinton is touring the New York State Fair, as she often does. She is holding a brunch and then will walk around the fairgrounds.
It was over a year ago that Clinton, the then democratic frontrunner, was eating pork on a stick at the Iowa State Fair. Today the New York Senator might be sampling some fried Oreos or other local treats.
The former first lady was in Florida campaigning for Obama yesterday, and refused to answer any questions about being on the ticket. Subsequently she didn't verbally express any interest in that possibility.
A recent CBS/New York Times poll stated that 28% of convention delegates prefer Clinton as Obama's Vice President, which is higher than any of the other possible VP contenders. But aides to the former Democratic candidate refuse to speculate and are directing all questions to the Obama campaign.

Official Net Worth: McCain $36.4 Million, Obama $799,000
Well, at least we know that Obama is not the "Elitist" both Hillary and John McCain tried to Label Obama as..Huh
Obama and his Wife Michelle just recently paid off their Student Loans, to Columbia, Harvard, Princeton Universities and moved in to a well deserved Home in a Chicago Suburb.
Obama also believes He an his Wife, who both make MORE than 250,000 per year as well as Other Americans whose Yearly Salary Exceeds 250,000 per year, should also be TAXED HIGHER...
McCain Does Not believe in taxing the RICH !!!

Official Net Worth: McCain $36.
4 Million, Obama $799,000
One of the clumsy arguments that the McCain camp tried to make today in hopes of slowing down the media freight train over not knowing how many homes he and his wife, Cindy, own was that Barack Obama (D) is also a rich guy who lives in a mansion himself, just like McCain. I believe the term they used was "a frickin' mansion.
"
Well, there's just one problem with that argument. These guys aren't even in the same class.
Earlier this year, the nonpartisan Sunlight Foundation did an analysis of the net worth of each of the 535 members of Congress based on their personal financial disclosure.
Guess which one is worth about $36 million and which one is worth $799,000?
According to my trusty calculator, that means McCain's net worth is more than 45 times greater than Obama's.
So much for that argument...

There is definitely a national presidency in Obama's political career. If not of the US then of the Republic of Kenya. Obama's fans will definitely be able to address him President Obama one way or the other.

Americans could care less who is richer, who owns more houses, blah, blah, blah. We want to hear solutions for the banking and housing crisis, the escalating threat of war in the Caucuses, what the candidates plans are to revitalize the American economy. So far, Hillary has put forth broad plans, and while I don't always agree with him, so has McCain. The people over at the Obama campaign, all they seem capable of doing is pointing their fingers, passing the buck, blaming everyone else, and being really lackluster in the polls.

This party line stuff is garbage. The same people who are trying to paint Hillary and McCain as rich elitists are the same hypocrites who brought you John Kerry, whose wife is a billionaire. Why didn't wealth bother Dems back when Kerry ran?

No single couple has done more to destroy Obama's chances of winning in November than the Clintons! And her supporters, many with hidden agenda of racism written code, are following their reckless example. The Clintons provided McCain his road map for victory through their vicious "kitchen sink" negative campaign ads, all for their selfish ego. Strange that the Clintons and their irrational backers still have the temerity to be insisting that Hillary be on the ticket. If Obama is stupid enough to do this, he is toast--especially to the millions of young people who followed his dream of creating a new, more hopefu, more positive paradigm in American politics. The Clintons will never be loyal to Obama. They are ruthless egotists consummed by selfish desires. We don't need that! The more reasonable Clinton supporters have longed joined the Obama team. That is the kind of support he needs.

Pumas, Be alert!
"No Pledge for single term by Maccain"
John McCain stated unequivocally in an interview with Politico on Wednesday that he would not pledge to serve only a single four-year term, rejecting a suggestion that some allies believe it would allay questions about his age. “No,” McCain said flatly, “I’m not considering it.”

The reason Obama is stalling so badly on naming his VP pick is because he probably had already decided on someone a couple of weeks ago who falls in the same category as him: young, inexperienced, weak on foreign policy, etc. etc.
Then the Russia/Georgia crisis emerges. He quickly changes his mind, and decides on a running mate (other than Hillary) who has strong foreign policy credentials.
Then all of a sudden the national race tightens, key battleground states start swinging McCain's way, and he learns that at least 50% of Hillary supporters are not pleased with him as their candidate.
So now, he is having MAJOR second thoughts once again about his choice, and might even be leaning towards Hillary.
And I'm sure with the next national/international crisis, he'll have to change his decision all over again.
Can you just imagine this guy having to make split decisions on behalf of the entire country on a daily basis????

What is Obama's plan to revitalize the economy? Private Public Partnership schemes, that's what. Lame.
While I don't love McCain on the economy, at least he is pro-Nuclear energy. Talk about energy independence!

Right now 45 million are without health insurance. So, as a starting point we already know that 15 to 20 million would remain uninsured under BO's plan. Okay, so with the deepening economic crisis hitting America, and more people losing their jobs, "electing" to receive coverage will no longer be an option for the millions who would want it under ordinary circumstances. That's Change alright! Change in the wrong direction.

John McCain can't remember who his pick for VP is. Those senior...or mecacca moments are hard on John. Did you know he was POW? He doesn't like to talk about his POW experiences. If you ask about his POW experience, he will only talk a little about when he was a POW. ABBA, Green Bay Packers and the Steelers kept John going when he was a POW. He can't remember which order to keep them in, but he isn't expected to tell the truth because he was a POW. He forgot how many houses he had because he was POW.

If BHO picks Hillary Clinton, Old Man McCain might as well pack up and go home to Arizona. Any further campaigning by McCain would be a waste of money.
If it's Hello Hillary, it's Goodbye John!

I wonder what Obama's housing plan is to allow Americans to "elect" to remain in their houses. Oh that's right! He wants to apply a fiscal band-aide on the issue by calling for a $50B housing fund to help homeowners. Applying 50B to solve a multi-trillion dollar fiasco is not change folks. That's like the FDIC having an available balance of 54B to insure our money in the middle of a banking collapse. It's preposterous!

o...Guess he, Obama, has a talent for hiding it much better than others as he and his wife made 4 million last year..Alluding to Democrat poverty is a total joke. I would hope the voters are smarter than to believe that their politicians are on an even par financially with their "fan base." Get back to policies because when it comes right down to it, McCain or Obama are not going to pay my bills for me so WHO CARES HOW MUCH MONEY THEY HAVE.....BECAUSE ITS NOT COMING TO ME OR YOU..

Jbatterson, the best way to solve the "mortgage crisis" would cost taxpayers NOTHING: Make variable rate mortgages illegal and require ALL existing loans to revert to the interest rate they carried on the day they were written. Then, add a temporary provision that would say all payments are current to this date. If the borrower KEEPS missing payments, it's HIS fault.
It IS that simple.
Posted by: Rhys | Aug 22, 2008 1:05:19 PM
Oh, I forgot one other provision: Not only make variable rate mortgages illegal, but also "balloon notes".
These requirements would END predatory lending! And they would cost the taxpayers zero.

What is this anyway? Secret jails for those who want to express their right to protest. Does the DNC beleive we are living in Nazi Germany or russia? OBAMA ...A danger to America!!! his terrorist buddies blew up the Capitol!! shady land deals with convicted Felon Rezko..

Dr.Sam...WOW, are you a throw-back from the 60's....Racism is now an equal opportunity "happening"...Please quote facts and not speculation, it makes your candidates base look uninformed...
