ABC News' Jason Ryan reports: Virginia Governor Tim Kaine attended a Navy/Marine ROTC ceremony for his son this afternoon at George Washington University. His son is expected to start a program at the university after Labor Day.

Veepbeat_generic_blog Kaine briefly spoke to reporters as he left the event. Asked about the buzz that surrounds his possible nod for the Democratic vice presidential slot, Kaine said,"It’s all up to the campaign from this point forward."

Asked if he was on Barack Obama's vice presidential short list of candidates Kaine said," I would rather just leave it to the campaign."

"It's very exciting...we are looking forward to Denver," Kaine said. "It's been very nice to be mentioned."

When asked about a hoax e-mail that has gone around noting that Kaine has been selected as the VP nominee he said, "I think there's a lot of viral bizarre text messages going on."

Asked if he has signed up for the text message alerts from the Obama campaign, Kaine said he had not, "I haven't because I don't know how, but my son knows."

He doesn't know how to sign up for the text message, but that all important youth group that will be Obama's only salvation for winning....is plugged in and bored with waiting. We all are. Apparently there is going to be a phone bank at the Convention and all these plugged into their phone types are going to work it like a TV pledge drive to raise campaign $$. Obama is slick.

"I don't know how...but my son does"...funny. Why isn't ABC chassing Chet Edwards like CNN appears to be?

Posted by: Steven | Aug 22, 2008 2:14:48 PM

Jabber by the mindless corporate media whose time vetting John McCain would better serve the American voter. The focus on entertainment matters has become over worn and frankly very boring.

Isn't this a true color of a bonehead His Nothingness?

mccain cant USE THE INTERNET

do you want to criticize him for that?

or do you just want to criticize obama and his people for everything while you let mccain and his people slide on the same things...

The media is making a mockery of themselves. They are the fat chick at at homecoming, waiting for someone to ask them to dance. Yes, Rosie O'Donnell. I honestly think Barack Obama can lose this election because of the backlash of the media obsession, censorship, and propaganda on behalf of Barack Obama.

My dentist told me he canceled his Time Magazine suscription back in the spring because of their treatment of Hillary and their OBamaganda. They keep sending it to him! He throws it away, calls them and tells them to stop delivering, but they refuse. They are literally forcing Americans to think they way they do -- it ain't gonna happen dudes and dudettes!!! You are has been, dinosaurs, yesteryears. The Change Theme is ripe for this election -- to change the media manipulation for liberal candidates.

Obama draws a crowd (domestic and foreign) as ONLY A REAL NATIONAL AND WORLD LEADER could!

McCaint is ENVIOUS because he is not the natural born leader that Obama is.

It is time for the Obama campaign to point out that unmistakable fact of Obama's leadership pull, both at home and abroad!

Envious Fools misrepresent a Natural Born Leader, Obama, as 'celebrity'

Obama given the cover of TIME 8 times and McCain twice. Obama campaigne PAYS GERMAN ROCK BAND REAMONN and reggae star to give a free concert and beer in the park before speaking to 200,000 young Germans WHO DON'T KNOW WHO THE HELL HE IS, but get a free drink/concert.
Oh, make it stop.

Posted by: Debra | Aug 22, 2008 2:40:09 PM

I could draw German crowds too if I have a platinum selling German rock band and other acts give a free concert in the park...a lots of beer everywhere.
WHY DID MEDIA NEVER COVER OBAMA CAMPAIGN ASKED/PAYED REAMONN TO PLAY BEFORE HIS OVER HYPED SPEECH?

NEWS FLASH!

As a staunch Obama supporter and contributor here throughout the primaries and now the general - I have a confession to make...

I fought tooth and nail against Hillary during the primaries and in the general have continued to rail against the idiot PUMAs and of course the McCrazy's.

However, realizing this is a fight against pure evil - The Repuke-licans. And we must win to CHANGE the country for the better. I have to admit that at this point I am almost starting to hope that the VP will be Hillary.

OK, I said it, so go ahead and crucify me!

I would prefer Biden, but I am a realist Democrat and in this situation with the party split, I think (biting my tongue) Hillary would be the best choice right now....

Obama, get a food taster lined up and banish Bill to Africa for the duration.....

My feeling is that is what Obama is going to do in the next couple of days anyway!

So PUMAs, get ready for Koom-Bye-Ya!

Actually it would be nice for all those passionate Hillary bloggers we fought against during the primaries to be on our side - some of you guys are good! Way better than these Repuke-lican redneck McBumbler hate mongers out here now.

Doesn't really matter to me anyway. Because like some famous VP said, the job isn't worth a bucket of warm spit anyway. Also Obama fans, it is a way to neutralize Hillary and the Clintons until 2016. Then Hillary can run (if things are working out well) and take the Dems into 2024....

Obama/Hillary '08! Ouch!!

----

Hey, 0-bama promises US citizens that he will give every person $1000 if you vote for him and elect him. Not only he buys concert-goers, but also he buys votes in America.

Davis,

Too bad, you only choose a "little devil". The "CHANGE" you were hoping for was just a change from Chairman Mao's "Revolution We Can Believe In!"

Look, who is foolin whom.

Who is Chet Edwards? John Edwards died ('chet' in Vietnamese means die) and re-incarnated?

Posted by: angie | Aug 22, 2008 3:25:54 PM

Angie....doesn't matter Obama campaign payed for Reamonn, a major selling German rock band, to lure the 200,000 to see Mr. Nobody...God only knows how much the campaign paid for the beer.

Posted by: Debra | Aug 22, 2008 4:24:44 PM

And McCain was ASKED to speak before the motorcycle crowd.

Posted by: Debra | Aug 22, 2008 4:27:23 PM

It was Vets and bikers who support McCain's fuel proposals and were happy to be there for him....not like curious Germans listening to an unknown Rootless Cosmopolitan.
