Kaine Falls Short of VP, But "Excited" Obama Picked Biden
August 23, 2008 8:45 AM
ABC News' Jennifer Duck Reports: Virginia Gov. Tim Kaine, who was on the shortlist for the Democratic vice presidential nomination, said he is "excited" for Sen. Barack Obama's new running mate, Sen. Joe Biden of Delaware.
Kaine was widely seen as one of Obama's best options to double down on his campaign's "change" theme. Kaine attempted to validate Biden as part of that message in a written statement issued Saturday morning.
"While families across America are looking for results and solutions-oriented leaders, Senator John McCain offers more of the same failed policies of the last eight years,” the statement said.
“The Obama-Biden ticket offers Americans a clear choice and a real opportunity for change.”
Kaine praised Biden as "a tremendous leader and a great complement to Senator Obama and his candidacy."
He also highlighted Biden's foreign policy experience saying, "The Obama-Biden ticket provides the United States with a new and meaningful dialogue with world leaders and will improve America's standing with our allies and the global community."

Why would anyone be upset that it's Biden and not Hillary. He has her beat with foreign policy experience. So why would she be better than him. Erin

Biden got 0 popular votes and 0 delegates. He barely scraped together 1% in the Ioaw caucus then quit. Don't try to claim how great this guy is -we are naive young Obama supporters.

As a Clinton voter I am overjoyed she is not part of that electoral train wreck. I bet they are other candidates who withdrew their name to avoid being part of this lndslide loss.

I get the feeling Hillary supporters are striving to emulate Ron Paul and Bob Barr supporters. Bizarre.
If you think the American people were going to vote Bush, Clinton, Bush, then Clinton again... I'm afraid you're out of touch.
Lawllerskates.

What does Barr and Paul have to do with anything?

So what you're saying is that because Hillary got 18 million votes she should automatically became the VP. Sorry it doesn't work like that.

For those of you who are whining about Hillary not getting the node, why don’t you help her retire the campaign debt? That is a more productive use of your energy. I am an Obama supporter and am going to see how she and Bill conduct themselves at the convention. If they do their job, as they should, I will be pitching in to help with retiring her debt.

Hey Tom "If they [Clintons] do their job, as they should" then Nobama is going to loose. Nobama treated the Clintons like crap so he will get what he deserves. This my friends will be good for the USA.
