Kaine Generates More VP Buzz

ABC News' Jennifer Duck reports from Richmond, VA: The state capitol and governor's mansion in Richmond was far from buzzing with activity today--that is until Virginia Gov. Tim Kaine exited his office and seemed happy to speak with ABC News and another crew waiting outside.
Senator Obama will reportedly announce his vice presidential nominee sometime this week and the announcement could come as early as tomorrow. Topping the speculative list are Sen. Joe Biden, Former Sen. Evan Bayh and Gov. Tim Kaine.
As the VP pick gets closer by the hour, questions were tossed Kaine's way about recent conversations with Sen. Obama and a possible joint event with both the Virginia Governor and the presumptive democratic presidential candidate.
Gov. Kaine dodged when asked if he's spoken with Obama today. "The [Obama] campaign is in control of all of the announcements and I'm not going to talk about my conversations with the campaign," Kaine said.
What's most interesting is the governor's schedule for Wednesday and Thursday. On Wednesday Sen. Obama will be in Virginia with convention keynote speaker Mark Warner and he will appear at separate townhall event with Vietnam veteran Sen. Jim Webb. Gov. Kaine will be on the other side of the state with a slew of community events that have been long in the works according to his office.
It's rumored Kaine and Obama will hold an event on Thursday together but nothing is confirmed or set in stone. Both Kaine and Obama’s spokesmen say the schedule is "in flux."
Kaine has one event scheduled for Thursday making the day pretty open for other opportunities. When asked about his schedule Thursday Kaine said "schedules get written and rewritten all the time" and pointed reporters again to the Obama campaign for further details.
However, when pressed further about his clear schedule Thursday and a possible joint appearance, Kaine said, "You know, we'll see. We'll see."
The Virginia Governor doesn't have the foreign policy experience Former Sen. Evan Bayh and Sen Joe Biden have but he does appeal to the Obama campaign’s idea of "change" and he is far from the
"Washington insider" title that some tag to members serving in Congress for many years. Gov. Kaine was one of the first state officials to endorse Sen. Obama for president and has been stumping for his campaign across Virginia for many months.
Kaine said he is "flattered" to be considered but says he remains focused on this gubernatorial duties for now.
"…it's been flattering to be mentioned. I never have really expected it to happen but look it's very flattering," he said today. "But my main focus is Virginia, both governing but also the fact for the first time in so many years we have a presidential race that’s truly competitive here is just a great thing."

Abraham Lincoln?
However, Dave forgot to mention that one of Lincoln's plans prior to the Civil War was to put all slaves on ships and send them to an island to establish their own country.
Dave also forgot to mention that Abraham Lincoln stated that, prior to secession, he would have accepted slavery in some or all parts of the United States if such action "preseved the union."
Dave also forgot to mention that Abraham Lincoln's military blunders (there were many) as chief executive were salvaged only due to a lucky (and late) choice of Ulysses Grant to head the Union forces.
In short, mentioning the inexperience of Abraham Lincoln requires that his mistakes (there are many more) also be listed.
A realistic view of Abraham Lincolns successes versus his mistakes does not in any way bolster the image and reality of an Obama regime.

Seems like a nice guy, but we need an attack dog with foreign policy creds to help Obama win Big and fight the Republican Smear & Fear campaign. Biden is the only REAL choice IMO.

- never served as a Governor
- never served in the Cabinet
- never served in the Senate
- never served as an ambassador
- never served in his state's Senate
- had one term in the House, which ended in failure to be re-elected, 14 years before he ran for the Presidency.

Sen. Obama will choose Cindy McCain.
Sen. McCain will choose Michelle Obama.
Now that you know THE TRUTH, you can think in reverse, and discover the many ways each other's V.P. would benefit their ticket.

Fact Check...Lincoln was a member of the US House of Representatives. Oops. Does it really matter who either one of them picks? All of the Obama faithful will rally behind his decision, no matter how smart or dumb that decision is. The same with McCain.

I've read a few articles stating that Obama's pick will not be a woman (so Hillary, Sebelius, are out) and will be someone not known nationally to the general population but known to politicos and party insiders (so Biden is out).
People are really hating on Bayh so my guess is Kaine.
Of course all those articles could be VERY wrong.

Picking another Virginian governor, Mark Warner, to deliver the keynote address at the convention almost guarantees that it won't be Tim Kaine. That would make the convention too Virginia-centric.
One thing people are overlooking is that the VP has to be a viable candidate in 2016. None of those on the short list have these credentials.
At this point I think the best choice from the supposed "short list" would be Hillary or Biden.

Is Kaine a Catholic? If so, he has to be anti-abortion and any act of his to the contrary will be against the teachings of the Church and subject him to be denied communion and/or excummunication. If he is not Catholic, no problem.

The only way Obama will be elected is with Hillary as VP. It is a no brainer! He should be way ahead in the polls and is not. He was not on a roll when the primaries were over either. He had lost momentum and Hillary was gaining momentum. He has to choose her.

With his missionary background, fluency in Spanish and embrace of diversity, Gov. Kaine will win over religious, Latino and Asian American voters -- who will play a critical role in from Virginia to Nevada to Pennsylvania. What's more, Kaine will deliver the bellwether Catholic vote -- which voted for Gore in 2000 and Bush in 2004.
Obama can't lose with Kaine.

Truthfully i dont think that obama can win with the best running mate. How is Barack Obama a Presidential name? I don't like him at all MCCAIN ALL THE WAY. DONT PULL OUT OF IRAQ.

If you thought Kaine failed the sniff-test paying-off Paul Goldman to get Doug Wilder's endorsement (don't even think Wilder didn't get SOME of that, too)just wait and see what Wilder personally has filed-away on Kaine! Bet it, he's got SOMETHING! (and it's probably on tape).
There's NO WAY Wilder can keep shut, NO WAY if this happens; he'll be on our TV's at every channel; yep, 'ol Doug will be everywhere with his sly "I know stuff you don't know!" look and it'll be true!
Doug Wilder will either end-up as Ambassador to England (as his payoff to stay quiet ... BUT don't fret!-he'll STILL tell-all later in his BOOK!)... or Wilder's 'gonna make so much noise about WHAT he knows about Kaine it won't be funny. The Governor's job for Kaine? Heck, TK's been in Wilder's pocket since running for Mayor! Wilder does that, he gets SOMETHING on you then holds on like a wild dog; heck, he's like a wild dog!
It's ALL about Doug to Doug ... and it's 'gonna be a ZOO if Obama selects Tim Kaine! Book it!
