No 'October Surprise' from Rev. Wright
August 13, 2008 8:38 AM
ABC News' Teddy Davis and Rigel Anderson Report:
The political world was atwitter this week when New York Magazine suggested that the Rev. Jeremiah Wright was planning to publish a book in October.
John Heilemann wrote in his analysis of the "Color-Coded Campaign" that the book "might well place the topic of Obama's blackness (along with his patriotism and his candor about what he heard in the pews in all those years at Trinity Church) squarely at the center of the national debate."
But there will be no book coming in October because Sen. Barack Obama's, D-Ill., former pastor has not written a new book.
A statement to the news media will be released on Wednesday according to a spokesperson for Trinity United Church of Christ.
The confusion may have come from remarks that Rev. Wright made to the NAACP in April.
Towards the end of his speech, Rev. Wright told the audience, "I'm taking too much of your time. So let me give you the outline of the rest of this message. You can either fill in the blanks for yourselves or you could wait for my book that will be out later this year."

Wright has done what he set out to do.....to upset and injur Obama's campaign and to be a "thorn" in Obama's flesh until November. For that, the American people say "Thank You", Reverend Wright!

Scheunemann gets paid 0ver $200,000 to lobby for Georgia and $70,000 to be McCains top foeregn policy advisor. So who is his most important client. NOT AMERICA!
who is going to ask media darling Mccain the important questions?

I expect the RNC to do attack ads using Reverend Wright but attack ads can be countered.
However, Wright live in person going around doing a book tour in October would have been a big time DISASTER for Obama and probably would have caused him the presidency.
Well Obama dodged a bullet on that one.

Yup, the book will be released in December ... about the same time that America will start finding out who Barack Obama really is.

It is Obama releasing the Book
Maybe Rev Wright is his hero in it.

How much did it cost to keep Wright quiet?
Obama supporters now attacking an American ally and siding with Russia because they place the ONE above the interests of America.

I just LUV it when someone is in trouble ... in this case ... BIG TROUBLE
OBAMA NATION

So Paul is it ok, in your opinion, to sacrifice a country in the spirit of appeasing Russia? Just trying to get a feel of Democratic opinion on foreign policy. Under what circumstance would you, in your personal opinion, justify sending in back-up to any foreign conflict? I am neither an McCain nor Obama supporter...
Posted by: CuriousIndep. | Aug 13, 2008 11:50:47 AM
do we even have troops to send?
we are already fighting two wars!
Posted by: melissa | Aug 13, 2008 11:55:45 AM
melissa..if we did have troops to send, what type of conflict would justify sending them in? Me personally, STAY OUT OF IT UNLESS WE ARE DIRECTLY IN HARMS WAY. WHAT SAY THE DEMOCRATS?
Posted by: CuriousIndep. | Aug 13, 2008 12:09:30 PM
im divided on this
i think that far too often we get involved and the side we choose isnt based on who is in the right or wrong but who has what that WE need.
But i think that great injustice and people dying shouldnt be ignored.

All of you Obama followers -- Please post one item from Obama Nation that is not true.
The fact is -- Obama lied in his "autobiography". He has lied about who he really is and what he really believes in. He will say anything to get elected. He is not a patriot.
I don't hear anyone from the Obama campaign disputing the facts from Obama Nation.
Posted by: susie | Aug 13, 2008 1:07:24 PM
Why is it people will believe anything they read in print. I hear the republicans are treating this book like the gospel.
Posted by: erin | Aug 13, 2008 3:04:27 PM
Erin - I am not treating it like "gospel". I read the book and now am waiting for someone to dispute the facts with more than "It isn't true". What part of it isn't true?
Posted by: Georgie | Aug 13, 2008 3:28:16 PM
I agree, if the book is not true, then why aren't you disputing it Steve? Why isn't the Obama camp disputing it? Why, because it IS true and this book will bring about the downfall of Obama. The book is wonderfully written with every bit of evidenced documented and proven. Do yourself a favor, Steve, buy the book and read for yourself. BTW, I too, am a Hillary supporter and I feel she was robbed of the nomination for Presidency by Obama, Pelosi, and the DNC. If, somehow, I pray happens, that Hillary comes away from the convention as the candidate, she has my vote. If not, I will vote for John McCain. I will NEVER vote for Obama...this from a lifelong democrat.

"Any true Democrat that really hates the fact that Hillary lost and and is so blinded by anger SHE can not cast HER vote for Obama will stay at home on election day.
----
WHERE does it say that because we are furious over the way Obama energed the presumptuous nominee..... we are stupid enough to stay home on election day... and let him win by default?
It's not going to happen!

I think it is fair to say the Obama exhuberance has become worn out now that the perfection of vapid nothingness of Oneness has transformed into the homely reality of truth. One clear revelation to emerge from the rubble: America was in the majority truly ready to greet a Commander in Chief from a minority group. The truth about Obama's background has started to take a toll on his polling. The trend doesn't look promising at the moment. Americans are clearly people of great soul with real idealism. But also with a sharp eye for truth and phoniness. I The rhetoric was irrestible at first, at least until too much simply didn't add up about Obama's past and what he stands for.

I agree with DemocratNoMore2....I am a Hillary supporter who will vote for McCain (hell, I'm going to volunteer for a couple of months in my local office). I would love HRC to be on the ballot, but writing her name in allows Obama to inch closer. NEVER.
I am sure the pressure was great on Wright to postpone his autobio, and since there is so much being published on Obama that should be MANDATORY reading for anyone considering voting for him. Thank God they are #1 on Bestsellers list and people are buying them up to learn about the mysterious, untouchable candidate.
Why can't someone stalk Wright outside his multi million dollar manse and get a comment? Is he tied up and gagged? It's amazing how many prominent African Americans have gone silent and underground.

Georgia invades a breakaway province with legal ties to Russia. Russia responds with force.
What do you expect?
It's just real convenient how this is being played out in the press. I am not a fan of Russia, but did anyone expect Russia to stay on the sidelines, especially with the history between Georgia and the former Soviet Republic.
They knew we were over stretched and suffering severe financial stress, why would they invade Oestia. Who told them that we would support them in this effort? Had to be the Neo-Cons. They had to know that Russia would crush them like a grape and was itching for a fight.
These darn Neo-cons trying to spread Democracy around the world. Whose going to pay that bill?
We are going to go the way of the Soviet Union, if we don't get these Neo-Cons under control.
Now we have to fight to defend our honor. Now we have to protect our pride and defend this new democracy. With what money? With whose lives?
