Obama Gives VP Hints
August 21, 2008 3:59 PM
USA Today's 'On Politics' blog reports: Barack Obama told USA TODAY this afternoon that "yes," he has made up his mind about whom his running mate will be -- but he would not reveal the name or just when he will tell the nation about his choice. USA TODAY's Kathy Kiely writes that:
In an interview in Chester, Va., the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee said he's made up his mind, but he would not say whether he's informed that person yet. "I won't comment on anything else until I introduce our running mate to the world," he said. "That's all you're going to get out of me."
Obama said it was a difficult decision. "We had some great choices."
Obama said he wanted somebody who is "prepared to be president" and who will be "a partner with me in strengthening this economy for the middle class and working families."
He said he was looking for not just a partner but a sparring partner. "I want somebody who's independent, somebody who can push against my preconceived notions and challenge me so we have got a robust debate in the White House."
Here's a very brief audio clip of the exchange Kathy had with Obama about whether he's made up his mind.
The full story will be available later today.

OBAMA ACTS LIKE HE IS IN HIGH SCHOOL.

GROW UP OBAMA!

If it is someone who is ready to be President, then the only person it could be is Hillary Clinton. This may be his only choice if he wants to win the presidency. According to the recent polls its not looking good for Obama and Hillary is the only person that can change that.
Obama/Hillary

Didn't Jeremiah Wright say that he was going to be Obama's running mate? I'm pretty sure he did at the National Press Club in Washington last spring.

this veep guessing is creating a buzz, and has the entire nation paying attention to relatively mundane news and process.
nice work Obama's campaign folks. this is like reality show with drama instances. it could be that he is picking lesser know person and this buzz has given it a publicity.
there is nothing more to it.
Kaine I think

The salient point is the "sparring partner" phrase.
Let's recall, "Who has Obama been 'sparring' with over the last year?"
The choice will be Hillary Clinton.

Obama can step down as VP and it will be grate if he make Clinton as president.

HEY JOJO!
AT LEAST MCCAIN HAD DONE A SERVICE FOR HIS COUNTRY! WHAT HAS OBAMA DONE BESIDES GOING TO OTHER COUNTRIES AND TALKING ABOUT ALL THE BAD THINGS AMERICAN HAS DONE INSTEAD OF ALL THE GOOD AND BAD THAT AMERICA HAS DONE. MCCAIN DOESN'T HANG AROUND WITH AMERICA HATING PEOPLE - AND THAT WIFE OF HIS. - SHE ALWAYS LOOKS ANGRY! IF I HAD THAT MUG I GUESS I WOULD BE ANGRY TOO.

Those comments tend to sound like Hillary.

I am not going to vote for him because he is anti-Pakistan.

If it's not Hillary, McCain will win.

I just got the text from the Obama Camp!!! Did anyone else get it? I’m so excited I can hardly wait for the real announcement. Did anyone else get the news?
This is what I got:
Dear Loyal Democrat followers of my incredible and ridiculous raise to political fame. I have fooled you all for too long. I can’t believe you have been led around like fools for the last year or so. I’m still in diapers, the most junior Senator in the US Senate, I have no experience what-so-ever and I have fooled you all. Great- what a joke I am! Now that I have gotten this off my scrawny a$$ chest, had my idiot wife disgrace this country by saying she was never proud of it, I want you all to know I’m a damn fool; she’s a damn fool and although I have been chosen to led this pathetic political party, I wont do it alone. I have chosen a candidate that is even worse than I am at leading. You know Him (Cough, Cough – Hmm Her) as Billary. Billary everyone! My VP choice!

When is McCain going to stop the POW kick. That old horse has been ridden to a standstill. Its time to put it out to pasture - with McCain in the saddle!
