ABC News' Matthew Jaffe Reports: Sen. Claire McCaskill, D-Mo., said Sunday that Sen. Barack Obama, D-Ill., will choose his vice-presidential running mate soon, but reiterated that it won't be her.

"I think that all the speculation is going to come to an end soon because at least we're going to get choices before too long," McCaskill said on CNN's "Late Edition".

The Missouri Democrat said she talked to Obama about the process this week, but she still doesn't know how soon he will make the pick.

"I don't honestly know," she said. "I talked to Barack about it this week and you know what he did? He just smiled."

McCaskill appeared with Obama on Wednesday at campaign stops in the Show-Me State.

She repeated Sunday that the Obama camp has not asked her to hand over personal documents as part of a vetting process for possible vice-presidential candidates.

"They have not," responded McCaskill when CNN's Wolf Blitzer questioned her on Obama requesting personal information. "I'm always honored to be mentioned," she added.

I think it was at http://www.tboonpickens.com As far as McCain goes with all of his antics this week., I am sick. I really hope the McCain camp cleans up there act. This week has made me want to stay home in november.Has any one seen this video of McCain cussing. Wow what a potty mouth. http://www.mccanes.com

It's interesting that I think the process has come full circle. At this point, Obama needs Hillary on the ticket. He has to pull together the entire Dem base to win this. He can do this and shore up his weaknesses only by picking Hillary. With the race tightening up and Obama running behind the generic Democratic brand, Obama now very much needs Hillary. PLus at this point it would have an element of surprise to it.

I wonder where Clinton, Gore and Biden are going to be on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Obama is too arrogant to pick Hillary but he will pay the price. The Democrats have once again demonstrated to the nation that they are stupid, unprepared and divided. They cannot win the WH because they lack the sophistication, strength and tactical strategy of the Republicans. I will tell you this: If anyone chooses someone like Howard Dean who screwed his own Presidential bid in Iowa 2004 famous scream (They chose him because they though he was good at fund raising) if they chose him to lead the party, what does that say about the Democrats? That they would rather have a leader who can raise funds but assure the party that the WH will once again be lost to the Republican attack machine? Yes money is important but so is the right candidate and the country (Democrats) have said that they want Barack and Hillary (Actually the two got a 50/50 split in the primaries, Barack's win is so slim, it does not give him a mandate to lead the Democratic party - alone) He needs Hillary, but he won't pick her because he is proud and arrogant. There goes the WH in November to Mac's gang. Go Mac, I will never vote for you, but I sure admire your calculations and the underdog status that always seems to work for you. You survived Vietnam; you sure can survive this bid. In Vietnam, you were dealing with torture, here you are dealing with idiots - the Democrats, my party which seems to have lost it's path by trying so hard to make history without a well thought out plan!

Vote for the same crooks and party that has run this country to the groubd durinfg the past 8 years.More wars deficits, lies, lies and more lies and a $10/gallon gas price. I thought regular unleaded was less than $2/gallon 8 yeasr ago? Vote MaCain and the Republican or vote for change.

So, the big news here is that a senator claims she does not know when a VP will be picked Obama didn't answer when she asked him.

Who cares who FRAUD obama picks as his VP - he will NEVER be elected. Obama is an Arrogant, Radical FRAUD - he is NOT qualified to lead our country.
McCain is a good 2nd Choice - and Millions of Americans feel the same way.

I think McCain would pick Bush as his VP if he could.

Posted by: JimmyTMac | Aug 3, 2008 3:22:18 PM

Obama could pick a rocking chair to be his running mate and it would still be a better ticket than McCain and whomever he picks.

I still want Hillary for the Democratic party presidential nominee. Maybe McCain will win in November and Hillary can run again in 2012.

Hey Ugov,

The price of gas was actually still quite reasonable until the Dems took over the Congress two years ago. I'd challenge you to match the price of gas when Bush took over until Pelosi and Reid came to power and that price until this year and see how much of a percentage increase is greater. Who's provided less leadership? Certainly the Democratic run congress, both Houses!

Whoever he picks, I wish it should not be Hillary Clinton because he can't win anyway. Hillary, please stay away and come back in 2012.

Posted by: stock_craft | Aug 3, 2008 3:46:44 PM

I just checked the price was about $1.90 when Bush took over and it dipped to about $1.50 about 2003. It raised back up to about $2.40 when the Dems took over and then shot up to $4.14 as of 7-7-2008. So from the highest prices with Bush and a Republican Congress, it increased about $.50. When your favorite Dems took over it's skyrocketed by $1.64. Three times the increase. Who's been better for the price of gas? Certainly not the Dems! Vote McCain 2008!

That McCaskill sorry face do-nothing ex-druggy politician. She's not fit to even shine Hillary's shoes.

She can't contain the hots she has for Obama. Dirty old broad.

I care less about Obama's VP choice.
I voted for Hillary on primaries and
i will NOT vote for Obama in november
regerdless if Hillary is the VP.
What it matters to the american people
is the top of the ticket, and Obama is
unfit for commander in chief......

If you believe Obama is "more" unfit than McCain, then there lies your answer. But, I truly doubt your sincerity from the onset. You are free to come on out of the closet now...the republican party awaits you.

Danny - C'mon man. It's over. She ran a lousy campaign, severely underestimated her opponent and failed. It was disappointing to me too. But a McCain victory isn't good for her and it isn't good for me or you. It's time for this bitterness and hostility to end.

Posted by: JimmyTMac | Aug 3, 2008 3:50:23 PM

ROBERT-
You and the rest of the Hillary supporters need to grow the f*** up! She lost, get over it and move on. As far as not voting for Obama...I don't friggin' believe that when the stakes are this high, you people will just take your vote and p*** it away. And people WONDER why I don't like Hillary Clinton of some of her staunch supporters....un-effin-believeable...

Dave - That's about as a sohpmoric analysis as I've ever heard. That dribble you just typed isn't worth the charmin extra soft you wipe your behind with.
