Obama Supporter: VP Pick Coming Soon
August 03, 2008 1:04 PM
ABC News' Matthew Jaffe Reports: Sen. Claire McCaskill, D-Mo., said Sunday that Sen. Barack Obama, D-Ill., will choose his vice-presidential running mate soon, but reiterated that it won't be her.
"I think that all the speculation is going to come to an end soon because at least we're going to get choices before too long," McCaskill said on CNN's "Late Edition".
The Missouri Democrat said she talked to Obama about the process this week, but she still doesn't know how soon he will make the pick.
"I don't honestly know," she said. "I talked to Barack about it this week and you know what he did? He just smiled."
McCaskill appeared with Obama on Wednesday at campaign stops in the Show-Me State.
She repeated Sunday that the Obama camp has not asked her to hand over personal documents as part of a vetting process for possible vice-presidential candidates.
"They have not," responded McCaskill when CNN's Wolf Blitzer questioned her on Obama requesting personal information. "I'm always honored to be mentioned," she added.

did anyone catch mrs pelosi this morning? again babbling about dipping into the EMERGENCY oil supply??!! does she think americans are THAT stupid??!! what the hell kind of a solution is that?? its not even worth my time of explaining it because it is just common sense!!! any replies from you dems about this brilliant "solution"?!
Posted by: tim | Aug 3, 2008 4:02:54 PM
aside from just pulling out of iraq unconditionally, i support him too sylvia.
Posted by: tim | Aug 3, 2008 4:03:43 PM
After all these changes that he has made can you tell me which Obama did you vote for???
Here are the following principles that Obama has abandoned
+ FISA bill; was against, now for
+ Death penalty for child rape; was against, now for
+ NAFTA; was for, now against
+ D.C. Gun Ban; was for, now against
+ Public financing; was for, now against as long as it applies to him
+ Cuba embargo; was against, now for
+ Jerusalem undivided, was for, now against
+ Decriminalization of marihuana; was for, now against
+ D.C School voucher program; was against, now for
+ Meeting with Iran without conditions; was for, now against
+ Wearing flag pin; was against, now for
+ Kyoto agreement; was against, now for
+ Doing cocaine: was for, now against
+ Reducing troops in Iraq in 16 months; was for, now against "for 2 hours" on 7/3, now for again, on 7/3. Waiting for latest press release. This will change
+ Supporting the surge in Iraq; was against it, now on 7/15 for it and removed all traces of being against it from his web site
+ Delegates from Michigan and Florida; was against seating a full delegation now on 8/3 for it
+ Liquified coal; was for, now against
+ Drilling for oil; was against, still against. If four dollar gas doesn't make him change his mind then what will, ten dollar gas??? Surprise surprise, on 8/1 he now supports off shore drilling. Why did he change his mind, the polls I guess.
I don't know about you but why isn't the news media asking why Obama is changing his core belief's to get elected. If I were a Democrat, I would ask myself why is my candidate becoming more like McCain??? Is Obama getting elected more important than his principles??? I guess so. Another Republicrat in office
Obama is just like all the other politicians when it comes to his "principles", he is a B.L.O.B.
Barack
loves
only
Barack
The true change that Obama wants, I guess, is in his mind......
If you are a liberal and can't vote for McCain then vote for Nader and send the Democratic Party a message.

come on you democrats.. i know you're still there??!! please tell me about your "leaders" ridiculous comments about taking oil out of the emergency reserves as an "immediate" gas price solution?!! come on, you can do it... someone has to be dumb enough to try this one

Obama flip flops again on off shore drilling. He stuck his nose out late to see where the wind was blowing and realizes that the American people support off shore drilling. He opposed it before and now supports it. How can we trust someone that changes his stand on policies every time? He is dangerously inexperienced and cannot be trusted to make important decisions for the country. JUST SAY NO TO OBAMA!

Tim - Wait a second now. We're sitting on quite of bit of oil down in the gulf. We don't even have to drill for it. It won't take 10 years to get it or for it to affect oil prices. If were to release just a tiny insignificant portion of our reserve oil, a lot of smart people are saying that it could have an immediate impact on the price we're paying at the pump. I know it's for emergencies but would we really miss 10% of 700 million barrels of oil? We could always replace it later. So let's not pan the idea as if it has no merits.

Jimmy and Henderson, you two are the only bitter people and the ones that need to grow up. No need for the attacks and the nasty language, people are free to vote for whoever they want. You can't forced a candidate wearing an empty suit of fake promises to people. But most important you can't shove down our throats a flip flopping candidate that is so full of himself that is walking around like he's the president of the USA. That is just plain disrespectful to the candidates and the sitting president, whether we like Bush or not Obama needs to act like a candidate and not a present president.
Posted by: ArrogantObama | Aug 3, 2008 4:16:56 PM
ArrogantObama - Whoa Whoa Whoa. Have you forgotten that it was McCain who flip-flopped on oil drilling first? The same way he did on Immigration, Bush's tax-cuts, the war in Iraq, Roe vs Wade, social security, torture and on and on and on. So my question to you is How can we trust someone that changes his stand on policies every time?
Posted by: JimmyTMac | Aug 3, 2008 4:17:12 PM
The Dems will sweep the congressional elections from coast to coast. If Obama keeps this up and I believe he will, McCain will keep it close. The only way Obama can win is by choosing Hillary as VP. He has simply not shown enough strength on his own over the last two months to look elsewhere.

jimmyt..
ahh i was beginning to think i was going to get nothing there for a second.. ok, first off you say " if we were to release an insignificant portion of our oil reserve"... what does that mean?! if we had a national emergenycy tommorrow, would that be "insignificant" oil? then, what exactly is an insignifigant amount?! 5 barrels? 1000 barrels? a million barrels? ITS THERE FOR EMERGENCIES!!!!!!!!! do you know how much oil this country goes through in one day? 20 million barrels. so, how much would that "insignificant" amount help?! are we going to "steal" 100 million barrels? equivalent to 5 days worth?! how would that EVER help gas prices? its like "borrowing" money out of social security. its there for a reason, leave it alone. that isnt even worth a band aid analogy, because it wount do anything. all it is, is pelosi acting like they are trying when they have no intentions on doing a damn thing until the election is over. i would be offended as a democrat right now to have her out there blaming the president for not "giving the american people their oil". what a joke.

I am not saying McCain is the best option either but neither is Obama. Most of my posting i don't tell people to vote for McCain so i don't know where you read that i was for McCain. There are other options and other candidates, and if one has to choose from these two then choose the one that is the least evil of the two. But i am sick and tired of liberal democrats attacking anything that doesn't look like Obama. He is damaged goods also so get down from your horse.

arrogantobama...
oh believe me, i deal with on a daily basis. im not a mccain supporter, but people just assume that you speak out against obama that you're a right wing, mccain supporting, idiot. they dont stop to listen that its a lesser of two evils debate, and id rather spend my time trying to persuade people that obama is NOT the choice rather than mccain BEING the choice.

Obama Supporter: VP Pick Coming Soon
How do they know? When she ask Obama, he just smiled. Let's see convention starts Aug 25th. So I guess it will be soon. This must be a Joke article.

Tim - I believe the consensus is that more oil supply = lower prices. That's why we're entertaining the idea of more drilling. That's why Bush went to Saudi Arabia earlier this year to meet with the king right? To beg for more oil supply. So doesn't it make sense that if we release more oil that we already have and aren't using, it would have an effect on pricing? So based on rational logic, you can't dismiss the notion of releasing oil from our reserve. That's all I'm trying to say. It is a perfect solution? No. But neither is drilling for more oil simply because of the fact that we don't even know for sure how much is out there. At least we know for certain how much we have in the reserves.

you guys havent figured out that abc and all other media outlets are just over dramatizing this?! this article, yet again, has no importance.
