Obamagirl Has Obama in Range in Denver

Share

August 27, 2008 11:38 PM

ABC News' Nitya Venkataraman reports: On the ground in Denver, "Obamagirl" is keeping her fingers crossed that one day soon she'll cross paths with the Illinois senator on whom she famously crushed.

"I haven't really been plotting it," Internet sensation Amber Lee Ettinger says of any future meeting.

"I know 100 percent how busy he is and I don't expect to meet him this week or anytime soon."

And she's got respect for the missus. "I would love one day to meet him and Michelle, so I'll keep my fingers crossed," she says.

Fresh off a new video where Obamagirl travels back in time to advise a young "Barry" Obama on what life has in store for him, on assignment in Denver for Buzzwire's "DNC 2008" mobile channel, Ettinger stopped in at the new media Big Tent to visit with the bloggers who helped launch her to stardom last year as the lovestruck Obamagirl, pining away for the Democratic presidential nominee in her YouTube video, "I've Got a Crush on Obama."

Ettinger, who famously sang in her third video to Sen. Hillary Clinton, D-N.Y., "I know Obama's gonna win it/but you're sorta kind of stayin' in it," offered praise to the New York senator tonight but stopped short of calling her a fellow Obamagirl.

Ettinger watched Clinton's Tuesday night speech at the Democratic Convention in "bits and pieces."

"She's great," Ettinger said of her crush's primary season rival. "I have total respect for her. It's always exciting to hear her talk."

After the conventions wind down, Ettinger is also headed into her own homestretch. Between the party circuit, television appearances, and the stream of fans approaching her for photographs and autographs, Ettinger has future Obamagirl videos to stand by her man, straight until the general election.

Thanks, David from Texas. You are on target.

Young girls like the Obama Girl just show how childish and inmature they are. One young girl stated on a blog she would vote for Obama just because he has a sexy butt. And these people are the country's voters. WOW. SAD. Maybe an IQ test should be given before issuing a voter's card.

Posted by: Mary | Aug 27, 2008 11:59:01 PM

Mary - I'd love for an IQ test to be administered, as polling continually shows that those with higher education vote Democrat.

Thank-you Obama Girl (for nothin'), your services are no longer wanted. I suggest everyone just stop paying attention to her. (I know it's hard; she's pretty freakin' cute, but she doesn't help our candidate one bit...)

Davis, Davis, what's wrong with you? Where is the love? And the Hope? And the Change? If this is what you are like when you win, do they have to rubber room you when you lose?

obama girl would be a great improvement from michelle who appears angry, and hostile. especially last night as hillary was speaking. she looked a bit better tonight and even shed a tear for joe biden. why was it that when hillary chocked up she was beat over the head with it. yet biden and michelle cry and it is moving and emotional? i would wager that michelle is bi-polar...

Posted by: sonia trevino | Aug 28, 2008 12:44:09 AM

hats off to obama girl. she launched a career on the coattails of obama's campaign. why not, more power to her. why knock innovation, and creativity.
although i am no obama supporter i enjoy success stories regardless of who they are. when did being rich, famous, successful, and creative become a deficit?

Posted by: sonia trevino | Aug 28, 2008 1:03:58 AM

I noticed the scowl on Michelle's face once again tonight. What's with that? What the hell did Michelle have on tonight????

Joe Biden's wife is a classy woman. Maybe Michelle should take some classes from her
both in how to present herself and how to dress!

Smart people vote for Republicans. That's not even debatable.

Posted by: Jo | Aug 28, 2008 1:43:34 AM

Sonia,
I noticed she was sitting with the other wicked witch of the west Teresa Heinz Kerry. Wonder if they flew in on their brooms...lol

Posted by: J | Aug 28, 2008 1:43:48 AM

Maybe this girl can dress in a toga tomorrow night and get Obama's attention.

LOLOL.

Posted by: Jo | Aug 28, 2008 1:44:02 AM

Well,
As much as I hate to say this I may vote for Obama in November. For me who is a die hard Hilary supporter is a major feat.

What Hillary said last night about were we in it for her or for the 3 people she mentioned. It made me stop and think for a bit about the future of this country. McCain is another Bush and we don't need that.

The only thing I think Obama has accomplished is a big oak - tree, oh and look at those knockers from the Bama girl man.....Damn these are the lefts' agendas how wonder they are for abortion all the way. Oh and who ever talks about IQs? IQs does not prove common sense.

very funny, yep i bet they flew in on their brooms. what a team, maybe she can give michelle a few tips-from one witch to another.

One good thing Jill Biden offsets Michelle. That's a plus. Michelle looks perpetually annoyed.

Did anyone notice how Obama kissed Mrs. Biden smack right on the lips? He is so arrogant. Why isn't that all over the damn news??? I am a PUMA voting for McCain. Never Obama.

Posted by: Fae | Aug 28, 2008 7:13:24 AM

Mary, as foolish as it sounds, my mother was voting for Hillary just because she is a woman . . . . . .
As the say in the used car business, " there's an a** for every seat."

terrible news for Obama this morning. The GNP grew at a huge rate. There is no recession.

My community and I are very disappointed in any endorsement for Obama.
The press has destroyed the Clintons and now I feel like the superdelegates are listening.

The only station that finally was able to display Obama's qualities and issues was ABC’s debate when Obama was finally being vetted.

Obama is very radical, has a pastor full of hatred for America. This was his mentor. Reverend Wright, Obama's mentor of twenty years has embarrassed our first lady and white America.

Obama has ties wth Tony Rezko of Chicago and William Ayers, a terrorist.

Obama has an elitist attitude towards most of America. He has a cocky attitude from his own dislike for his grudges against American politics:
an anger problems.
Show me your friends and I will show you who you are:
Tony Rezko, a criminal from Chicago that Obama has know for years.
William Ayers, a terrorist that he worked on a board with in Chicago.
Pastor Wright, a supporter of anti-Semetic, Louis Farrakhan.
Al Sharpton, fighting for the states of Florida not to seat delegates.
Michelle Obama not being proud of her country until now.

This man will never survive against a war hero, John McCain.

I am saddened that the children and the media are controlling this electiion.

Obama girl was a disgrace for all of Americans.
The world is laughing at our procedures in hiring our President.
To place her backside in a presidential ad is a complete disgrace.

Wake up, the world is watching.

Dem in Chicago: "Thank-you Obama Girl (for nothin'), your services are no longer wanted. I suggest everyone just stop paying attention to her. (I know it's hard; she's pretty freakin' cute, but she doesn't help our candidate one bit...)"

Well, come on. She doesn't hurt, either.

Sure, McCain will say something... but that's what McCain does. He obsesses over Obama and criticizes anything. If Obama puts on the left shoe first, he should have put on the right. And I think most independents recognize that.

So that said, I wouldn't mind seeing more of Obama girl (double entendre intended ;)

Michelle is jelous of Obama girl.
Michelle is jelous of the Clintons.
Now because of her jelousy the Democrats will lose this election.

Yes Obama supporters continue to attack America. Doom and gloom is all we hear out of Denver. Sorry we are not in an economic depression like you all hope.

Obama's thugs had an ABC producer arrested for filming on public property. guess they should of paid attention when Beau Biden had Larry falsely arrested too.

Posted by: geevill | Aug 28, 2008 9:04:42 AM

Democratnomore - are you saying Obama was actually raised by the head of the communist party? That was hard to follow, but nevermind... don't want to hear it.

Now, when you start talking about how Obama was photographed on the grassy knoll, and all copies of those photos are buried at the bottom of the top secret stuff the Warren Commission doesn't want us to see... I'm with ya.

Posted by: Paul | Aug 28, 2008 9:06:07 AM

Michelle has convinced her husband not to select Hillary or endorse the Obama girl because she is jelous.

With Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama could've made history - but chose not to do so.

He hogged history. So her speech will likely produce no gain for him, but lay the basis for a lasting resentment at his failure to select her.

Obama is tied with McCain because he can't win the votes of women, especially older women.

Hillary's speech the other night made Obama's chance of winning a lot harder.

Posted by: Al from NJ | Aug 28, 2008 9:07:20 AM

geevil: "Doom and gloom is all we hear out of Denver."

Hmmm. I guess only a Republican could hear the word "hope" and start thinking of doom and gloom connotations.

Kind of makes me wonder what you guys think about when you hear the word "puppy." I'm guessing... oh I don't know, bomb Tehran?

Posted by: Paul | Aug 28, 2008 9:11:49 AM

Geevil: "guess they should of paid attention when Beau Biden had Larry falsely arrested too."

That reminds me, I was pretty impressed with Beau Biden last night. I'm guessing we're going to see more of him in the future.

Posted by: Paul | Aug 28, 2008 9:15:22 AM

Me, not thinking it through the first time: "Kind of makes me wonder what you guys think about when you hear the word 'puppy.' I'm guessing... oh I don't know, bomb Tehran?"

That wasn't fair. Republicans first are businessmen and only second do they long for columns of armor advancing in the sunlight. War isn't a passion as much as a hobby.

So when a Republican looks at a cute lil' puppy, I'm sure his first thoughts are, "you know, in a few million years, that dog might just be oil."

The Clintons have indeed Redeemed themselves and have united the Democratic party. However, Media wants you to think that Dems Convention was a bust (no red meat - vegatables are so much more healthier to the system, however) But, what the Dems did accomplish and which is stronger than all the red meat/anger in the world is UNITY/Love, because a house divided cannot stand! Watch out and be on Guard for those who want to Divide because make no mistake about it a united group is Powerful, Strong, Unstoppable. Now they want to belittle and divide us by unmeaningful talks of pillars and temple. They are like rude children who make fun of people's clothes or the way they look. People of Change, People of the future, be on guard!

For accurate news analysis “watch C-SPAN for convention coverage and get yourself psychically cleared. Stop watching cable news channels. The MSM is desperately working to program us morning noon and night. And creating despair amongst those who are openly hopeful about 2008 politics is very easy. Just bust the bubble that gives you room to believe that change can happen and the rest falls away. Including your own sense of self-empowerment. Believe it.”

The Clintons set up Hillary for 2012. Now they will leave and let Obama and Uncle Joe lose big time.

Posted by: geevill | Aug 28, 2008 9:48:52 AM

Fox News is reporting that Bill Clinton is telling people off-record in Denver that Obama is a "Chicago thug." Hannity betting Clintons will do all they can behind the scenes to make sure Obama loses, already planning Hillary's run in 2012. Biden and Obama can't stand each other, Obama was forced to take Biden to shore up natl affairs experience. Jamie Allman, 97.1 in St. Louis, reporting that tension on floor reached fever pitch yesterday. Some Hillary supporters threatening to walk off floor, Obama supporters pleading with them to stay. Jimmy Carter's nerves frazzled, screamed at Rosalyn in the elevator. Harry Reid turning his back on Fox Reporters, won't answer questions about surge in Iraq, claims Dems are a united Party. Some Hillary supporters laughing at the temple, referring to Obama as a Greek God. Obama supporters grumbling about "racist" Hillary supporters. Yep, this is a real united Party.

Posted by: Loving American Politics | Aug 28, 2008 10:22:15 AM

Wow, Loving American Politics, and yet they managed to look completely different for the cameras. Not sure I'm buying all that.

By the way, the Greek god thing... y'all do know this is an almost exact replica of the backdrop used at the Republican convention four years ago, right?

Posted by: Paul | Aug 28, 2008 10:31:40 AM

Although I do have to admit the Greek columns aren't the way I would have gone in a stadium. I'm not sure I would have done any backdrop at all. Just keep the cameras low, and allow the stands to be the blurry backdrop from any angle.

Posted by: Paul | Aug 28, 2008 10:34:27 AM

The Old Illinois Statehouse built well before the Civil War where Obama and Biden came together also has Greek Columns as a quick look at the pictures from Saturday's event will show. This is another Republican smoke screen to divert people from the real issues.

Obama's thugs are trying to silence Stanley Kurtz on WGN.

Posted by: geevill | Aug 28, 2008 10:47:58 AM

Geevill: "Obama's thugs are trying to silence Stanley Kurtz on WGN."

Kind of like when McCain tried to fight Strom Thurmond for interrupting him. The thing is, Thurmond was 95-years-old at the time.

You're candidate actually had to be physically pulled away from a 95-year-old. Let that sink in for a moment.

Do Democrats need to question McCain's judgment. You bet, especially when McCain is seething mad. And reportedly it doesn't take much to make him mad.

Again, all this 95-year-old did was interrupt McCain's floor speech with a question. Was Thurmond right to interrupt? No. Did it warrant McCain catching him in a Capitol hallway, yelling at him, and then physically scuffling with him.

Not only know, but its a little scary you guys want someone like this in an executive position.

No. very much like the Chinese jailing people to prevent them for demonstrating. not to mention the ABC producer who got arrested for exposing the DNC's cozy relationship with lobbyists in Denver.

Posted by: geevill | Aug 28, 2008 11:26:01 AM

Geevill, I don't think Obama runs the Denver Police Department. And about the recession: Gas has gone way up. Many of my utilities have passed on those increases as well. And the grocery store ... every single item has gone up. A lot. The government cooks up those figures however it suits them. They also fudge on the unemployment rate. There are many ways to manipulate those numbers! Wake up and smell the coffee, geevill, because the price of it will go up again tomorrow!

Posted by: obamamama | Aug 28, 2008 11:37:02 AM

Posted by: Paul | Aug 28, 2008 11:38:13 AM

You know, I just had a thought... given McCain's hair-trigger temper and his demonstrated willingness to direct that at his wife...

Is anyone thinking...

Didn't that handshake story sound a little contrived...

Nah, couldn't be.

Please, give me a break. Obama's did not touch Jill's lips. His lips touched just on the side of her face near her chin. Her lips touched his face on the side slightly below the side of his nose. She should be so lucky if he had kissed her smacked on the lips as Democratnomore2 says.

I do hope an IQ test would be in place someday. So many naive girls out there voting for Obama because of his butt, uh, or something else similar. Sad, indeed!

Posted by: tiger | Aug 28, 2008 3:35:21 PM

Oh, adding one thing here. This Obamagirl herself is already so naive and immature, the fact she even got her fans because of her childish move makes the whole thing even more laughable. If she is naive, those of her fans are triple naive than her, period!!!!

Be it George Bush or McCain or Obama, the position of the president of the United States is very over-rated. More important are the senate members and the congressmen who actually make laws! Then come the judiciary who effectively implement the letter of the law. The US president earns about 400000$ per year. Is that necessary for somebody who is just the leading representative of the executive? Please think people!

For all of you who tout Republicans as the war mongers, please check your facts. Democratic presidents are responsible for 99.4% of all American war deaths since WWI. In Vietnam alone over 58,000 were killed. The Iraq war could be fought until the end of time at its death rate and never equal Vietnam. Secondly, only a fool thinks the war is responsible for our economic conditions. They have been mounting for over 30 years. Unions of of control, high taxes, and over regulation by our government are the major areas we caused in our economic conditions. Add the high price of oil and emerging economies willing to work for less and produce goods for less and you have the real reason for our economic conditions. I don't expect Democrats to admit this because they put getting elected ahead of addressing why we are in such bad shape. The government no more than you or me can continue to spend more than it brings in without dire consequences. All wars since WWII were unnecessary and costly, but welfare, aid to other countries and spending on unnecessary programs are far more costly. Stick to facts and you never stray from the truth.

For those of you who don't know your history and like to blame GWB and all the other Republician presidents for all the bad things in our country...the congress and senate hold more power than the president does. The president is a figure head. Without the congress and the senates approval, the president can't do anything. So next time you get mad at how the country is being run, look at your local congressman or senator.

Posted by: Sabryna | Sep 4, 2008 10:09:56 AM

Sabryna--I think the liberals are ignorant of how the govt works. Obama is banking on this because he has no substance, he is relying on the ignorance of his supporters to get him in. The problem is he is underestimating the intelligence of the American people as a whole.
The sheep don't get that our economy went into the toilet as soon as Pelosi, Reid and the rest of the DNC-Do nothing Congress took over.

Posted by: S Adams | Sep 4, 2008 4:14:30 PM

To Dan: Higher Education does not = intelligence. I Went back to school recently and I found that higher education is not education, but merely training. Seeing these college students express why they like Obama and all I hear is an array of 'you knows', 'well he's just..I don't know...cool..." PLLLEEAASE. Education in America is indoctrination by leftist idealists.

And to the professor judging Mary's English Grammar- perfect example of the level of American education. You cannot deal with the argument so you introduce an Ad hominem argument and walk away congratulating yourself at your wit and superiority. Well you lost, you did not deal with the argument which would suggest that you cannot, probably because you are an idiot living in your parents basement.

I am petitioning the FCC to require any bloggers to enter their real name. The fact that types like you don't use your real name will reveal that you might be working at 7/11 as well as proving the fact the you are low-down scum-sucking cowards. Amen.

Obama is for a socialist country. Even his wife, Michele has spoke on "sharing the pie". If you have a big pie you should share it (or be made to) with those with a lesser pie. I worked hard for my pie and I do not want to give it to someone who sits on their butt, has loads of kids and waits for a check in the box every month! Futhermore "The Obama's" gave 1% of their 1.2 million income to charity. So they sure don't share their pie!
