Paris Hilton Responds to McCain Celeb Commercial

ABC News' Tahman Bradley Reports: Paris Hilton has issued a response (kinda) to presidential hopeful John McCain's television commerial which lumps her together with Barack Obama and Britney Spears in the sometimes reviled celebrity category.

Sitting on a lawn chair in a bathing suit, Ms. Hilton says to camera, "Hey America, I'm Paris Hilton and I'm a celebrity too. Only I'm not from the olden days and I'm not promising change like that other guy. I'm just hot."

She continues, "But then that wrinkly white-haired guy used me in his campaign ad, which I guess means that I'm running for president."

And so, since Hilton has interpreted the comparison to Sen. Obama, D-Ill., as meaning that she too is qualified to be leader of the free world, Hilton, jokingly, lays out her campaign platform.

The video has some more tough words for the "wrinkly white-haired" Arizona Senator: "He's the oldest celebrity it the world, like super old. Old enough to remember when dancing was a sin and beer was served in a bucket.," a narrator says, with a picture of Larry King and then Yoda to drive home the age point.

McCain campaign spokesperson Tucker Bounds used word of the video to take a stinging swipe at Obama. "Sounds like Paris is taking the 'All of the Above' energy approach that John McCain has advocated -- both alternatives and drilling. Perhaps the reality is that Paris has a more substantive energy plan than Barack Obama," Bounds said in a statement.

The video is posted on the user-driven video site backed by Will Ferrel and Adam McKay, FunnyOrDie.com. Watch it HERE

"I'm making Paris Hilton look like a recluse"

Barack Obama
2005

Obama was the FIRST one to compare himself to Paris Hilton....3 years ago!

God, I love the internet.....

Senator Obama should consider it a good thing to be in same video as Paris Hilton. Paris could teach him how to make millions using his brain and talent instead of begging from contributors. Both Paris and Britney were millionaires by age 30--Obama certainly was not.

This is the funniest video I've seen in a while. It's so stupid it's funny. Accurate discription of McCain.

The Paris Hilton ad campaign is actually in genius. To this day, I do not know why Paris Hilton is so popular...she is famous for being famous, and I ask what has she accomplished to make her so popular the world over?

And that is a very legitamate question for voters to ask of Obama.

Plus, everybody is talking about it, you can't buy publicity that good. And of course, there is the subliminal message, that every time you see Obama now, you think of Paris Hilton, and what could you possibly be thinking to elect this man president?

Paris, lovely girl, but has no business being President. Ditto Obama.

Genius! kudos GOP!

Interesting video. She played into her stereotype.
Obama leads by six in recent poll

POTUS OBAMA

"Obama leads by six in recent poll"

Rasmussen has McCain up by 1.

Obama is falling in the polls, even with the democrat poll figured in (no bias there) he and McCain are only about 2 points apart...a virtual tie. Now consider in that the polls usually reflect a bias for demmies and this means that McCain is actually slightly ahead. Obama is sinking fast.

I think America is in trouble. Now we have another showman Obama on the verge of taking leadership from another showman Bush. China and India will eventually overtake us and then bully us all around.

Way to go Paris give it to the old stud muffin. He proved his brains are in his little toes

If Paris Hilton is hot....John McCain is the sexiest man on earth.

Posted by: obamasbeenlyin | Aug 5, 2008 7:33:05 PM

This is actually the best thing to have happened for Obama. McCain looks realy dumb having made the Paris/Britney ad in the first place. It is going to backfire on McCain so badly ... you watch!

Her plan is more detailed than Obama's. I'm sure he'll be "borrowing" some of her policies too because they're best buds. Just like him and Deval.

I come to ABC when I want to see what the troglodytes of America are thinking. You guys never disappoint!

Seriously, John McCain is an idiot. You guys should stop using the Internet and go back to your caves.

Oh, yeah, that wrinkly old white haired guy. Yep, old, OLD, OLD. . . with creeping dementia, too. Yep, Paris you've got that right!

Paris Hilton solidifies McCain's ad message. That can't be good for BO.

The next box-buster movie, "Bo and the Bimbo"....only it will be starring Bo Derrick and Obama.
