Biden Launches Bus Tour in Battleground Buckeye State
September 17, 2008 1:17 PM
ABC News' Matt Jaffe reports: Democratic vice-presidential nominee Joe Biden Wednesday hit the road in Ohio as he likened John McCain's economic "conversion" to the Bible story of Saul on the Road to Damascus.
"John said I’m always for less regulation. Here now John says he’s gonna go and crack down on the greed on Wall Street, the greed of American corporations," Biden said in Maumee, Ohio. "Let’s take a look at John’s conversion here -- something happened on the road to Damascus, John fell off his horse but he got back up on the same horse.”
Biden, launching a two-day bus tour through the battleground Buckeye State, spent much of his 40-minute remarks on Maumee's idyllic West Wayne Street hitting out at Republicans for de-regulating the economy in recent years.
"Look, if John cares so much, cares so much about this now, where was he a week ago? Where was he a month ago? Where was he five years ago? I’ll tell you where he was, he was bragging to the folks on Wall Street to the executives who now he calls ‘greedy.’ He was bragging to them how we’re going to shred the regulation that fetters them, that ties them down."
"Remember that scene in this administration where a bunch of folks, I think it was the Commerce Department, or maybe it was Treasury, took out a chainsaw. They had it on TV, a chainsaw, and cut through a whole batch of regulations. Well, they were cutting your bone and sinew. They were cutting right through the very things that protected ordinary people on Main Street."
The McCain-Palin campaign responded by arguing that voters would not be swayed by Biden's "distortions."
"No matter how fiery the sales job, Ohio voters prefer John McCain’s maverick record of reforming government and fighting for change," said McCain-Palin spokesman Ben Porritt.

Biden is going forth, carrying the Power of the Obama before him, to heal the crippled.
“Stand up, Chuck, let ‘em see ya.”

McCain has found an intern - Palin whom he is trying to introduce to foreign dignitaries at UN to learn foreign policy by shaking their hands and claiming before the debates that she is an expert on foreign policy. In the mean time McCain will have her tip toe to let (planted) people ask some questions. Wonderful experienced VP candidate who has been reading from the same script from day one. Let us not have the wool pulled over our eyes. Vote Obama/Biden if you are serious to have a future in the USA. Repulicans have already destroyed US wealth by waging a war in Iraq on false pretext. And now we are witnessing the results of their policies on wall street.

McCain-Palin really do believe voters are stupid. There's simply no other explanation.

McCAIN IS CORRUPT AND DIRTY!!!
Obama brought up the Savings and Loan scandal in the late 80's in his speech on the economy yesterday. And he came real close, but didn't mention something - so I will!!
McCain was one of the dirtiest Senators involved in the S & L corruption scandal in 1989!!! He and 4 other "Dirty corrupt" Senators were named the "KEATING 5."
Don't believe me, just use "the Google My Friends" and google the Keating Five. That is if you can run that new fangled computer thing or the Blackberry that McCain invented!!!
Out of the five Senators he was the ONLY ONE to take money and bribes to try and STOP and cover-up the investigation of the corrupt Savings and Loans!!!
Sound familiar??? As we see now McCain has his henchmen up in Alaska right now trying to "COVER-UP" Palin's TROOPERGATE SCANDAL!!! WHAT HAS SHE GOT TO HIDE, WHY DO THEY WANT TO STOP THE INVESTIGATION???
And McCain says he and Palin are the ones to clean up corruption in Washington??
GIVE ME A BREAK!!!!! MORE LIES!!!!
Let's vote for TRUTH and HONESTY in government this time, let's vote for Obama/Biden in 2008!!!

With focus on the issues, Obama retakes the lead in Gallup.
Biden is telling it like it is. McCain is the biggest flip flopper and is doing for political expedience.

Biden, and both clinton should camp out in Ohio Bill in the south Hillary in the middle and Biden in the subbrubs of cleveland. While Obama himself should hit every college town in the state. Forget this 50 state non-sense win Ohio win the presidency

ive seen palin and mccain trying to talk their way out of this economic destruction
thanks but no thanks ill take obama and biden on this matter

Biden has to show that the Democrats believe in a government that protects all the people from the powerful who believe they own the government as a corporate subsidiary which is and always has been the Republican playbook. McCain's even more of a phony than the characters in Wedding Crashers in which he had a bit part as a Washington celebrity and insider.

Obama wants change. mccain wants change. All I have left in my pocket is... change :(

McCain not only has favored de-regulation of Wallstreet over his career, he also wants to privatize social security--because those folks on Wallstreet can manage our money so well. Really, if McCain wants to run on his economic plans (rather than his tried and true POW record)the Dems might actually have a chance.

Wow, mccain is so out of touch. On Monday he said the economy is fundamentally sound. DOW down 300+ again today. I guess if I had 9 houses I would not be too worried either. Obama/Biden 2008!!!

McCain is clearly 20th century in his thinking and in his behavior. His involvement in the Keating 5 scandal is a good indication of how he has related to the fatcats of Wall Street. He is a man who for all but one year of his 72 years was basically a ward of the Federal Government. He was a dependent "military brat" while his father was a Navy officer; then John was in the Navy for 22 years of his own. He then worked for one years as a so-called PR man for his father-in-laws beer company while he prepared to run for Congress. Since then, McCain has served for 26 years in the Congress. So, for 71 years of his 72, he has fed at the federal trough. Now he is running an anti-government, clean-up the dirty politics campaign. What a phony!

davis aka as the VIOFOBAMATOWN....Yes I totally agree... google the Keating Five and you will discover that the Senate Ethics Committee dismissed "any charges of wrong doing" to only two Senators...John Glenn (D) and John McCaine (R)...And 4 out of 5 were Dems....IF YOU ARE SMART DO NOT TAKE ANYTHING THIS PERSON SAYS AT FACE VALUE....LOOK IT UP....
