"The problem of voter registration fraud raises serious questions for this committee, and the Consumers Rights League appreciates that the right questions are being asked.
"Here are the most important questions right now: We know about the thousands of potentially fraudulent voter registration cards turned in by ACORN and caught by officials. But given the size of ACORN's efforts and the fact that the abuses appear to be systemic, we believe it is fair to question how many more fraudulent registrations have not been discovered, Furthermore, as this mega organization with a decades long history of violating the law is turned to get out the vote efforts, we believe it is fair to question how many fraudulent registrations may lead to fraudulent votes or what other activities they are willing to undertake to influence the election.
"These are serious questions, especially in light of recent election results which show that a just few votes can change the outcome of an election, the course of our country and the course of history.

I've seen information on this Russian/Georgian incident from both sides. I see the perspectives of both sides, but what it comes down to is making a choice as to whom you side with. In a George W Bush world order that is a little harder than it should be.

I know that Joe has "grown up" with many of the current leaders and officials of these countries that we deal with. It is like they all started out in the mail room together, only in different countries. They know each other's families, and have taken each other's measure over the years, and pretty well know what to expect of one another.

The bottom line for me is that after studying Joe's life, and meeting he and his family, and having my own chance to take his measure, as an observer at least, I trust his judgment, which is based on so many more things than I know about these situations. He always goes to these trouble spots and asks questions of everyone and sees for himself what is going on rather than taking second-hand information.

His depth of experience and perspective is so much more than Palin's that there is no comparison. I know there will be right-wingers who will come along and smear Joe's judgment, but it is all just opinions. As I've said, you have to make your choice of who you believe and trust. Would the Russians have called for a cease fire if they intended the attack before the main fighting even got underway, before the Georgians abandoned fueled and fully armed tanks and thousands of M-16's and assorted other weaponry not to mention entire cities? Why would you call for a ceasefire beforehand?

What about the operations plans discovered by the Russians detailing an attack on Abkhazia by the Georgians?
