Bush Cancels Fundraiser to Focus on Economy
September 23, 2008 6:37 PM
ABC News' Jennifer Duck Reports: The White House announced Tuesday that President Bush will postpone a scheduled fundraiser in Florida Wednesday so that he can focus on the economy, according to White House Press Secretary Dana Perino.
"The President will attend his scheduled meetings tomorrow in New York and will then return to Washington," said Perino. "His travel to Florida has been postponed so he can concentrate fully on the situation in the financial markets and the legislation before Congress. We will let you know if there are any further updates to the President's schedule."
Bush said Tuesday during a meeting with President Zardari of Pakistan in New York that he feels "confident" Congress will pass Treasury Secretary Paulson's "robust" bailout plan.
"The Republicans and Democrats will come together to get this piece of legislation passed," said Bush, "which is necessary to address the financial situation and provide a rescue plan to make sure that there's some stability in the markets."
Bush also cancelled fundraiser appearances in Alabama and Florida last Thursday due to his concern about the state of the financial markets. Vice President Dick Cheney attended the Republican fundraisers in his place.

Do you think this moron is even aware that HE slept through the largest domestic terror attack on our country?
We're f*cked.

Everything that is old is new again [only 10 years off]:
Americathon -
The year is 1998. The world is completely out of oil and America is deep in debt thanks to dimwit President Chet Roosevelt (Ritter) who was elected by a TV worshiping public merely because of the family name. Sound familiar? Scary! Anyway, Chet and media specialist Riegert decide to hold a 30 day telethon to save America (home to the first gay state North Dakota!). To host it they choose washed up actor Monty Rushmore (Korman), who is now the pill popping star of a cross dressing sitcom called "Both Mother and Father." But sneaky Presidential aide Vincent Vanderhoff (Willard) wants this to fail so the Hebarabs (the Jews and Arabs have joined forces) can take over America. His plan? Booking only ventriloquist acts. Whew!

He may as well go to the fundraiser... He's so useless he'd just be in the way in D.C. at this point.

Bush is U.S. Economic Enemy #1 so even Republicans in Florida do not want him around. Being a lame duck, Bush has little to say beyond "Paulson is taking care of everything." Faithful Republicans, stand-up and let us hear you praise for the worst President of modern times, modeling another great Republican, Herbert Hover.

His last approval rating was 18%. Lower than Nixon's the week he cut and ran. Do you suppose that after the hiijinks of the last couple days he is gunning for 10%?

I am at a loss for words to describe my distaste, disgust and hatred I feel towards this man...the sad part of it is that he doesn't have a clue as to what he has done...considering that...one has to consider the American Electorate...they're not very smart either...and that my friends is a real downer!

Obama needs many miracles to be president of this great nation.
McCain/Palin does not need any miracles.

NYT today:
One of the giant mortgage companies at the heart of the credit crisis paid $15,000 a month to a firm owned by Senator John McCain’s campaign manager from the end of 2005 through last month, according to two people with direct knowledge of the arrangement. The disclosure contradicts a statement Sunday night by Mr. McCain that the campaign manager, Rick Davis, had no involvement with the company for the last several years. Mr. Davis’s firm received the payments from the company, Freddie Mac, until it was taken over by the government this month along with Fannie Mae, the other big mortgage lender whose deteriorating finances helped precipitate the cascading problems on Wall Street, the people said.
They said they did not recall Mr. Davis doing much substantive work for the company in return for the money, other than speak to a political action committee composed of high-ranking employees in October 2006 on the coming midterm congressional elections. They said Mr. Davis’s his firm, Davis & Manafort, was kept on the payroll because of Mr. Davis’s close ties to Mr. McCain, the Republican presidential nominee, who was widely expected by 2006 to run again for the White House.
Mr. Davis took a leave from Davis & Manafort for the duration of the campaign, but as a partner and equity-holder continues to share in its profits.

Obama and Ayers Pushed Radicalism On Schools (Media Yawns)
"Mr. Ayers is the founder of the "small schools" movement (heavily funded by CAC), in which individual schools built around specific political themes push students to "confront issues of inequity, war, and violence." He believes teacher education programs should serve as "sites of resistance" to an oppressive system. (His teacher-training programs were also CAC funded.) The point, says Mr. Ayers in his "Teaching Toward Freedom," is to "teach against oppression," against America's history of evil and racism, thereby forcing social transformation.
The Obama campaign has cried foul when Bill Ayers comes up, claiming "guilt by association." Yet the issue here isn't guilt by association; it's guilt by participation. As CAC chairman, Mr. Obama was lending moral and financial support to Mr. Ayers and his radical circle. That is a story even if Mr. Ayers had never planted a single bomb 40 years ago."

I do wish you guys could come up with something other than the same attempts to connect Obama with various individuals that have been analyzed to death and put to bed long ago. Why don't you instead try something new, like looking at the real issues and stating why you support or oppose them? Gee, that would be novel, wouldn't it? Except the problem is, that regardless of what issue you look at, there is very little that you can stand on to support a McCain/Palin ticket, and have to resort to the tactics of fear and misinformation.

Poor Emma.. take a look at snopes or factcheck.org and you will more than expose the falsehoods you espouse. "Don't know whose team he plays on", please, give me a break.. nothing more than the same old fear and ignorance that has been thrust upon us for the past 8 years. Unfortunately, the two do seem to go hand and and, and you are a perfect example.

WHY READ WHEN YOU CAN JUST WATCH TV?
Unfortunately, these people are too busy to care about their country. they are more concerned with reading the labels of the food they eat. I bet you EMMA knows for a fact how many calories in her breakfast cereal.

Most of the BS these people claim as "Fact" comes from the book "Obama Nation", written by Jerome Corsi. This is the same guy that claims the world trade tower collapsed because it had been laced with explosives when constructed! He is a loon with a long reputation of being a nut conspiracy theorist. Some people will cling to just about anything, no matter how crazy, to keep from shattering their precious world view. It makes for great amusement watching them contort and flop about, but it also places a great danger on the country when they are given the ability to decide our countries future direction by voting.
