Did Palin Call Hillary Clinton a Whiner?

ABC News' Eloise Harper reports: Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, in a video interview with Newsweek, posted on YouTube, discussed the coverage of Sen. Hillary Clinton.  In an interview that appears to have taken place during the Democratic primary, Palin criticizes Clinton for her response to media scrutiny she received while on the campaign trail.

Palin says, "When I hear a statement like that coming from a woman candidate with any kind of perceived whine about that excess criticism or, you know, maybe a sharper microscope put on her, I think, man, that doesn’t do us any good. Women in politics, women in general wanting to progress this country. I don’t think it’s, it bodes well for her -- a statement like that."

The presumptive Republican vice presidential nominee says that Clinton should just "work harder" and "prove yourself to an even greater degree that you are capable."

Palin explains, “I think she does herself a disservice to even mention it, really.  I mean, you’ve got to plow through that. You have to know what you’re getting into which, I say this with all due respect to Hillary Clinton and to her experience and to her passion for changing the status quo.”

The Alaska Governor concludes, “It bothers me a little bit, hearing, hearing her bring that attention to herself on that level.”

MOMS OF AMERICA,

I need help with this 'woman thing', a "leader's" CREDIBILITY, NOT HER FAMILY issues! lol

1. You are 44 years old and pregnant (RISKY).

2. Your 'water broke' PREMATURELY; and you are leaking amniotic fluid.

3. You would jump on a NON-MEDICAL plane for 8 HOURS and a 4 thousand miles trip, in order to give birth ... TO A PREMIE AT THAT?

Is the above;

a) Insane

b) reckless

c) bad judgment

d) an out and out lie, or

e) all of the above? lol

The unbelievable Sarah Pollen story.

Little Sarah should get on her knees and thank God (or Odin or whoever her Norse god is) for Hillary Clinton. If Hillary hadn't run for President, Palin wouldn't be where she is.

it doesn't matter if you are a democrat or a republican we have to put our country first.... we need responsible leaders. I do no want my teenage daughter looking at the daughter of the vice-president who is 17 and pregnant as any kind of a role model... lets just use our common sense.

E...all of the above

-the fact that she's being investigated by the State of Alaska on charges of abuse of power, involving SEVERAL instances where according the special prosecutor in which she may have been complicit, which are substantially more serious that she had first led the McCain camp to believe IS news.(abuse of power/dishonesty)

- the fact that Gov. Palin has taken $27 million in earmarks IS news; (pandering/corruption)

-the fact that Gov. Palin was the DIRECTOR of indicted Sen. Ted Stevens' 527 and raised millions for him, IS news; (corrupt)

-the fact that Gov. Palin ran up a $20 million debt when she was mayor of a small town IS news.(misuse of authority)

- The fact that Gov. Palin was a member of the Buchanan Brigade IS news. (Anti-Semitic conservative, Nazi sympathizer)

- the fact that Gov. Palin is a member of Alaskans for Independence Party IS news;(sedition/treason)

-the fact that Gov. Palin is a NeoPentacostal Dominionist which is a church that preaches purging the Earth of all non-Christians by a specially anointed army of God (starting with the Jews), IS news; (religious fanaticism)

-The fact that as a teen Gov. Palin played a leading role as a member of said army (Joel's Army or the Army of the Third Wave-which most Christian theologians consider heretical in nature) IS news....

PS: All of these stories have been broken by other major media outlets over the week end... so if any of this IS news to you, my I suggest a Google search.

This is her calling the kettle blcak, wow she is a good one to talk .I hope the republicans get beat so bad and it send her back to Alaska

We'll now see Palin's ability to practice what she preaches, in terms of plowing through media attention.

When she is available for media scrutiny, I'm sure reporters will want to know about her ethics investigation, the bridge to nowhere, earmarks, and Alaskan secession from the United States.

Yes, she did!

WoW. McCain picked one heck of a VP *sarcasm*

I'll be waiting for the October surprise.

We have to put our country first and not elect Obama who did a land deal with rezko while rezko was under federal investigation for influence peddling. Then Obama lied about it.

We have to put our country first and not elect someone who took his kids to hear rev wright's rantings and his praise for hamas and awards to farakkan.

ha ha, wow she does all the work for the DNC.
I would like to thank Sarah Pallin and John McCain especially for making this more entertaining.
I feel like I am watching Jerry Springer, which gets my mind off of the war in Iraq, failing economy, etc.
Thanks guys.

Countryfirst: I totally agree. The first and most important thing I stressed to my 26 year old daughter was respect for herself, and, if you should decide it is time to explore into the world of sex please come to me first and we will work on the safety issues. She did (at the age of 17)...your family doctor is a great resource. It just takes a good mother to take the time to talk to your children and make sure they can trust you.

Sarah Palin has fallen so low, and expectations for her set so low, that i think she has a chance tomorrow to actually begin to crawl her way out of this pit. I predict that her speech might actually have a bigger audince that Obama's. Of course even if she exceeds expectations, she still has to face the press. This is getting beyond ugly.

Country first... hm... I am talking about Palin not people Palin knows.... why can't you people understand the difference... Palin is crazy... we all know people who do and say crazy things, but that is very different to actaully being crazy yourself, wake-up!

Posted by: countryfirst | Sep 2, 2008 2:27:46 PM

The thing is that Palin calling Clinton a whiner will have zero effect, except maybe on the Republican base which will welcome the remark.

Clinton supporters are either now supporting Obama or not; and if John McCain's joke about Chelsea being fathered by Janet Reno didn't offend them, this Palin comment won't, either.

I wish Hillary would come out and defend herself on this. I wish Hillary would come out and defend women on this woman!

Posted by: beck | Sep 2, 2008 2:29:13 PM

Patriot--You have your facts wrong.
Her water had not broken--she was only leaking a bit. Same condition I had for two months before my perfert son was born. I too went to see my dr when it happen; he told me it was not unusual, not to worry about it.
Obama supporters are grasping at straws, trying to bring down the opposition.

Hillary Clinton is a hero. She has help unify the whole country. Palin can't even be a good mom and teach her daughter about safe sex, wss Chelsea Clinton pregnant and unmarried at 17... I don't think so... HILLARY!

I am not watching Palin's speech. I don't want to hear anything she has to say.

Unite American women and fight for your rights... we deserve better representation.

That's a good point, Kevin, about expectations. And also a good one about having to answer all these questions at some point - questions about bridges to nowhere, brothers-in-law, Alaskan secession, etc.

I have watched the Video twice,
Palin you are saying Clinton just should "work harder".

For your information she started working harder when you were 9 years old!

patriot

you hit the nail on the head

over every issue this is the one that has bothered me the most about her judgment.

outside of that her sheer lack of apparent knowledge on ANY of the issues we face seems to be the bat across the face for me.
