Did Palin Call Hillary Clinton a Whiner?

ABC News' Eloise Harper reports: Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, in a video interview with Newsweek, posted on YouTube, discussed the coverage of Sen. Hillary Clinton.  In an interview that appears to have taken place during the Democratic primary, Palin criticizes Clinton for her response to media scrutiny she received while on the campaign trail.

Palin says, "When I hear a statement like that coming from a woman candidate with any kind of perceived whine about that excess criticism or, you know, maybe a sharper microscope put on her, I think, man, that doesn’t do us any good. Women in politics, women in general wanting to progress this country. I don’t think it’s, it bodes well for her -- a statement like that."

The presumptive Republican vice presidential nominee says that Clinton should just "work harder" and "prove yourself to an even greater degree that you are capable."

Palin explains, “I think she does herself a disservice to even mention it, really.  I mean, you’ve got to plow through that. You have to know what you’re getting into which, I say this with all due respect to Hillary Clinton and to her experience and to her passion for changing the status quo.”

The Alaska Governor concludes, “It bothers me a little bit, hearing, hearing her bring that attention to herself on that level.”

Is A Dead Alaskan Baby Better Than A Live Texas One?

But, you know, even after all this stuff has started trickling out, I'd still take Palin over McCain.

One won Miss Congeniality. The other is known as Senator Hothead.

I think its maybe time for a little less belligerence coming out of the Oval Office.

Did someone say role model? Um, let's see... Edwards? He cheats on his wife with terminal cancer and runs for POTUS? Anyway, it's open season on the Obama family and the media doyen. How many people are going to be put on blast?

I think Palin should work harder at raising her kids.

"When I hear a statement like that coming from a woman candidate with any kind of perceived whine about that excess criticism or you know maybe a sharper microscope put on her I say man that doesn’t do us any good."

Was it "perceived" as a whine? You bet it was. Rightly or wrongly. Sen. Clinton's complaint set her campaign back. Gov. Palin was right to point that out.

Later in the story, Gov. Palin says "You have to know what you’re getting into which I say this with all due respect to Hillary Clinton and to her experience and to her passion to changing the status quo.”

This article is complimentary of Sen. Clinton. People are just too thin-skinned to see it.

palen calling hillary a whiner is allot more offensive that what obama his supporters called her.

Posted by: mae g | Sep 2, 2008 2:46:06 PM

correction-i found the way hillary was treated by her own party and by obama supporters allot more offensive than being called a whiner by palen.

Posted by: mae g | Sep 2, 2008 2:51:34 PM

And if she did? She probably wasn't a Hillary supporter in the first place.

Hillary DID whine and can't hold a candle to Sarah Palin. Sorry gang...wish all you want to but Obama and Biden will lose the election.

"palen calling hillary a whiner is allot more offensive that what obama his supporters called her."

They are so transparent. One of Barry's advisers referred to Hillary as a monster and they all agreed. Now all of the sudden they really care about Hillary.

it's really funny to hear a bunch of baby killing democrats, who want to take my money and give it to some welfare mom, talking about a woman of moral standing who is embracing her own family in a crisis, working to help her daughter resolve a problem, and trying to keep her daughter OFF THE SYSTEM! I guess you'd all be happier if she chose to abort the baby, or have it plus two more to go on welfare...
You people are pathetic and need a moral wake up call before you point fingers.

Does she know what she's saying? OMG! I hope nobody trips over the teleprompter at the convention because I would hate to see this woman try to wing a speech.

OMG!

God save us all ... even the little people.

Good bye republicans. Change your tune next go around please.

Democrats:: if you don't abort your child , just throw it over a bridge or hide it in the cellar or trunk of your car

Palin (and Mccain) are so anti-abortion that if your female loved one were brutally raped, she could even get the Morning After Pill, much less have an abortion.

Correction: could NOT even get the Morning After Pill, much less have an abortion.

The republican party is about one scandal away from being the Jerry Springer show.

Let's take a little inventory here. Sarah Palin's selection has:

1) Weakened McCain's lack of experience attack on Obama.

2) Brought McCain's age and cancer history back in the debate.

3) Gives people another reason to question McCain's judgment.

4) Causes a distraction from his convention.
5) Makes his campaign look inept.

Yup, this was a great pick.
