Stephanopoulos: Obama Says Palin More Bush-Cheney Than McCain
September 06, 2008 5:09 PM
ABC News' George Stephanopoulos reports: Republican vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin is a "skilled politician," but the country doesn't know much about her yet, Sen. Barack Obama, D-Ill., said in an interview that will air tomorrow exclusively on "This Week."
But Obama refused to say Palin is qualified to be president, and said that picking Palin brings Republican presidential nominee Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., closer to President Bush.
"He chose somebody who may be even more aligned with George Bush -- or Dick Cheney, or the politics we’ve seen over the last eight years –- than John McCain himself is," Obama said.
In the latest ABC News/Washington Post released yesterday, half of Americans said they have a favorable first impression of Palin. That number rises to 85 percent of Republicans and 53 percent of independents.
"She wouldn't be governor of Alaska if she wasn't a skilled politician, and I think her performance at the convention showed what a skilled politician she is," said Obama.

Hey, guess what, Barry? Governor Palin doesn't look like a typical candidate, either? And she has an unusual name, too. It's GOVERNOR.

So Sarah is more like Bush? I guess Barack will be glad to know that McCain will be giving the orders and Sarah will follow them. She will set no policy.
OTOH, Barack Obama is more like Jimmy Carter and will set policy. Be afraid of the second coming of JC.

If I didn't have a job and a brain I'd be a Democrat! If I didn't love my country I'd listen to Rev Wright God damn America and help Ayers blow it up and help Rezko and Obumma steal from the taxpayers! I sure am glad I'm not a Dem-wit Democrat!

Sarah Palin received only a little more than 600 votes in the election for mayor of Wasilla. That's pretty bad turnout for a town of around 7000. It looks to me like the people really didn't care who the mayor was since the town council and adminstrator actually run the town.

Obama says Palin can step in for Bush or Cheney. very impressive.

Do Democrats really have absolutely no new talking points since 2004? All they ever say is that everything is "like Bush" when they want to smear it. Change you can believe in!

Since this an open thread on a supposedly unbiased major news organization's website how can there be trolls? Could it be the liberals consider supposedly unbiased major news organizations their mouthpieces?

Sarah "Abuse of Power" Palin will become VP and after 2 months in DC will decide that it rains too much and return to Alaska.

Barry seems to be getting rather confused lately. I thought that he was running against MCain, Not Palin. What a loser.

No way no how for the Old Man and the Bimbo.
Maybe if McCain made better decision over Vietnam he wouldn't had to tell his boring saga.
If Palin was a better parent she wouldn't have to worry about being pro life.

Hillar-ious had to continue to reinvent herslef too! Obama is slipping in the polls and now has to try new campaign themes and bashing Sarah Palin! Good luck with that strategy you America hating Muslim terrorist! McCain will win in November! Stop your whining you Dem-wits!

Good grief. What a freaking whiner.
He was that boy on the play ground that everyone picked on especially the girls because he cried all the time.
He can not stand up to a girl and he thinks he can stand up to our countries enemies - HRC has bigger ones than Barry - the dems have made a terrible mistake.
I predict that Barry will not be on the ballot in November.

Obama To Stephanopoulos
I can't stop laughing!
Posted by: Sam | Sep 6, 2008 5:44:15 PM
Funny. They couldn't get the McSame stuff to stick with anyone other then their dumbest followers, so now they try to hang it on Palin. This is the greatest election ever. I need more pop corn.
Posted by: BuckNutty | Sep 6, 2008 5:44:29 PM
If Sarah Palin is more like Bush than McCain is AND McCain voted in favor of Bush's programs 90% of the time. That probably averages out to the two being about 95% identical policy-wise to Bush. Where's the "Change" going to come from? Oh yeah... Obama.

Mr. Obama is too late for you to repick VP. Now, you hahe seen POWER OF WOMAN.
TOO LAAAATE.
