ABC New's Sunlen Miller reports: Hey, what happened to "Change We Can Believe In?"

Barack Obama has suddenly changed his campaign slogan and signage replacing the 19 month Obama campaign event staple with a new one:  "Change We Need."

Obama_change_closeThe new slogan slowly started debuting after the convention but wasn't fully debuted as a package until this weekend in New Hampshire.  The new campaign slogan is coupled with a new podium donning the familiar – yet slightly different - message, new campaign signs, and a large banner on stage behind Obama.

The colors, and design are the same – and could be quickly overlooked, yet the message is an important one that the Obama campaign is trying to push: that Obama is the change that now not only should you believe in, but it’s the change Americans need because of the state of their lives over the last 8 years under a Bush presidency.

The slightly retooled slogan and message is something the Obama campaign has planned on slowly incorporating since Obama officially accepted the Democratic Party’s nomination in Denver late August.

"There's a real distinction between more of the same and the change we need and so that's a part," Obama's Chief Strategist David Axelrod says of change from the old slogan, "It's not that we're moving away form it, but we're incorporating it."

Senator Obama – speaking to a "Change We Need" rally before a "Change We Need" podium, as "Change We Need" signs waved in the audience – told the New Hampshire crowd that, well he is the change they need.

"Understand this Manchester, if we are going to bring about the change that we need, we have to understand what change is."

All this change comes at a time when the two candidates are arguing over change.

"We can't be fooled because John McCain – I've been talking about change since we started this campaign- some of you were involved. I talked about change when we were up, I talked about change when were down," Obama told the crowd of 1,700, "But now suddenly John McCain and his running mate Sarah Palin, they're out there saying 'we're for change.' 'We're for change too.'  Well I'm glad that they now agree with me but we've got to change America." But let's be absolutely clear about what change means - change isn’t just a word."

Kerry,

You'd better stop using those secret republican "code words", you know what they tell us Muslim means when we say it: *whispering* racist, radical.

Wonder what "Hussein" means (according to the dems) in repubican code. LOL!

Here's what PALIN means in republican code: WINNER!!!!!!

Has anyone noticed the tone of the topics for this blog?

Scan down the list of topics and see how many support Obama and Biden or try to demean John McCain and Sarah Palin.

You folks at ABC need to at least TRY to look like an independent news source instead of an outlet for Obama campaign propaganda.

Has anyone notice that McCain is coping Obama. I think it's funny that McCain is trying to copy Obama and he calls himself a person for Change when he has all Lobbyist on his staff. LOL Nice swift boating McCain.

This reporter hasn't been paying much attention--the slogan wasn't "suddenly" changed---speaker after speaker at the Democratic Convention referred to "the change we need". Definitely not a coincidence. Also, "the change we need" signs were all over during Obama's acceptance speech at the end of the Convention.

Kerry you really need to climb out of that narrow, right winged tunnel you live in and open thine eyes. Barack has stated he is a chrisian, not that that means anything good, but even if he were muslim, so what? Religion, or lack there of, should have no impact whatsoever on the presidency...SEPARATION OF CHURCH AND STATE... the only way to do it properly. Somebody who cares

Obama: Once a Chicago gangster's lawyer, always a Chicago gangster's lawyer. Graft, sweetheart mortgages after sweetheart home purchases, friend of terrorists, and one of the world's biggest liar.

October Surprise? Lawsuit Claiming Obama Not a US Citizen

A Lafayette Hill lawyer who filed a legal challenge to Sen. Barack Obama's presidential candidacy claiming he doesn't meet U.S. residency requirements had a motion for a temporary restraining order denied Friday.

Though the motion was denied, Berg said he was encouraged that Judge R. Barclay Surrick did not dismiss the lawsuit. The litigation also sought "expedited discovery."

I think they should have kept "Change we can believe in" to make the point that only a fool will believe in Republican "change".

Obama just gets worse and worse. His choice for VP is what, supposed to be an example of his plan for change in Washington?

Talk about insincerity...

Democrat for McCain/Palin

Not Debate-Gate ABC in the tank for Obama. ARE YOU SERIOUS? That is a laugh...The McCain/Palin ticket is finally being shown for what it is a phony ticket promising change because it make popular polling. Looks like McCain would rather lose him integrity instead of the presidential campaign. He looks tired and desperate with those sleazy ads, sad to see him in such a tragic state.

Wade...I was at the rally in NH today. Obama said that change isn't just a word...and then he went into gory detail about each issue and how he would change it. If you want the details go to his website.

What is McCain going to change? He has no specific plan for anything. His ideas are vague and non-specific. His idea of fixing the energy problem is "drill, baby, drill". His idea of fixing education is to just give out vouchers but not to fix No Child Left Behind. His idea of fixing the unfair tax code is to give the biggest tax cuts to corporations and the wealthiest Americans. McCain's plans are eerily similar to George W. Bush's.

Hillary supporters should support McCain/Palin. If Obama win, Hillary will no position in DEM. Obama, Kenndy and Blacks will dominate the party. Hillary will never has a chance to run again!!!

McCain is so out of touch. How can he relate to the average American? One house, one spouse. Obama/Biden 08.
