Palin Says She's Ready To Rumble

ABC News' Ron Claiborne reports: Seemingly brimming with confidence, Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin says she is ready to go head-to-head with Democratic Sen. Joe Biden in the vice presidential debate this week.

"I guess it's my turn now and I do look forward to Thursday and debating Senator Biden," she told a roaring crowd at a joint campaign rally Monday in Columbus, Ohio with Republican presidential candidate Sen. John McCain.

Palin told the audience "I'll do my part in St. Louis this week” in her debate against Sen. Biden, while mocking his age and experience, and his sports prognostication skills to the Ohio State Buckeye-friendly audience.

"I'm looking forward to meeting him too," Palin said. "I've never met him before. But, I've been hearing about his senate speeches since I was in like second grade. I have to admit though he is a great debater and looks pretty doggone confident like he's sure he's gonna win. But, then again this is the same Senator Biden who said the other day that the University of Delaware would trounce the Ohio State Buckeyes. Wrong!"

The allusion to Biden's 36 years in the U.S. Senate was an odd remark coming from the running mate of McCain, 72, a man who has been in Congress for the past 26 years and whose age has been cited as a concern of many voters, according to the latest ABC News/Washington Post poll.

Palin, 44, has been facing criticism in recent days for seeming unsteady and halting answering questions in an interview with CBS Evening News anchor Katie Couric.

Palin will reportedly spend Tuesday and Wednesday in intense preparation for the debate.

McCain's top advisers, Steve Schmidt and campaign manager Rick Davis, are working with her to get her ready for a debate at which some political analysts say she must do well to dispel questions about her experience and familiarity with national and international policy.

I was starting to feel sorry for her but guess her sharp tongue is out again.
BTW , I thought the Tina Fey spoof on SNL was just a joke. I didn't realize she said those words verbatim. As a life-long republican I am highly disappointed. I also understand that during a brief QA on Sat after the debates, she agreed with Obama's position on Pakistan rather than McCain's such that he had to correct her statement on ABC. This is just too much!
I watched Obama during the debate and was very impressed by his intellect, composure and forward thinking ideas. This republican will be voting for the democrat this year.

I just don't like this woman. She's rude. I don't see the charisma. I definitely don't see the readiness...but with all those advisors working on her, I've no doubt she'll cross the low standard bar everyone has set for her (talk about double standard)...but even then I will not be fooled by her.

She's ready to rumble! I like that!! you never hear fun, happy talk like that from Obama! Of course, the dems are too mean and evil to have a sense of humor. The democratic party is NOT the party to be in, today!!

Palin comes across as the popular girl who got off on being rude to others just because she was hot. But never had the brains. Got the breaks because people kissed her as*, but never had anything good to offer.

I can't put someone like that in the White House...sorry. She's just so mean.

ray...racist much?

Posted by: samhiguchi | Sep 29, 2008 2:19:48 PM

She doesn't seem to lack confidence...she just lacks knowledge and the ability to talk in-depth coherently on any subject....Sort of like GWB...

Go for it, Sarah,

Expose Joe Biden for the draft-dodging, pandering, vitriolic, lobbyist supporting politician that he really is.

Five deferments...for asthma...

Didn't the current Vice President also get five deferments?

Anybody But Obama/Biden...

as the saying goes "don't let your mouth write a check that your ass can't pay for"

quite arrogant

Ha ha...funny coming from a dumb!@#ss whose running mate is ancient. But then again, she didn't know what his foreign policy leadership was, so why would she remember his age? Where is all of this "confidence" and sharp tongue when she's getting interviewed? Why is she always sitting there saying "uh, huh, I dont know, I'll get back to ya?" She's going to be toast on Thursday (and then she'll scream sexism) and I cannot wait for her to crawl back under her redneck hole. This woman is a disgrace, a disgust, a lier, a cheater, and an idiot on and off paper. She deserves every bit of the media scrutiny she's going to get after her "debate." And by the way...if she was so confident, why did McCain's camp have the "alter" the format of the debate to make it shorter/easier on her?

The dems have the "dumbest, rudest kid on the block for their candidate so now, they pick on someone they are totally jealous of -Sarah Palin. Hey dems get with the program or move your butts to Venezuela. You'll like the dictator there, he's like Obama and his American terrorist friend, William Ayers.

Sarah: Don't be undermined by the filthy left wing pundants who write vile and disgusting things about you. They do this because they fear that in the end you and John will prevail. If they didn't feel afraid of their possible defeat there would be no reason to continue there gutter based and vile onslaught against you, Other than the fact that they actually live in sewer and know no better.

``I`a get back to ya``- Palin

This is pathetic.

Posted by: Krista | Sep 29, 2008 2:23:50 PM

Joe Biden is a liar. The worst lie that guy said was that the truck driver that killed his wife and child was drunk. No such thing! He had no charges! His wife wondered out in the intersection.

So, what rock did "ray" crawl out from under?

"I'm looking forward to meeting him too," Palin said. "I've never met him before. But, I've been hearing about his senate speeches since I was in like second grade."
Ok 1, I don't know a lot of 7 or 8 year olds whose ears perk up when they hear about senate speeches. I also doubt seriously that her parents or likely any adult she associated with at that age was terribly intersted in what a democratic senator from the east coast was saying.

2. No matter how well prepared she is she has three points she will hit, she will refer to McCain's position, she will try to be charming, she will fluff facts. Joe, you have to call her on thsi crap. This is big time politics. Make it clear you know John McCain better than she does, don't let her get away with not answering questions, and call her on the facts time and again. Ther are any number of more qualified women McCain could have selected, be sure to remind her of that as well. She is out of her depth.
