Todd Palin's DUI
September 01, 2008 3:41 PM
ABC News’s Bret Hovell reports: Alaska Governor Sarah Palin’s husband was arrested more than 20 years ago for driving under the influence of alcohol, the McCain-Palin campaign confirmed today.
Todd Pali was 22 years old at the time and was not yet not married to the presumptive Republican vice presidential nominee, but was dating her. He was pulled over by authorities in a small Alaskan town but not involved in any accident, and no one was hurt in the incident. He was briefly taken to jail following his arrest.
The campaign confirmed news of Palin’s arrest on the same day it announced that the Palin’s daughter, Bristol, is pregnant. Bristol is 17 and unmarried.

Example? It took 3 days for ABC to uncover something that happened to the HUSBAND of the VP pick that happened 22 years ago.
However it took a YEAR for ABC to report on Obama's radical leftwing, hate-spewing pastor of 22 years. And that was only after Sean Hannity got started on it.
HOW TRUE> THEY MUST ALL BE GAY OR BLACK

Ms Sarah was also in charge of Sen Steven's 527 group, any reports on that yet?? How bout when she belonged to a group (Independent Party) that wanted to break away from the United State...come across that yet??...you will.

New flash to all that's bashing ABC news. Ms Sarah released this information herself, had to throw the media a bone to get the Bloodhounds off track I suppose. Won't work Sarah, we want to get to know the REAL you.

If Obama and the Democrats want to touch this story, then Senator Kennedy's car accident with Mary Jo should be reopened!

Jo your comments are fabulous....the liberal media (all but FOX, the #1 rated news show on cable).
It took Sean Hannity to get the country to take a look at Rezko, Ayers, Wright, Pfleger and angry Michelle....if this guy Nobama had been white he would have been OUSTED long ago. There are different rules for different candidates. Just like O.J. was innocent, right?

DUI 20 years ago...whatever. Daughter knocked up now...Big DEAL. What about the disabled son left alone to campaign and run for VP...Big DEAL. I am a Republican and believe is family values...THIS IS NOT family values. What a mistake McCain and the vetters made. I guess they want Obama elected..

Hi Trish,
Oh ya, there is news on the Steven's 527 group bubbling up right now!!
http://thinkprogress.org/2008/09/01/palin-527-stevens/
Isn't it delightful to see all these Republicans just squirming? Trying to defend the impossible, McCain's ridiculous choice of Palin for VP!!!
Bye, bye McCain!!!

Yes, please harp on a DWI 22 yrs ago and a teen pregnancy. Then we can get into Obama's drug use that he admitted to and his mom's teenage pregancy with a married man in Kenya. Let's go you hypocritical Democrats. Bring it. I dare you.

It's not what it says about Palin.
It's what it says about McCain that he did not carefully vet the person he wanted to put a heartbeat away from the presidency.
He is a reckless idiot. If I wasn't going to vote for Obama before, I sure would now.

What's going to come out tomorrow? She is a member of some secret witches coven and has 666 tattooed on here behind??
Ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha!!!!!!!!!!!!
Bye, bye Debra, bye, bye McBush - it is so over!!

Seriously, this is the year the main stream media died. Where are the PROFESSIONAL journalists? If I see one more photo of Palin's LEGS wearing high heels on so-called "news" websites, I will scream. This is the same kind of media sexism that plagued Hillary's campaign.
Great posts, Jo. The mainstream media digs up a 20 year old dui within a few days of the Republican VP selection but they can't manage to come up with anything on the radical America-hating pastor of the church Obama complacently sat in for over 20 years? Give me a break! Hillary would have won the nomination HANDS DOWN if the press had done its job.

this is a non issue
I think the fact that she doesn't know a single stitch of anything regarding the world and foreign policy may be a little bigger of a problem
again with one quick choice...his first Presidential "choice".... McCain has shown he puts his own election in front of the welfare of the nation.
does she know who has Nukes and who doesn't...
does she know the historical and constitutional effects of Presidential signing statements.
does she know the details that keep separation of powers...
does she know what language they speak in georgia...or where Georgia or Tajikistan is?
Doe sshe know how to deal with the Pakistan India issue...does she even have an idea that there is an issue?
Does she know the history of NATO and who is in it.
Does she know the forecasts of trade agreements with China and India.
since she does not believe in man made global warming does she know how she would negotiate with China and India?
does she know how the Cuban missile crisis was settled...
does she know who the mujahadin is?
does she know what Reagan's contra scandal was about?
does she know why it was wrong?
I mean I could type for days...
and Biden and obama could answer all of these at minimum with naming parties involved...
she seems to have a tough time keeping track of her children and what they are doing.
and yes...if a Male VP candidate's 1st child of age got pregnant at 17...
I would say that was a red flag.

Felix - why is it ok for Obama to leave his children and run for the presidency for 2 years, but its not ok for Palin to leave her children for 2 months to run for vice president? The double standard is getting old.

Davis, you are paid Obamabot douchebag. How old are you? 18 is my guess going on 12.
Posted by: K | Sep 1, 2008 4:30:22 PM
This isn't a matter of getting high. This is a matter of driving while drinking, which is a threat to the welfare and lives of others. Of course, Laura and W did that, so that makes it OKAY in some circles.

Hey Davis, this is just the tip of the iceberg. McCain's people are just in Alaska vetting Ms Sarah. This is what happens when you don't do your homework.

have you all heard the interview with the DJ from a couple of months ago where he trashes the woman in Alaska with Palin on the phone...
and she laughs... she doesn't tell the jerk ...it's not cool...
or say it's out of line to say the woman is a bad mother (she laughs...so all I can say is what goes around comes around)
the DJ calls the woman a B!tch and Palin laughs as he derides the woman for being overweight and she laughs some more.
sad.... sad sad sad.
this woman should have never gotten near any selection process.

If Barack Obama had shown the incredible bad judgement John McCain has shown in choosing a running mate like this it would be on the news 24-7 on Fox and you can bet everyone else would be piling on as well.
I don't care what her husband was doing 20 years ago. I don't care what ANY of these people were doing 20 years ago but this woman doesn't have enough experience to be governor of any place BUT Alaska. McCain is pandering. He thinks he is pandering to women by chosing a woman - and a great MOM.
Well I'm a mom and if I had a newborn special needs infant at home and a seventeen year old pregnant daughter I would not be taking a job that exposes them like this and makes this kind of demands on my time.
Obama is right. Its about judgement. McCain has none.

Obama said spouses and kids are off limits. I guess his supporters don't listen. This is a non issue. Her husband is not running for VP. Obama did cocaine which is illegal but you don't see me bashing him for it. You haters need to get a grip and a life.
