Biden: Palin Was in 6th Grade the Last Time McCain Had a New Idea
October 09, 2008 4:43 PM
ABC News' Matthew Jaffe reports: At a Thursday afternoon rally at William Jewell College in Liberty, Mo., Democratic vice presidential nominee Joe Biden fired back at his Republican counterpart Gov. Sarah Palin for a comment she made two weeks ago about his age.
"Sarah Palin says, you know, 'I was in second grade when Joe Biden was elected to the United States Senate at age 29.' That's true, but she was in sixth grade the last time John had a new idea."
The Show-Me state audience loved Biden's line, laughing uproariously and rising to their feet in response to the Delaware lawmaker's retort to the Alaskan governor's pre-veep-debate zinger two weeks ago in Ohio.
"I'm looking forward to meeting him, too. I've never met him before," Palin had said Sept. 29 at a Columbus rally, ahead of the running mates' Oct. 2 St. Louis showdown. "But I've been hearing about his Senate speeches since I was in, like, second grade."
Palin was eight years old when Biden was first elected to Capitol Hill in 1972. At the time, Republican presidential nominee John McCain was 36.
The Delaware lawmaker's comment was not the only age-related jab he threw at McCain today.
"You know, the hardest part, I've been the youngest everything for so much of my life," the 65-year-old Biden said at a stop at a downtown Liberty bookstore earlier Thursday. "Now I'm the old guy in the campaign. Thank God John McCain's around."

No, we will still have the Republican Party.
The Democratic Party is quickly becoming the Socialist Party, just like the New Party ticket that Obama ran on in Chicago during the mid-late '90s.

I saw where a veterans group just gave McCain a grade of D on his voting record concerning vets. So why would you get excited about a guy who talks BS when it comes to helping vets.

Biden is HILARIOUS!!!

Biden was in office ten years before McCain. I think he should lay off the ol' insider talk. If Obama doesn't do what he's told, Biden will. His nomination didn't come out of nowhere.

We have been driven to socialism by the republicans. If they hadn't mismanaged the this country for the last 8 years we would be having this problem. By the way it was a republican president that is asking for the socialistic bale out of wall street.

I had heard about that letter that McCain wrote to Obama when Obama backed out on his word in 06.
Thanks for the post Alex. Nice work!

"driven to Socialism"
Wow, that's a new excuse.
And it wasn't the Republicans for the last 8 years that "mismanaged" anything.
This problem started way back 30 years ago with the Carter Administration.

The stock market has been tanking ever since Obama's lead in the polls has gotten so high.
Guess a lot of people don't think Obama/Biden "are anything but good for our country."
Posted by: SandyB | Oct 9, 2008 5:00:24 PM
Oh please. That is not the reason they have tanked. It's the failed policies of the last 8 years. Wonder how much Bush and Cheyney have lined their pockets with since being elected?
Posted by: J | Oct 9, 2008 5:17:24 PM
You can always tell a republican, they always have someone else to blame.
I have witnessed the past 8 years and this despicable Republican party has destroyed it. Just look at this lame republican president's poll numbers. Remember, you put him in office. You own it!

Kerry
Usually, I would never say what I'm about to say. Generally, I'm very polite. But this muslim racism and fear mongering is really getting to me. This is what I have to say about your insistence in trying to drum up fear because someone has a name that is of Arabic origin:
SHUT THE HELL UP!! YOUR HATE, FEAR AND IGNORANCE ARE SHOWING, YOU PIECE OF SLIME! QUIT TRYIN TO SOUND SO INNOCENT ABOUT TRYING TO RACE BAIT. YOUR BRAND OF IGNORANCE MAKES INTELLIGENT AND NON-RACIST AMERICANS SICK.
That felt so good to get off my chest. Now I will return to my usual polite, willing to discuss things rationally self.

McCain-palin tactics and temperament.
.
Dear concerned citizens of America and Mass Media of the U.S.A.
As a concerned registered independent voter, forensic psychiatrist, disabled American I made my decision to vote after taking into consideration following joint tickets attributes and characteristics.
1. Has the ticket shown adequate calmness, coolness, and connectedness's under pressure to lead our nation [Presidential Temperament]?
2. Has the ticket shown sustained sound "Judgment and Caliber"?
3. Has the ticket shown adequate understanding of depth and degree to address the crucial challenges in their their purpose, policies, and positions [ Honesty, integrity and sincerity]?
4. Has the ticket sufficient "understanding and knowledge" of inside Washington workings [Experience]"?
5. Has the ticket reservoir resilience, wisdom, and vigor to address the present and future f our beloved "Great-grand Nation"?
6. Has the ticket enough joint foreign policy experience and exposure based on " Values, Virtues, Vastness, and " [American moral soul]"?
7. Has their campaign talk, slogans, ads, plans, and programs based on facts and are they free of fear, fiction, frivolous labels, unfair attacks, negativity, and impulsively? [No "imminent danger to national
security and safety"].
8. Has the ticket genuinely kept on message of country first and politics last and avoided copying [Message change"]?
9.Has the ticket message stayed away from Culture divide and war[ Disaster prevention ]?
10. Has the ticket resisted being surrounded, supported and surrogate's by divisiveness, distortion's, and destructive characters, [ Real patriotism VS shiftiness and shameless parrot-ism]?
11. Has the ticket thoughtful, real non-partisan, & non-impulsive plans to address our current economic crisis or political tactics and temperamental statements.
I have personally and professionally concluded that OBAMA-BIDEN ticket will lift and inspire our greatgrand nation back to its greatness within and restore our global standing with the use of maximum, firm
international diplomacy and minimal force if and when indicated {" Peace thru Strenght "}.
12. The era of responsibility has to replace irresponsibility and unaccountability will change to accountability and transparency. The Wall Street greed will change to Main Street need.
13. Temperamental and Angry McCain is out to play and create a card mistrust and distress around Obama with the Vail of claim that he will bring bipartisanship in Washington DC. He is destroying him claim every by painting Obama naive. It is tragic, sad, and unfortunate that so called Maverick McCain has already generated a disdain and demeaning face off in the debates and bailout suggestion. Obama is real Presidential and he maintained a smile during the debate and while McCain had a constant grin and disdain towards Obama.
Yours sincerely,
COL. A.M.Khajawall [Ret] MD.
Forensic psychiatrist, Disabled American Veteran and Iraq
Freedom team. Grass roots California leader per Senator McCain's
PS: It is sad and unfortunate that Hon, Temperamental and angry Maverick McCain has changed into bitter rather than better man.

I have news for you, as the dow continues to go down, President Obama's number will go up because the people know that they have to take a different course.
McShame has no clue. You know why he keeps saying that he will reach across the aisle if he is elected (yeah right) is because congress is going to all be democrat.
President Obama by a landslide.

to NHVoter:
Sorry, but congress has much more overview of what is happening than the President.....so Dem congress......congress to blame.....
Posted by: mike a | Oct 9, 2008 5:23:43 PM
All the earmarks Obama has ever put in a bill for his whole carrer don't add up to what Mclame took the taxpayers for in the Keating 5. And what about Palin giving a speech this year to the AIP? Sounds like a terrorist organization who's leader was killed when he tryed to buy plastic exsplosives.
But I guess this doesn't matter because they are republicans or white.
Posted by: Joe | Oct 9, 2008 5:23:49 PM
You go, Joe! He should have added that Palin still has the intellect of a sixth grader!

You're welcome. I try not to lose my temper or my sense of humor, but I'm sick of this one because it's so blatant.
Posted by: This is SO Old | Oct 9, 2008 5:26:13 PM
Palin is smarter than a sixth grader, just not smart enough to be president.
Posted by: Independent realist | Oct 9, 2008 5:26:20 PM
From the standpoint of the “media” it appears that Barack Obama will be the next President and has anyone noticed that the Stock Market is plummeting, sinking into the abyss. The people (and it does not take an economist) know that the Obama tax and redistribution policies will destroy jobs, wages, stocks in retirement accounts. Obama’s polices will make economic conditions in America much worse and this is clear and they are beginning to remove their money as Obama pulls ahead in the polls. It’s over for America with Obama at the helm.

My Fellow Prisoners,
As my parrot and I (Palin) make stops around the country, it is becoming clearer with every passing day that my campaign doesn't have a porkchop's chance in a piranha tank of getting into the White House.
It is also clear that "THAT ONE" has not only taken my milkshake and drank it, but he has also opened up so many cans of Chicago Whoop A**, that my Depends need to be changed hourly.
My parrot Palin would like to give a "shout out" to all of the moose's and moosettes throughout AK while pouring a little buttermilk on the ground for her homies.
YOU BETCHA!! (WINK/WINK)
John McChicken McCain
THIS IS GOING TO BE A MASSIVE LANDSLIDE.
Obama/Biden - It's a Lock!
